the velcro is actually supposed to sit on the outside of the leg so you did it correctly here! this is to prevent the horse from stepping on itself and undoing the velcro :)
Definitely use boots for jumping. If polos come undone during a circuit that’s incredibly dangerous or if it’s too tight it could cause damage to the tendons. Polo’s are only meant for flat work. Hope this helped.
I use polo wraps on my horses back legs due to bad past injury, and there have never been any issues, he jumps amazing and the wraps have never come undone. We always wear front boots though. But if your horses doesn’t need polo wraps when your jumping then I’d say don’t use them
Is there a reason why you didn't cup the fetlock and carry the wrap down more onto the pattern? I may have been doing it wrong for a while. Thank you for the video!
Polo wraps bell boots splint boots yes are very useful I also get them because there so cute lol 😂 tbh is the main reason I get them (and they are useful to I suppose 😂)
Same same I just got a pair of sunflower polos from hot headstall on Instagram and they're so cutee😍. But they do help my horse he's older and benefits from the support
@@kimberlyrr1480 yeah they help my horse a lot and it’s just a big plus they can be very cute! 😍oh I rlly wanna get some polos from hot head stalls Instagram Should I?
To get a better even pressure us older generation use the triangle method on the top because you risk to much tension at the top by the knee with beginners. Doesn’t anyone teach the triangle fold anymore?
Joyce Nesselhauf I feel like I’d wrapped correctly, there would be an advantage of polo wraps to boots simply it because it covers more area in a more uniform way than a splint boot does

You mean the pastern? It would restrict the movement too much that way :)

So what should you then use for hacking?
So is this use just for English horses or western horses? I mean like wrapping like this.
Honestly it shouldn't matter
Either
It's for flat work. So it's good for western as well.
Not just for english/dressage.
Are there advantages to using polo wraps vs splint boots? Is one better than the other?

I'd say splint boots are better for jumping from what I've heard
@@kimberlyrr1480 What about for general riding?
So polo and standing wrap are great for support splint boots are more for jumping to protect them.
❤️❤️❤️
Nice tutorial. Avoid too much tensioning, resulting in too tight of wrapping.
you should at least show what you are doing while doing it .....
