we actually go out and harvest thistle every year to make salads with them. removing the very inner part which looks like a little banana pepper when harvested properly. A quick soak in some cold water to flush out the green taste and a little bit of vinegar for flavor and these things are a great wild edible.
Yes.. many plants are filtration plants.. and you need to be aware of what the land around you is like. In a severe situation like radiation poisoning.. I would change locations
Very cool video thank you. If the land were covered in poison, would water from the plants still be good? I was wondering if they might have their own natural filtering process. where would we get water if there was a disaster such as a radiation fallout.
Great job Dalton! You did an excellent job.. I'm proud of you young Bro

Purple Thistle (Cirsium horridulum).
Wonderful idea!!
As a kid we use to clean it cut it diagonal and pickle young thistle.
I would not have guessed that those aren't poison. I've seen the water in them before. Thanks
HipChix22- According to the website "Eat Your Weeds" it is edible...I would research it myself before indulging!!
Thank you Ill have to find and eat some : )
Your lips said it tasted good, but your face wanted to gag it out
you can just eat that plant. dont spit it out.
It's instruction in water collection. If thirsty/dehydrated, eating will use up water to process that food. It's a survival tech.
