The layout, and the whole room, looks fantastic. So great to see trains running again. Kinda makes me want to start over, but i still have so much to learn.
@@erictrainmanone more thing, now that you have a track working, if you would like to send me a clip for my year end viewer submission video, I’d love to add it to what I have.
I must applaud you and your efforts Eric. It's really quite the layout thus far 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 Very impressive. Can't wait to see the continued progress...
Wow looking great!...thanks for showing all of this! Keep the videos coming...I have a super small layout but would like for it to grow so this is great information!
Awesome update, Eric. What a great new train room. It is so exciting to see such great progress and the vision you have for the finished product. Thanks for sharing.
Great update, layout looks amazing, that is a great idea to have the passenger sets in a station on the layout. I feel like if trains are on the table you run it more vs having to get it off a shelf. Those backdrops came out perfect and you are 100% right so much easier to install those with no benchwork or scenery in place.
Merci du partage! Je ne connaissais pas du tout la vapeur que l'on voit en fin de vidéo?? Des Bielles sur un tender, je ne savais pas que cela existait... Rires! Stéph.
Hole E Cow...what a difference. 😃 It looks spectacular...I can't wait to see the elevated section. I live in Maine and can appreciate the beautiful backdrop. Well done ! 👍👍👍
incredible layout progress and update!! It's really beginning to take shape!! Looking forward to more updates as your progress continues!! Great work!!
Very cool update really like the backdrops I’ll have to check them out. Keep up the great progress enjoyed the share . Have a great rest of your day 😎🚂🫵
Trainman how hard is it to put up the backdrop? And what did you use to put it up with far as sticking it to the wall that's my next project is to do backdrops
I used painters tape and double sided carpet tape. The method JDStucks showed. It’s much easier before benchwork is up but lining everything up isn’t easy
You've got a nice layout started and I can't wait to see the progress. I like the broad curves. What size is your room? It looks like a 3 car garage with a side entrance. The flat black ceiling and garage door paint does a good job hiding those. You are smart to have a large yard for long passenger trains. The more trains you have ready to run will make your guest experience much more enjoyable. Your backdrops look great and the eye level video shots of slow trains are appreciated. TJ
Wow! So cool! The sheer size is just amazing. You can do so much with an area like that. Lots of great space for running big trains and it will be fun to see the progress, as you move forward. My basement is over 1600 square feet, but was subdivided by a friend of mine, before I bought the house from her. I thought about taking one room out, to make a 35x24 area for my layout, but I decided against it, to leave a room for my slot cars. Big curves are the way to go and you certainly have the space to really make some real sweepers. My outer main is O96 at one end and a hybrid combination of O96/O72 at the other, since I couldn't find K-LIne O81, anywhere. Either way, your layout is fantastic and I look forward to all of the updates. An excellent video, as always.
Great job! Do you have the approximate dimensions…I am in the process of trying to design a layout in a similar size space (two car garage) just trying to visualize it…thanx
I will say, my Dad had kept it very secretive that MTH had European trains, lol! I have all Lionel O and Marklin HO.... I know MTH has been popular for a long time, but I never even looked at MTH, because I have had Lionel since I was 5. I got into Marklin because my Grandfather worked for Royal Wuttenberg Railways, then came to America to work for Missouri Pacific. My Dad turned 80 this year... worried about dying and my brother-in-law swooping in to take all this trains, he has started sending me box after box of trains... I knew he bought MTH, but I had no clue to the extent.. They are beautiful trains, I wish I wouldn't have been so stubborn and looked at them a long time ago, ha!
Great question. Cork is hard to find right now.. the foam is cheaper and better sound deadening…but harder to install. The foam compresses around screws so you end up with low spots. I prefer cork
It’s not what it was supposed to be. But somewhere along the lines it got changed from a rerun of the k-line, to something else. But I don’t dislike it. The black piping came out great.
I don't see my old comment where you replied so I'm commenting again lol, how did you install or put them up? You use Power Grab?, or a spray adhesive? Or they come with a sticky backing?
They’re just paper. Check out JD Stucks video on the backdrops. I followed his method. You need to be able to move them after sticking to get good alignment
CAN'T WAIT UNTIL IT'S FINISHED!! LOOKING AWESOME!!!💯🚂💯🚂💯❤️
Fantastic update Eric! The backdrops are gorgeous! Wow!! This thing is going to be on the next level! 💯❤️🤩
Thanks, I’m really excited about it!
The layout, and the whole room, looks fantastic. So great to see trains running again. Kinda makes me want to start over, but i still have so much to learn.

I was going to say the layout definelty reminds me of chris's layout. looks great!
Thanks, that's high praise! I stole several ideas from Jason’s too
That’s a nice layout.I like the Track plan
Thanks!
Very nice Eric. I like it. I'm embarking on my next layout currently and it will be nice to get some ideas from what you are doing as well.
Good luck with your project!

Very nice Eric. Congratulations.

Most are the BD HL 880120 and BD HL 880114 set

awesome! I see you use both the Vynal and Cork roadbed. Do you have a preference? Does one work better than the other for sound control?

You need more farmall and international harvester cars 😜
Need more made in o scale!
This looks incredible but help me understand something, what appears to be a 2-car garage conversion looks so much bigger.
It’s a 24x36 workshop with 3 garage door bays
Umm. Do those train tracks have three rails?
Sorry, I’m hyper allergic and have to ask.
I hear ya !
