The Wii port should have more features. I do like SMAS, but this time, they should put more features in there like SMBDX. Think: 8-bit/16-bit mode, Sound Test, Challenge Mode from SMBDX, Achievements (like the one in Kirby Air Ride/Smash Brawl), and You vs Boo from SMBDX for all four Mario titles. And they should also add more titles in there like Super Mario World, using either the Wiimote + Nunchuck, Classic Controller, and Game Cube controller.
@AuronSuper95 Hertz is dedicated to the software, not the hardware, so being on a more powerful console wouldn't change the fact that the PAL version would still run in 50 Hz. Nintendo itself already confirmed several weeks ago.
@SobmicSSBB If you're talking about the original SNES version, then no. THAT is special. It's enhanced 16-bit remakes of the NES Mario games. If you're talking about the Wii version (not Virtual Console version), then no. It's the exact same game only taking a tiny amount of space on a Wii disc. It would make a lot more sense if it was like Sonic Classic Collection by having ALL Mario games from every console (NES, SNES, N64, and Super Mario Sunshine on the GameCube), but no. It's not.
@Lugmillord yeah I know, I love mario more than the next guy, but WTF, Where is the super mario world, they even had a super mario all stars version with super mario world in it!
wow I was expecting maybe a remake using NSMBWii What do we get........ VC content on a disc with information you can get from Wikipedia YAY Nintendo, you never let us down
This is epic! Me want! The extra goodies definitely make up for the original SFC version of SMC and the price tag, but I still wish they'd revamped the collection to today's standards and make full use of Wii's graphics and sound. I wonder if Ninty's going to release something like this in the West. If they're going to release the original unaltered SNES Super Mario All-Stars, I'd personally much rather have it on Virtual Console. They could release the extra goodies as part of Club Nintendo.
I'm also worried about the price of this game. I hope it's AT LEAST $10 or $8 like the SNES games on the Virtual Console. If it's $20-30, I'm gonna be pissed.
Matter of fact, this whole Super Mario Collection Special Pack should've been a DS release instead. It would've complemented really well with Sonic Classic Collection and all 4 of those Mario All-Stars would fit on the DS card just fine. Plus they could put the DS game with the CD together in a box like what Atlus did with Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier. But nnnnooooooo. They did this. -_- *headdesk.jpg*
I still own an snes and i still have SMAS + SMW, Yoshi's Island and Mario Kart... Besides, I already bought those games at the store... I expected something bigger...
@SobmicSSBB Final Fantasy has nothing to do with my point. My point was that Nintendo is porting (and I mean just PORTING) a SINGLE SNES game, which is probably not even 10 MB, inside a 4.7 GB Wii disc. Not only is it nothing special for Mario's 25th Anniversary (29th if you count Donkey Kong-Mario Bros.), IT'S WASTING A LOT OF SPACE. The music tracks are gonna be in separate disc as well. That's why I said earlier it would make more sense to release it on the VC or w/ the CD on the DS.
I... Actually really kinda had hoped that when/if they where going to get around to re-releasing the All Stars Collection that regardless if they updated things or not, they would still go the portable route just like they did last time with the GBA games... I mean... I'm not one to look a gift-horse in the mouth but... This REALLY SHOULD BE a full time retail DS release... Not a limited time only deal... On the Wii... IF... We even get it overseas in the first place...
おお。スーパーマリオコレクション25周年に発売されましたね。
Can't wait to get this. Wasn't around for the original mario so it should be great to finally play it.
can't wait for this to come out in the States. I only played the original Super Mario All Stars on the SNES a few times.

Nintendo itself already confirmed several weeks ago.
@MasterYoshiRider Wii games can always be displayed in 60 Hz.
@GXSCChater This is just a re-release of a SNES game that's not on the Virtual Console, Super Mario World is already on the VC.
@RockmanUniverse The PAL versions are all confirmed to be 50hz like the original.
I hope they come out with a version of this in North America.
@KyubiStewie
I think the main reason to buy this is the cool swag. Hopefully they'll put another game in that they didn't show here.
ahora que oigo bien el comercial, el juego viene con un CD aparte del juego??

@SobmicSSBB The emulation works just fine and it plays a hell of a lot better than Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis on the GBA.
@Lugmillord yeah I know, I love mario more than the next guy, but WTF, Where is the super mario world, they even had a super mario all stars version with super mario world in it!
懐かしい ^ ^
THANKS MARIO!!!
A MI TAMBIEN GRACIAS A TI ME GUSTAN LOS VIDEOJUEGOS !!! n_n
This should've been a Virtual Console release. Putting an SNES game on a Wii disc is wasting a whole lot of space.
I hope Nintendo of America should release this, plleeeassse!
wow

@Lugmillord I'm with you. I wouldn't want to waste 30 dollars for just an SMAS game for Wii. Not much for the booklet, however.
@EnXsz no me gusta la pirateria. se debe reconocer el esfuerzo de las personas que trabajaron en esos juegos.
TE AMAMOS MARIO!!!!!
gracias a ti me gustaron los video juegos!!!
