Robert really likes to laugh a lot. I expecting Robert to say good boy when he was scratching your head. Looks like you and Robert have a lot of fun together.
I envy you two. I wanted to foster or adopt for years, but got such discrimination against me and my spouse that it was given up. Now at almost 70 I still long for the father son relationship I really never had. You two are so lucky to have a great relationship with its ups and downs that I never had. Good luck to you both in the future.
Another great video. Robert seems to be doing very well in his forever home. I'm so happy to hear that he keeps in contact with his sister, for him to be able to do that I think helps reassure him that he's not banned from his biological family. So many are completely cut off once they're separated, glad that Robert stays in contact and that you encourage him to do so. I think it may also provide some comfort to him too.
Me too his a good daddy, can l come and be his mother please,l will love him just like you exactly. I am from Africa or maybe you don't love Africans my home country is Kenya.
Then l don'tknow how to cook, l only know to cook Africans foods because l was born in Africa. Then also Robert l am serious, what is your phone number?
Shout out from NZ! What you have both worked so hard for comes together here. The bond you guys have built is so enduring and special. It is heartwarming. I'm a foster caregiver in my country, and have found your channel really enlightening, encouraging and of practical help - Thank you for sharing all your ideas, your journey and your insights and also for the thought and care you put into each production.
I have been giving a ton of thought into the adoption process lately. I’m at a very comfortable place in my life and have the room and love to share. I’m so glad I just stumbled on this channel. I gotta get into these videos and watch
Good to hear Robert is able to keep in touch with his sister. Also good to see you were using a mask during the height of the Covid pandemic and not being blasé about the Covid danger.
Awesome! We need more great foster dads! Your experience will help you see from their perspective. This is one of the hardest things for new foster parents.
Star Trek and laser tag for the win. What a great relationship you both have together. :) (Jo plays skyrim and fallout.) I was a latchkey w absent or bean dad, my kids experienced a sociopath, being abandoned and finally incarcerated dad.... nice to see a good dad does exist...because they seem rare to us. Whether birth, step, foster or adopted we all need a good father
So, given how much laughing Robert was doing in the video, we know he's happy....but how many times did you have to pause the recording because you were laughing too LOL.
A lot of the answer to this is Robert's story to share when and if he feels ready (which might be complicated by the fact that some of his family members watch us). That said, he has shared here (or given permission for us to share) that his father had a terminal illness. In spite of this, during the 2 years he was in foster care, the court worked a plan with his father to take him. It didn't work out in the end and his dad decided he wanted to make sure I was the one raising Robert so he signed over his parental rights in my favor.
Also, Robert is adorable. You have done an amazing job with him.
Thank you! He has worked really hard to process his past. Also, we love your animals! Robert was so excited to see your videos.
I honestly love this video. Robert is such a fun loving kid. This is 1 of my favorite videos.

Working with orphans in Ukraine, adoption is something that is very close to my heart. Well done. New subscriber
What a great video! I’ve thought about fostering, but would do so as a single gal. Thank you for sharing your joy as well as the difficulties.
He seems such a sweet funny lad! Looks like you have a great relationship!

Oh my goodness I don't know. The raw footage was 20 minutes long if that gives you any idea. 😅 He says I gave him "the look" and that started it.
