- When identifying a target while metal detecting, turn 90 degrees on the target and listen again. An iffy signal may clear up and become a better digable tone. Good luck out there!

That double loop thing was part of a water well chain pump. Nice hunt!
Nice! Thanks for the ID. Definitely something I never found before. I also never found a Rev War binky either though. lol
Shawn, you’re right about hardly ever finding forks? It’s probably close to 15 to one for me: spoons to forks.
Great hunt…especially finding cool leftovers like that. Way to go!
I know it’s a lot, but I like these mid week “shorts” mixed in.
Agreed. Such a refreshing break from “stuff”
We are keeping up for now. Plans are to continue them. We both work long hours, so sometimes it’s hard. Maybe some day this can be our full time jobs lol
@@detectingpa8968 if I win the next Mega Millions I’ll get my YT channel running full time 🤣😂.
We will be rooting for ya! Lol
@@detectingpa8968 would love if you could make this your full-time job. Nothing better than feeding your soul and providing for yourselves! I’m pulling for you!
Some nice finds , always enjoy watching 👍👌
Thanks. Appreciate that!
Wonderful finds and some great advice. These midweek videos are much appreciated! However many you guys can or want to do will be a blessing. Seriously!
We are keeping up for now. We are going to try and make it a permanent thing. Thanks as always!
Great hunt what I like about your videos is you hunt old home sites like most of us not just Civil War sites or corn fields thanks for the video
We love the old sites in the woods!
Good finds cheif! Never hunted out! I love that saying! I'd go back there again. Good luck. Rk.
There’s for sure more there. I only hit about a 20 foot area hard.
Great job, Shawn! My motto: if in doubt----dig it!
Absolutely. We are learning that sometimes those tones that don’t sound very good are actually good items.
Great Hunt Shawn. Love the Spoon and Fork. Congrats on the V Nickle IHP and Wheaties. Take Care Happy Easter
Thanks! Always finding the utensils!
Awesome hunt and great finds the more videos yas put out the better always look forward to your hunts God Bless and happy dirt fishin…Virgil
Thanks Virgil. As long as they keep improving! lol
Great coins to find and the spoon
For sure! I’ll take a V nickel any day!
Good morning guys ☕Watching now... 💖💖
Glad to see you on the hunt. Been a minute or more since I have been on. I guess long enough where they shut my channel down, lucky I was able to keep my channel name but I lost all of my subs 😢
Always nice watching.
We appreciate that!
Look forward to your videos and now pumped up even more hearing about your mid week videos. Is it possible for us new XP Desus 2 users for you to share your program and settings to further our knowledge and understanding with this machine and hobby? Good work you two!
Hey Dan. Jerry uses the fast mode. I am thinking he doesn’t discriminate anything. I use the general mode with a few tweaks. I set my sensitivity at 90 and run discrimination around 20. I also save that setting so it starts the machine in my mode with the tweaks.
Shawn I really enjoy watching the videos that you and Jerry provide. Great hunt for you today.👍👏😀
Thanks! Be sure to tune in tomorrow morning at 8am!! 😁
good video enjoyed it
Keep up the great work. Enjoyed
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks James!
Another great video can't wait for the next one, stay safe and lots of love from West Virginia ❤️🙂
Thanks as always Trish!
Love your show looking forward to the next one great stuff, man💪❤️😊
Thanks! We appreciate that.
Great finds
Thank you!!
Good advice Shawn, sweeping the coil North / South -then East / West
The other trick I use a lot is lifting my coil up 6 inches or more to get info about the size - this spares me from digging cans and plumbing parts- if it's a coin , that signal will drop out when you lift the coil . Thank's for another great outing !
Gregory.
I did that once. Then my buddy came behind me and dug a 1888 Morgan dollar that was 3 inches deep. No more lifting the coil for me. Dig them cans!
You’re right. Another thing is, if it’s a small target it may sometimes sound like it’s deeper and large items can sound shallow but are actually super deep. Just gotta dig it all!
Thanks Shawn, congrats on IHP
Another good day out, thanks for sharing.
Thanks…the other Mr. Dunn.
That's a cool spot! It's funny that you had the same thing I did last weekend. I had a hard beeping 78 in the hole. Eben though alot of junk comes in that range in always digging 70s. That's the gold coin range!
I dig down and saw a nickel with shiny edges. Turned out to be a war nickel with a wheat penny in the hole! In the woods I dig everything! Sure some days I might cherry pick the high tones. But then I go back and get the rest. Usually the 60-80 range has the best relics!
Thanks! Most sites we go to are so old, we have to dig every tone. We are digging 20 and 30 tones. lol.
Shawn Its morrel time in KY keep your eyes open thanks for another great video
Thanks John. I’ll for sure keep an eye out in the woods!
New sub here. Thanks for the content. Love the V big time. I dig a little in Murrysville pa when out that way. Blessings
Thanks! What area are you usually in?
Good finds why you out alone
Thanks Mike. Sometimes Jerry and I have different schedules and not able to go out together. I’d say half and half.
Thank you. We appreciate you!
Nice finds!
Thanks!
2:06 Bell Push or a ceiling rose for a light. Stumped by the double ended loop. The fork is old because the tines are long!
Thanks for the ID. That binky thing is a well chain hook link (from other viewers ID help).
Great saves your right there has to be silver there.
We say it all of the time William. lol
Nice hunt,Wheaties and v nickel plus Indian cents!
Thanks James. Always good out detecting. Beats work any day! Lol
i had a sporadic tone. did the 90. still was sporadic. dug it up was a small silver ring. with my nox 700. just cause its a sporadic tone still dig. just saying. was down at the beach. have a good day.
They do say to dig it all!
Maybe the back side of a door knob.
Thanks Jeff. That’s what we are thinking too.
Awesome video, as already mentioned do y’all use any special programs or have any tips to pass along
Jerry uses the fast mode program. I use the general program with a few tweaks. I adjust my sensitivity to what the site allows, and turn destination to around 20 I believe. Not a whole lot different from the regular general program. I added it to the detector as #16 program so it starts in that mode each time.
@@detectingpa8968 thanks
That was awesome, Shawn!!!!!!! That Deus II must be worth the money?👍😃 Great job, Shawn, thank you 💖
Thanks Mona! For sure the best detectors we have had so far. I used to love the AT PRO but the Deus is leaps and bounds better!
@@detectingpa8968 Can you recommend something in the $3-5 hundred range?😅for a beginner. Thank you, Shawn!
Well, I’ve had both of these and they fall into that range. The Nokta Makro Simplex is a decent machine (but I didn’t like it). I think it’s priced around $350. I also used (and still have) the Garrett Ace 400. It’s priced closer to $500 I believe but I think it was more user friendly. If I was to pick between those 2, I’d choose the Garrett ace machine. Both are decent machines in that price range.
@@detectingpa8968 Thank you, Shawn🤗
the double binki looking thing is an old well chain link
Thanks for the ID!
👊
💪👍
The pc that is double sided is for horse harnesses
Not a bad day at all!!!
I’ll never complain about being out!
I think the second thing is part of a brass bed
Ohhh it could be!
Second find was a hollow brass door nob.
Thanks for the ID Barry.
What part of Pa.?
We are in western PA
Think I could tag along on a hunt.
Possibly some day when we have a larger permission. Most sites we detect are pretty small. We will keep you in mind.
@@detectingpa8968 I don't see your email info
Well chain pump link
Thanks for the ID. Blows my mind that so many people know what it is!
Well pump chain link
Thanks for the ID!
looks like you forked up. 😂. ya i know nock it off dillweed. have a good day.
You either get forked up or get spooned. Which one is better? lol
Corrosion on an Indian doesn't sound like a clean cent either.
You’re right! It doesn’t. Also if the coin is bent any it will ring up different on the machines. That’s why they always say to dig everything!
