It’s been so interesting to watch Dave do the circuit. These guys have so many other comedians and actors but they all seem pretty intimidated to have Dave there. Such a legend.
I died laughing when they did this great, long intro with a ton of credits, and then it cuts to Attell sitting hunched over in all black with two hats on looking like he's planning to mug Kippy and Foley after the show. Seriously though, Attell is a GOAT. You could tell he's a more reserved guy than most guests when it comes to his background/life, but I appreciate that he turned it into a friendly conversation and would ask them questions too.
Took him a bit but he caught on and made it really entertaining. He definitely didn’t want to get into his past and only acknowledged one of his siblings
@@FU7IM7CANADIAN I think Dave just didn’t give the response people were hoping for. People fail to realize that Dave Attell on stage and Dave Attell in real life are totally different.
He has gotten so much better at not being a total buzz kill during the intro when there is a guest, but when the guest is Dave Attell... Old habits die hard. I don't blame the kid.
What I love about whenever Dave is on a podcast is that he’s great about asking the hosts “what about you?” After every question. Good personality trait in my opinion

Yes, me too! Insomniac was the show that got me interested in comedy/comedians (and I had such a crush on Dave lol). I think I was in Jr High when it started playing on TV and I didn’t want my mom to catch me watching it. I spent the next 20 years smoking cigs in dive bars, joking around with my buddies. He is the only one lately that can brighten my mood every time - it's also comforting to know that when I'm sitting here in front of a screen late every night, he too is somewhere doing the same.

I've watched a bunch of these now and I have to say, I absolutely love your guys' format. Most interviews come in with an obvious agenda but put it behind a shitty facade trying to be casual or act like best pals. You guys hit the important questions, keep it moving, and just riff as you go. Really enjoyable to watch and listen instead of hearing people pretend to schmooze for an hour.
The last time I saw Dave, I got off of work with very little time to make the show. I ran to the train, got downtown and booked it about a mile up to the venue and just as I was running up to the front door, a short man in all black was also arriving. He ran in front of me and pushed his way past me to the door. He turned around and it was Dave Attell! He said "You're late! Next time, be ON time". I realized immediately that he was actually late and showing up twenty minutes after the opener was going. Before I even went inside, I was laughing. This man is the greatest comedian who ever lived!
