The show has already demonstrated the appearance shifting ability being possible in this shows universe. For example illumi changing his appearance to look like Hisoka and taking his place in the Phantom Troupe hideout. Someone like pouf who can break himself down to the molecular level being able to mimic someone's appearance and voice makes sense in my opinion.
I do understand that it makes sense, but at the same time it also came outta nowhere. I have the same sentiment as them when I first watched it. If he had that power before, he would've used it in so many different opportunities. He can change appearance & voice... so then why would he need Welfin for the phone call? He can just be both Welfin and Komugi to trick Pitou. Because he couldn't imitate Welfin? He knew of Welfin's personality (Episode 134). I'd say even better than Komugi's because they've been together for longer. What Togashi should've done is made that power something he never knew he could do, or like an evolved form of his power. Kinda like with Cheetu's Bow & Arrow, or Pitou's ability to fasten up Doctor Blythe healing speed. For the record, I'm not a hater. I love this show and it's my favorite shonen, but it doesn't mean it's free from critiques.
Smart nen users don't risk revealing their abilities unless they think it's really necessary though and Pouf has had the advantage up until now. Although I'm not sure why he used Welfin, but maybe it's related to how long it can take manipulators {Illumi) to change themselves. @@JaswiL-_51
@@JaswiL-_51 because he would have to change from welfin to komugi in the middle of calling pitou. It’s not necessary to try that when Welfin’s right there
@@1redfury You talk like it’s a coincidence Pouf is with Welfin. He’s the one seeking out for Welfin in the first place. Which is totally unnecessary when he can just make clones and have them change to both Welfin & Komugi. It’s not that complicated.
I think the show did an "okay" job at explaining "Condition x Condition" and also they only gave us very limited examples and no explanations later on. Nen can be strengthened and even alter reality if the condition is right. Kurapika a person with barely any experience in fighting and should have had very weak nen in comparison to the spiders, was able to beat them, because of the level of grudge and also the really strict condition that does not let him use some of his powers AT ALL with anyone else except the spiders. That condition puts him at a huge disadvantage and makes him very weak when he fights other people. Bisky was much more simple and that was the condition to change her looks at the cost of her strength, which can always be reverted and had that flexibility and her Condition x Condition is the least dangerous. Gon on the other hand as he puts it .... "I don't care if this is the end" ... he made a condition to NEVER have nen again ... to completely use it up ... to basically give up his life energy for the sake of power strong enough to completely destory Pitou. I don't think he had intention of "growing older" but that was what his condition gave him, his maximum potential and what he would be at his best ....
The up and down emotions that Meruem and his royal guard experience, have been one of the most interesting elements of this arc. I’m excited to see how they react to Pitou’s demise.
This is my opinion about Pouf's human-like appearance. The ant looking thing that Knuckle saw at the entrance of the palace is the real pouf. And he just changed his appearance with his ability so what I'm trying to say is that, he's always had this ability since birth (we didn't actually see him break-out of his cocoon).
Yeah that was Pouf being clever af. He cant say game, that would trigger it all. So he took a chance. Plus the King has always loved games and a challenge
@@aceofspade2120I mean, I think that's more of an English thing tbh Pouf used the word "Shõgu", it can be translated as both "contest" or "game", "match"
Meruem isn't allowing himself to be tricked. They cant be deceptive in such a way because he can feel their emotions. It would be like if you knew a loved one was lying, but decided to trust their decision because you know they're acting in your best interest. Except in this scenario, Meruem LITERALLY feels the love of Pouf and Youpi as if it were his own. He's allowing them to "protect" him, but because the amnesia is clearly painful, he's finding ways to make the "horrible" decision anyway.
As far as we know, Nen can do pretty much anything. In that regard it isn't different from any fantasy story. What makes it a better power system than most is that there is a proportional price to pay.
and regarding post-death being crazily overpowered. It is best showcased in the most recent arc in the manga and shown how it can effect the real world. It allowed a single royal family of a small nation to accumulate enough power to rival the strongest countries in the world and even stronger than the hunter association. and all of it was achieved by sacrificing their family members from generation to generation just to strengthen the post-death ability of the first king who died centuries ago.
The King's always been someone that embraces a challenge, so Pouf used that to get him interested. And he knows that certain words can trigger his memories too, so he said "contest" instead of "game". Close enough to almost trigger a memory, but not close enough to make that happen, kinda like a game of Codenames
Mereum lost to Netero because of the nuke, but nobody can even touch this reborn king now. Netero was 1000x stronger than all these other characters. The King is quite literally unstoppable at this point. Moves at the speed of light, and can use other abilities. He can literally kill everyone if he chose to. Nobody stands a chance against him.
I would say the voice changing does make sense. To control your cells and change your vocal cords doesn't seem too farfetched in this world. I mean there's male voice actors with beards and beer bellies that can do kamugis voice right now in the real world lmaoo
Ugh, this part is so frustrating to watch. Pouf just keeps delaying the inevitable adding needless episodes in my opinion. Makes you hate him even more 😂
Gon he is not on 20 years old just his body who transformer about Netiro he took a plant or something like that and eat it cause its give you more years life
The problem with Meruem is that Togashi made him so incredibly strong no one can hope to fight en par with him .... random BS like Rose bomb aside, i'm fairly certain that even if literally EVERYONE else in the entire HxH universe teamed up against him, he would still come up victorious ... that's how strong he is, they needed a Deus Ex Machina to beat him

I can see why Meruem is some of fan’s favorite character of the series. He has been fascinating while scary to watch.
Pouf seems to be the main villain of this arc...not even Meruem, what a devious being.
Annoying being
He reminds me of chimera ant arc fanboys
