La première Star du tennis féminin. Elle a révolutionné le tennis par son jeu ultra offensif, son élégance, son avant gardisme. Des rois et des reines assistaient à ses matchs.
There must be such a sense of history as a player walking onto Centre Court at Wimbledon knowing that Suzanne Lenglen and every legend of tennis has played in it.
Don't count on it. Important tennis matches, if they were filmed at all, were filmed by newsreel companies. They weren't interested in recording full matches--just enough for a few minutes of film. This was the case well into the 1960s.
Unique backhand and my God, those jumps are so unusual for girls today. I would say she was ahead of her time. Incredible and at the same time funny how she played. IMHO!
She is more fun to watch than any of the girls of 2024. Out of all the matches in Roland Garros, there was maybe one match worth watching. I think it is a scandal that they get paid the sale as men. I smile when I see the stadium half empty when the women play, thank you it is only three sets at the most.

Back then they ate natural food. Today our food is laden with preservatives. The preservatives not only preserve the food but they preserve us also. Only a fool would choose to eat organic.
She was mesmerizing to watch. It’s not that she’s unladylike, she’s super ladylike. A graceful mover like Federer. More so.
Incorporating dance into her routine. What a legend.🙂
She was unbeatable
She is lovely ❤amazing grace and talent. So happy I got to see this. No one today in women’s tennis plays that well and gracefully I must say.

PIONEERS WITH GREAT SKILL OF THEM UNBELIEVABLE SHE IS LOVELY🥰
Que lindo vê-lá jogar... Hj o tenis é o q é devido a esses tipos de pessoas, parabens Suzanne-Lenglen!!!
When is somebody going to upload her entire Wimbledon matches? They must be out there.....

Life is a game & champions dance
Tennis would be so much more interesting if it was still like this and with the smaller rackets
fantastique ces images une danseuse jouant au tennis
Glimpses of Steffi hopping around the court!
when did the 'special women's club" thing start?
0:57 Ah the 1920s. So stylish.
Weird how a stadium at the french open is named after her then
How can they move with all that fabric as a tennis outfit.. even the shoes doesn’t provide ankle support. Amazing
👍👏🌹🌹
SHE WAS SASSY!!!
Dans quelle que année qui vient on regarderont les matchs de tennis féminin (torse nu)
0:26 thats federer forehad
The Nellie Melba of tennis!
What interesting is that she only uses her right hand .
Almost only
Wow, she hits much harder than Errani.

they had cameras back then??
You never heard about silent movies??? 😅
The first film ever was in 1895- the workers ending their shift from factory
@@Miss_miss-u3b Those don't seem very interesting.
A breast would pop out on occasion, and Lenglen would casually put it back causing quite an uproar.
How can we get this sort of thing to make a comeback 🤔
@@AinSoph73 Ha ha. I saw that I had a comment on this post and thought it would be mean, but I got a good chuckle at that one.
She was 😂😂😂😂😂😂
The best player of tennis, male or female.
wow no continuous grunting, when tennis was fit to watch
Was she sick? Not to be mean, but even at 20 she looked more than twice her age, every 50 year-old woman I know is way more fresh-faced...
She was a heavy drinker...even played tipsy 😂 she was a savage

Being a "drinker" at 20, is no excuse for looking like a 45 year old failed transvestite ballerina.
Not good.
I gave a 'like' but NOT for that damned music overlay.
A.I generated 😊
How do you know, please?
spoke out of your ass
That's for digging up the video, but seriously, this clown music soundtrack is an insult to this lady's career and achievements.
It's 1920s music, not clown music, and I think it goes well with the video. I quite enjoyed it.
Wow old tennis looks weird af
Is this before the Titanic drowned?
Maybe use google before asking embarrassing questions?! And it's "sunk" not "drowned", people drown, ships are sinking! Lol
