I pulled the radio back out because the non flush fit bothered me too all the time. I marked where the android housing was hitting the textured dash pad. I took a razor cut the foam in those spots. The radio now fits tight and flush at the top both left and right. I'm happier and I am happy overall with this radio after customizing with car launcher. Thanks for your original post as it played a big part in my going for it with this radio. Sound is great. Most apps run through hot spot on my phone otherwise just local radio. Apps from phone work faster then running the same on the android. It could be faster and kinda wish I got a higher ram gb model but for the money this radio is kick butt. The learning curve is high at first as it's a android tablet radio. Thanks again!
Customer service sent me the fix for the climate control: 1; Settings 2; Factory settings 8888 3; Protocol parameter settings, the air conditioner spring frame is off
I have the same radio. None of my ac controls or volume knob work . The power button either. I can use the screen to control everything but none of the buttons work. Everything is plugged up properly I’m pretty certain
You have to set the right canbus in the factory menu. If what you have is not working with the car, try other options until you find the one that works. I had to do this with mine.
Just installed mine came from Aliexpress for 131 bucks I couldn't resist so far so good my climate control screen doesn't keep popping up thank god. Just curious how long it will last 🤔 also to get a better sound adjust the EQ on my Amazon music app I had to adjust the EQ through the app. Is yours still holding up?
Looks good. Hopefully you got it for cheap. Question: 1) Can the dash kit with lower buttons power up/work without the supplied screen? I am thinking possible just getting the cheapest model of this just for the dash kit and ditching my metra. Pairing this dahs kit with my ILX-F309 and connecting maestro RR. Since stupid metra is not compatible with maestro. 2) Does SYNC integrate with this and you are able to use OEM microphone?
Hey great work with the videos. I bought this unit after watching your video. It worked well for about a month and the touch buttons don’t work anymore. It seems to be something to do with the canbus setting. Have you come across this issue?
Just looking into these on ebay. Some sellers ask if you have manual or auto a/c and send a different connector depending on what you have. Some don’t though. I know the a/c pop up can be fixed via a setting but curious if the different/wrong connector is the cause?
I dont believe this is the case. My personal thought is that there is some defect in the touch portion of the climate controls where it thinks it gets touched and pops up the AC controls. I've been thinking of uploading a new video with my thoughts now that I've had it over a year. Overall I'm pretty happy with it once some of the bugs were worked out!

I've dimmed as low as able for night driving and its still kind of bright. That being said I rarely drive in the dark anymore. If I remember correctly there was a way to turn the display off but keep music going if you want that. I do not recall how but I think I've done it.

Fyi all. Car battery died first. Android head unit black screen no start up afterward. Checked all fuses were good. Thought this thing was toast. Yanked from my mustang was going to throw it away after completely taking it out. Not sure the cause. Decided to start plugging some power and wires back in - it must have triggered some reset because it booted back up and is back to normal. Fyi to all if this happens to you it may not be dead unplug leave sit and try again. Happy again for now. Better than having to buy again. This UA-cam was the reason I got the stereo off eBay in the first place so wanted to share here.
My knob/power button isnt working but the rest of the touch controls down there work.... The climate control on my touch screen is not working either. Any idea?
Check the pins for the AC harness on your car to the bottom right connection on the android ? Mine did not work, could not be plugged in since my harness was a 8 pin, android was 10 pin. Fyi. Not sure if your shared issue or not. I am trying to find out - I was excited to get this installed ripped out the old and then it was a no go, no AC to hook up. Otherwise this was easy install. Bummed.
Hey I purchased the same radio for my 2012 mustang. Everything works perfectly. But only thing is that after I turn off the car and lights. The lights in the ac control buttons won't turn off. Today I had to Jumpstart my car as those lights drained the battery. Is there a way to fix this.? Thanks in advance
Sorry, I looked it up and the seller I bought it off of on ebay is no longer registered. Go to ebay and search 2013 mustang touch screen and look for the same radio.
I have the same issue, it doesn’t turn off or sleep when the key is shut off. There are some unused connections but I have connected every plug that fits. Very annoying.
I am quite happy with the unit still. I have been thinking of doing a 1 year review. Via comments on this video and playing with factory settings i've been able to fix/ circumvent most of my complaints with the headunit.

Go to ebay and search mustang radio. It appears to be the same radio sold from several different sellers, I've seen some almost $100 lower for the same device than what I bought.
The one I bought you had to indicate if you had base or premium ac. I don't recall the exact terminology. If yours didn't make you choose, you likely have the wrong selection.
I had the fit issue = doesn't seem to set/ go all the way back. I did pull it back out, marked the dimensions of the android unit where it hits the dash padding. I cut it out w a razor blad just enough to push all the way back. I am so much happier with the fit now. I cut minimal of the textured foam where the android was not allowing to set into the dash. Go slow, be careful it will look good and is hidden.
My experience has been good, once I used some of the comments here to fix or subvert my main complaints. If I were to recommend I'd caveat it with " some people are reporting issues I haven't had"
@@icari Did you have a cable that plugged into the bottom panel? i have a small cable that looks as if it’s supposed to go there but it doesn’t fit and my bottom panel (none of the physical buttons) doesn’t work. i’m about to send it back unless i can find a solution!
@@a_griffin_03 I installed mine yesterday, and yeah that plug doesn't go on the unit. All climate control should work without that plug. It works fine for me. My big problem is the climate control coming on all the time without touching it
The red wire is the one that powers the camera, right? Have to hook it up to the wire that feeds power to reverse lamps. I'm not going to specify a color because I know it changed year to year.
@@leandroj.leala.7036 your backup camera cable should have a red RCA and Yellow if I remember right. The red wire on the camera cable at the front of the car doesn't need connected, you have to connect the red from the camera side to reverse lamp power. The radio will swap to the incoming video signal automatically. If this doesn't help, figure out a way to message privately. Do t really want to put my # out for everyone to see lol

Bought the unit but been having issues with the wireless CarPlay volume. Way too loud! From 0 to 1 volume makes it too loud while the car is stationary. Tried lowering the volume in settings but seems to only change the non-CarPlay volume. Can’t adjust it on my iPhone either. Anybody else have this problem? Any tips would be appreciated.
How did you do the wiring 😭😭😭 I can’t save nothing and I was getting a speaker pop when I crank up and turn off until I disconnected one of the hornest so one is just loose but it fixed the popping.
@@jalonsopots I contacted them on eBay and they gave me a wiring change that fixed the constant popping. Now it does 1 pop at startup and that’s it. They gave me 10% back and I’m taking it to a real shop to fix. It’s something with the amplifier. I’ll let you know if the shop can fix it
HD erapta ert01 on amazon. Picture is good, however the guidelines definitely do not line up with the cars width . Also, the guidelines disappeared a week ago and haven't come back. I would choose natika if I did it again, look for Jacob Doty video on that particular camera.

I have the same radio but from a different seller, The way to fix that is to Go to "Factory settings" enter the pass code (8888) go to protocol parameter settings. Go to "POP AIR SET" and switch it to "Closed". Lastly go to "Air conditioner floating key switch" and change that to "Open". So now it won't pop up anymore and you will have a small ac icon on the screen that you can just click it

Did you figure out any solutions?

You have to have a manual A/C version.

I had the same issues with not being able to get Fahrenheit, and miles - but the car launcher app gives you the ability to change it permanently.

How to adjust my EQ band?
There's an app for it if you go into the built in apps on the radio. I'm pretty sure I showed it in this video but could be wrong.

In the climate control screen there are heated seat buttons. I can't say 100% that it works as I don't have heated seats, but the buttons are there.

I would say the stock stereo could go louder than this one. It's volume levels suit my needs though.

Bought the unit but been having issues with the wireless CarPlay volume. Way too loud! From 0 to 1 volume makes it too loud while the car is stationary. Tried lowering the volume in settings but seems to only change the non-CarPlay volume. Can’t adjust it on my iPhone either. Anybody else have this problem? Any tips would be appreciated.
I have that issue with fm radio. Sorry I do not know of a fix yet
How did you do the wiring 😭😭😭 I can’t save nothing and I was getting a speaker pop when I crank up and turn off until I disconnected one of the hornest so one is just loose but it fixed the popping.

@@jalonsopots I contacted them on eBay and they gave me a wiring change that fixed the constant popping. Now it does 1 pop at startup and that’s it. They gave me 10% back and I’m taking it to a real shop to fix. It’s something with the amplifier. I’ll let you know if the shop can fix it

When I bought on eBay I texted seller and they said no dongle is required CarPlay built-in

what camera did you buy for the rear camera? and how did you install it to go with this ?
HD erapta ert01 on amazon. Picture is good, however the guidelines definitely do not line up with the cars width . Also, the guidelines disappeared a week ago and haven't come back. I would choose natika if I did it again, look for Jacob Doty video on that particular camera.

I have the same radio but from a different seller, The way to fix that is to Go to "Factory settings" enter the pass code
(8888) go to protocol parameter settings. Go
to "POP AIR SET" and switch it to "Closed".
Lastly go to "Air conditioner floating key
switch" and change that to "Open". So now it
won't pop up anymore and you will have a
small ac icon on the screen that you can just
click it
