The yellow indicator tape is a great idea.
I use a small 2x4 with groves to brace the top open as it has a habit of closing when trying to load it.
My lock mechanism is shot and I can't find one anywhere online. It's a shame!
I am trying to sell mine but can't find the keys to open it. I ordered a new set from amazon with the number that was on it 2982 and they won't work, any other ideas?
Shake up a can of WD40 well. Stick the red straw nozzle into the keyhole and spray it heavily. Put a big scrap cardboard box open under it to catch the stuff when it runs out.
That worked for mine.
How heavy is the carrier itself? My arms are not my strongest body part, so I'm curious about my ability to get it on top of my car... cant find the weight anywhere.
I don’t know the exact weight. Maybe 30 lb if that I would guess. It’s not all that heavy but it’s much more the bulk size of it that is difficult. I can heft it myself (if it’s not windy outside) but it’s much easier with 2 people.
I need help, do you know where I can buy replacement U bolts for this product? Thanks

But if you just need u-bolts only, you can buy threaded rod at Home Depot and cut bend your own for a fraction of the cost if you are handy with things like that. Maybe even get proper sized premade u bolts at home depot depending on what they have.
Thank you for the video; where I can order the keys and the mounting hardware from? Please advise
Find key sellers on eBay. You’ll need the lock number on your lock.
You can buy a full mounting hardware set online just search for it. Otherwise you can probably piece a set together from hardware aisles at Lowe’s or home depot.
Is it annoying to load being a rear latch
Yes the old style side hinge models are a bit easier to load/unload, but it’s not that bad.
Good video, but wished you did a wide shot from the side, and show it mounted on your car.
This was a great film. Well done. “Riveting”!! 😊
