Final Agni Kai was BEST Agni Kai. If Azula hadn't cheated, I would have loved to see Zuko bring her to her knees and put her in her place. UGH! Man! What a great fight it was.
@CodeBlue Archives - True but Azula wasnt stripped of her bending like Ozai was. As much as a scene showing Zuko making her surrender it wouldn't be as realistic considering firebenders can breathe fire through their mouth and nostrils too. And Azula is generally a stubborn person and Azula's sanity collasping was crucial to this fight and her surrendering would ruin the shatter effect of her frantically failing to escape katara's chain cuffs.

Remember, ATLA held 100% on both critics and audience scores for rotten tomatoes for several years. Only brought down by Karens who think it's cultural appropriation. It's not. It's cultural APPRECIATION! Did they even watch it? It's a celebration and union of our differences that make us stronger.
As an Asian-american and I am all for diversity....ATLA is such rich storytelling and Aang was perfectly cast IMO. Zac killed it.
The amount of references to many Asian cultures is insane. Like combustion man with the third eye is referring to God Shiv in Hindu religion.

From fallen prince, to honourable Firelord. From scared little boy in the ice berg, to Avatar. So many great stories in this series but the coming together of Zuko and Aang was my favourite. Destiny is not a matter of chance; it is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved.

My favorite character is Sokka. Not only because he's the comic relief, but because he also has personality AND he's own character arc. He started as foolish and skeptical and then became more open and careful for the others.

I mean, we know what happened with their mother, but past a certain point in the comics we don’t know what happened to her. We don’t know where she was at the time of LOK(probably dead, but it’s AZULA, so you don’t want to count her out just yet), or who Zuko married, or WHAT HAPPENED TO SOKKA AND SUKI???!!! We NEED to know this stuff, dammit!

Never watched Avatar as a kid. Recently discovered that Dave Filoni took a part in production of this show. After finishing it for first time yesterday I can without a dubt say that this is best animated show I ever watched. Only The Clone Wars comes to similar level IMO.
I finished rewatching it a few days ago and I got really depressed cause there’s no more episodes of it, and in my opinion Korra doesn’t hold up to this great show. I’ll be honest Clone wars is a good second for me in best tv shows.
Fun fact, the guy who played the voice of the wandering nomad who sang secret tunnel directed a few eps of ATLA, and also voices Momo, Appa, and the clones from the Clone Wars
Fullmetal Alchemyst Brotherhood is also close to ATLA in that term.
I first watched it at the age of 27.
Now at the age of 35 I still watch it, recommend it and apply it to many things in life.
Best show Period.
For me is one of the Best shows ever Made animated or not
If you want the truth, I think this show is better watching it as an adult as you can better appreciate the phenomenal character development (ESPECIALLY the character development), character depth, character arcs, character relationships, art direction, imagination, the flashy action, powerful music, amazing animation, threatening villain, and the surprisingly deep, quite mature themes (themes like war, genocide, imperialism, and dictatorship are rarely explored in youth).

The Avatar and the 4 elements have different meanings:
Fire- The power and passion of the user (The discipline of Power)
Air: Speed of the body and a peace of mind (The discipline of Peace of mind)
Water: Flexibility of the body. Move like a calm or a ragging river (Discipline of Movement)
Earth: (Personal favorite of bending) The endurance and strength of the body. (Discipline of Endurance)
But Master all and combine into one: The Avatar has the Fire power, the speed of the Air, flows like a River and can not be broken because they are hard as a rock!

Avatar is one of the only franchises that can Give me Goosebumps off a single soundtrack alone within 5 seconds.
I can't help but cry whenever I see this. I keep thinking about what Aang must have gone trough. During the show he isn't really seen crying (I have seeen the entire show, every episode, I know what happens in it) they just make it look like he is botteling it all up in favor of 'being fine' so he can focus on the war, a war that he was forced to partake in at the age of 11. I imagine that after he takes care of the fire lord, he occasionaly wakes up from a nightmare, bawling his eyes out, and screeming at the wall trying to try process what has happened to him. He lost his familie, his friends, his teachers, his culture, his people. Everything he grew up with, everyone he grew up with: dead. Something like that can't be processed in one day, it can only be bottled up in one day. Aang is gonna have so much mourning to do afther the events of the show. This *child* has so much mourning to do, and non of his friends are even truly supportive about it. I doubt they even get it, given their age when it happened it makes sense in the beginning, but they don't grow more sympathetic over time, they just expect Aang to get over it. And the adults just don't care. Dakota straight up decorated the tent with pelts, and gave Aang meat to eat like he doesn't know airbenders are vegetarians, when there is a temple right next to them. They must still have stories about them. It's only been a 100 years! Their granny is old enough to have heard stories second hand, they knew! But just didn't care. I'm glad that in the comics Aang find some far relatives willing to learn about his culture, that must mean so much to him :) Life is not kind to him.
In the end when Katara and Aang hugged i really thought he was gonna burst into tears

I properly watched Avatar and Legend of Korra pretty recently on Netflix , aged 25 , and i so thoroughly loved both i'm sad i didn't watch them sooner ! :)
The characters are very expressive and in TLOK they really improved the animation , which was already good in ATLA but seemed to lack budget in the beginning .
Avatar the Last Airbender is such an in depth and amazing show. It tells the story arcs of such interesting and well created characters flawlessly. It isn’t too immature and has more variety as for cultures and skin tones then most live action TV shows today. The show provides us with such iconic lines and unforgettable music arrangements, Zuko’s story arc and redemption is just one example along with themes that go along with. But the best part of the whole show is how many important things we can learn from characters such as Uncle Iroh and even Azula herself, one of the show's most iconic villains. Uncle Iroh teaches kindness and Azula portrays the opposite, but she does show us that if we keep hatred in our hearts and are filled by anger we will soon meet our downfall. I will forever be thankful for all the laughs and tear wrenching moments we were so kindly given by the creators. I will never be able to thank these characters enough for the moments we shared. Even if I was a little late, it was still as welcoming and magical as if I was right on time. -- a anonymous fan

The Last Airbender is one of those cartoons that I've never watched until I became an adult, and even then I didn't think it was going to be any good. I'm so glad I'm wrong 😁 one of the greatest shows I've ever seen, and with the perfect ending. Writing this comment while listening to this music is giving me goosebumps 😁
Yes. It's actually more than a kids show. Really has alot of depth. I don't really even see Azula as evil. She was a child that didn't have love in her life

Personal opinion: ATLA was quite better than TLK
TLK focused more on the avatar but ATLA had everything in it. Every character had a great build up. More than that, it was easier to relate with the characters in ATLA. It wasn't too childish nor too mature. Besides, Iroh's advises to Zuko taught us a lot growing up.

I was born in 2007, when Avatar: The Last Airbender came out. My brother (who’s a senior) grew up on this show, and now I’m going to too.
A few weeks ago, I finished this series and I absolutely LOVED IT!!
The character development of these characters (especially Zuko) was astonishing, along with the music and the story. The story was solid and the show had a great tempo to it.
Definitely my favorite show!!

@@ashleypisarts It's a Star Wars TV show. It's good for casual fans too, but it's even better if you're a Star Wars fan. One of the writers on Airbender, Dave Filoni, was called up by the creator of Star Wars, George Lucas, and the two of them created and wrote the show. It's so brilliant, and it ties well into other eras of Star Wars and deals with the mature themes and has amazing writing just like TLA. The best part is that it is twice the length of TLA, and most of the episodes are really good, especially when you get into seasons 4-6. If you are interested, I highly recommend seeing the first 6 SW movies and then getting into the show. Next to Star Wars, the Avatar world is my second favorite fictional universe.

@@lucasbottene4616 legend of korra is also good. Some episodes are best. Whole season 1 and season 3 is good. Also the episodes of avatar wan are good.
But i found unalaq and kuvira arc really boring.
Legend of korra doesn't teaches life lessons as ATLA does.
