This is a recreation of the Electronic Rock hit "Sail" by AWOLNATION. This LIVE performance features Spencer Jones as the soloist and the 50 person orchestra and 50 person choir from Cinematic Pop. This was the first song that we worked on for this new project. And it was actually the one that got us really excited about what was possible!

This was the song that started it all for us. The first one we where we thought "wow... this concept could work!" This new release is a new spin on a recent Electronic Rock Hit. The original song burst onto the music scene in the last few years and has showed considerable staying power. We feel like our cover version stays stays true to the original and simultaneously presents the song in a totally unique and different way. Hope you like it.

Everything was SO GOOD. I only think the soloist was a little too crisp? for this song. I would have liked a little grittier. His voice is VERY unique though.
He needed a little reverb or something.
That kind of annoyed me too. His timber doesnt get along with the orchestra.

This song to me seems to be made to be played with an orchestra. I agree with the others that I would prefer to have a more raw soloist singing the song. I understand the recording singled him out too much it did not feel organic. I prefer it more when the singer is more integrated in the orchestra.
I thought the opposite? His voice isn't very grunge, sure, but if you're gonna go all orchestral, give me a voice that's at least choir-adjacent.
The more I listen to this version the more I love his voice with this song. Especially the part starting at 2:25 *chefs kiss*

As a rock fan, who also likes some classical, and a bit of electronic, this is such a masterpiece between genres. So much energy and there's no part where it doesn't completely satisfy.
I love how they have to read the lyrics, when it's basically just "SAIL" over and over.

OMG, what a beautiful Symphony and Choir. Ever since I discovered McKenna singing Hallelujah and keyed in on Cinematic Pop, I am totally hooked. Have already purchased your album and still continue to watch and listen on youtube. It is incredible how so many talented artists can become one awesome sound. I am in awe and your director must be the most talented musician of all. Keep doing what you are doing and I will continue to buy your albums and watch on You Tube.

Feel compelled to keep coming back to this rendition of this song. I can't judge this on any technical level music wise, as I admit I am no expert. What I can do, is enjoy it for the entertainment level and know it does not have to compare to the original. It is music to my ears and I applaud the end product. Bravo for this version of contemporary music.

I wonder, will there ever be a way to get just instrumental versions of these covers? It would be great to have a way to just listen to the beautiful orchestration and choir without the distraction of lead vocals.
I may be 2 years late, but what a great take on an already amazing song. Could not have found a better voice! I have been following other covers, but this one is first on the play list!

Very interesting arrangement. I really haven't heard anything about you until seeing you on America's Got Talent. I'm pretty sure your ship will have a plenty of wind in its sails after that. It was a great cover of 'Everybody Wants To Rule The World". Good job. I definitely dig that, and I personally think, that there is a place for you, as an artists, in the music industry, which has been somewhat oversaturated with the typical pop artists. Not that there is something wrong with it, though it would be nice to hear something different. Hey! It worked for Metallica when they did collaboration with the Symphony. People were worried, but it turned out to be a great album. So in short - you are doing a great job. Keep it up. you've got one more sub from me.
