@@LostCauseRanch Well yes, it does LOL. But seriously, it is actually a motor vehicle now. It just needs a few more bits to happen & you can drive it, then a few more bits & it will be finished. I hope you don't have any more supply issues, that really the only limiting factor now.
When you try to print tall thin objects, you should set the printer to make a "raft" adhesive. I sometimes tape it to the heating table when the raft is done.
@@LostCauseRanch I wouldn't bother with a raft, wasteful and slow, just use a brim instead of a skirt, that cylinder wouldn't have fallen over with a brim and you're less likely to have the edges lift on the larger flat pieces, the few minutes of trimming flashing when it's done is nothing compared to the wasted print time, material and frustrating restarts.
Frigging amazing, I now want a 3D printer as well, all of these bits will look awesome in billet aluminium and then powder coated orange LOL. Pleased to see Sasha make a guest appearance, even if it was under protest. Hopefully as the weather improves she will be more willing to come and lend a hand, sorry paw. The old LS3 Defender is coming along nicely, look forward to your next update. 😎👍
Under protest it definitely was. She has seasonal affective disorder (me a touch as well). The printer will be a useful little thing, I should have gotten one earlier.
@@LostCauseRanch You just have to love her, even if she is just a Summer dog ha ha. Seeing what you managed to achieve with your new 3D printer is amazing, I’m sure this will be appearing in many more future episodes, as the options are potentially endless. Keep up the great work. 😎👍
@@LostCauseRanch Just think of all those one off bits you can now create. At least making them in plastic in order to confirm they fit / work etc is fantastic, prior to going to the expense of having them machined out of billet aluminium. I look forward to seeing what amazing one of special parts you now come up with, well there’s a challenge if ever I heard one LOL. 🤗👍
Ok, what kind of bed do you have? This one is glass with pei coating. The wider prints stick well, I cleaned it well and bumped the bed temp and that made a big difference. I’ll grab a glue stick though and try that on some of the skinnier prints.
Hahaha looking good. One of my dogs is a heat hog always sleeping in front of the heater. 3d printer is a good idea. Just think 3 more months and back to the shop build
Your build is awesome I will work on rebuilding my defender 110 1983 and all your videos is very helpful Can you please link the parts that you order it I will appreciate it
very nice looking upset ..i was wandering where did you get the condensor for the A C ? I i have an old mercedes and need one build ...thanks verry much
I just went on to Summit Racings website. They have a pretty good selection that you can weed through by size. For coolers/condensers that is usually how I go about it.
I’ve got a resin printer with some high temp sla, might be great for applications like that. Excellent for making small, high resolution pieces with great durability. Lots of material property options through FormLabs. Let me know if you want to do any experimenting and I can print something’s off for you!
I have heard several UA-cam channels pronounce "alternator" like you. When did this start? Why are so many people leaving out the pronounciation of first 'R' sound? I heard you say it correctly multiple times. Just seems like I hear so many guys on several channels pronouncing it without the first R. Intriguing.
The incorporation of 3D Printing is freaking awesome brother! Loving this build even more and definitely tuned in all the way from the Caribbean
It is fun to mix that in. Should be mega useful. Thanks for following along!
All of a sudden the Defender build looks like it is progressing fast!
It makes a world of difference when I actually work on it doesn’t it? 🤣

Can't wait for your to start wiring up! getting close now...
It is. Rolling right along now. Exciting stuff.

Appreciate the advice, just looked into that. Will definitely use it in the future. Thanks!

Yep she is good stuff for sure. I’m sure we will get plenty of use out of the printer one way or another.

I've had good results with elmer's purple glue stick for adhering the print to the bed, but leaves quite a bit of residue on the bed afterwards.

They do love soaking that stuff up. I’ll tinker with the electrical a little bit during winter yet. We’ve been fairly fortunate on temps so far.

Nice. What type of filament did you print the parts with?
I just used PLA as these are just for fitting up.
Do you plan on permanently using abs prints for the cooler mounts?
I’d like to try it on something. But I’ll more than likely have them made in aluminum.

Interior bits and pieces, plastic spacers, clips and fittings, all possible and more with sla in final finish quality.

I couldn’t even tell you. I’m guessing it comes from local ish dialect. But yes I even catch myself saying it without the R. Funny stuff.
@Lost Cause Ranch Great build by the way.
Well done buddy, looking slick, check your IG messages sir
Appreciate that!
