ok ok ok ok lemme get this straight... they be aksing girls with «clown» makeup to try glam, BUT they never aksing the glam girls to try the clown makeup. like just because yo mug different from the fishes dont mean it aint you.

Drag is about NOT following the rules, is about testing your HUGE creativity, setting trends instead of following them. As long you executed your idea with finesse, and polished enough, its drag. To simply impersonate a regular woman is a retrocess to the drag community, and a way to create rules, and stupid patterns, for a movement which ironically consist in running away from those rules. Drag is not that serious. Fishy "drag", to me is a lifestyle for someone who's in the middle, who's identify as gender fluid, periodt. A Drag TV show, shoud glorify creativtness, cleverness and etc. Not just bluntly reduce all the possibilities and ideas to being FISHY, aka image of how a regular woman. That's makes no sense, SPECIALLY artistically speaking. Lol.

they told chad michaels all the time in season 4 that she was to perfect and glam and they asked her to be more gritty and edgier
Actually, in a way they do. They ask them for more personality and silliness. Not necessarily in their makeup, but they're just as critical of queens that are all glam
Honestly i think she won the most hearts, so she's a true winner.

When she came out in that Freddy Krueger ish outfit she became an instant fav but I could clearly see someone else winning. Mid season she really stood out to the judges as well and I so happy she's made it to the top 3. No matter who gets to win, she already won our hearts. #TeamCrystal all the way

I still don't really understand Michelle's comment at the beginning though because her "style" was pretty consistent through the whole season. It was always big cheeks and big lips and big make-up. It was very glamorous clown-like makeup but in a polished way. Soooo idk what she was saying lol
Not sure but there was definitely some polishing performed that makes the features distinct-like the lines and definitions of the shapes were more apparent after the critique.
She painted her lips a *little* smaller, not all the up to her nose.

@@matthewgopez it's still the same style though. Her makeup blueprint didn't really change much for the majority of the season. She still varied the colors and features every time but the main Crystal style was there for almost every look

I hate when they have the girls change their looks to fit into their own box. And Ru constantly telling Heidi to change her name 🙄
Agreed. The road to victory on RPDR tends to be to stick to glamour and throw out ghetto-fabulous or ratchet into it every once in a while. And just paint for glamour every week. It's one of the things that's making this show feel really tired. Once in a while we'll get awesome wild cards like Sharon Needles, Evie Oddly, Crystal, etc., and girls with extremely fun personalities, but even then Ru and Michelle tend to want to see the same thing every time.

no, ru was telling heidi to change her name because when ru asked heidi about her name heidi admitted that she genuinely didnt like it. heidi still mentions on her lives that she is looking to change it but isnt sure because its kind of her brand at this point.

I don’t know if I was that excited before finale - and it’s because I’m waiting for Crystal. She’s beyond anything I can expect from a drag queen. Last time I felt so inspired and struck by RPDR contestant was season 4 and Sharon Needles. But Crystal is way more positive and pure force of nature - true artist.

Michelle is so annoying sometimes when she doesn’t like someone’s brand and forces them to change. I remember when Ross got into an argument with her about making people change.

It seemed like her just saying "oh I didnt think youd make it, it wasnt original, it needed work, I think it was unpolished" and then throwing little tiny peices of positivity in there to swing it back the other direction before making another point. Anyone else get that vibe?
#teamcrystal!! Shes by far the most caring and shows that she can be fluent in all kinds of drag departments. She adapts to the challenges and shows she is not just a one note queen ❤
I’ve never been so in love and intrigued with a drag queen before. Such a unique and caring queen
lmao the bit at the beginning where Michelle tries to weave this narrative that Crystal's makeup was bad and then suddenly it was good. It was good and versatile all the way through, you just wanted to pigeonhole her as hiding behind loud makeup and then had to eat your words when she managed to stay on brand and put a different spin on it each time.
This! Crystal basically said "Sure, I'll show you I can do what you're asking, but then I'm going to do me again and you'll love it."

True. Expect for the improv challenge, I didn't like that for the character or even in general tbh.
Or, perhaps maybe Crystal’s makeup was a little rough in the beginning, but after getting some critiques she tweaked it and allowed her talent to show through. I love crystal too, but In the beginning her makeup was practically illegible. He’ll Crystal even admits it.
Just because she’s weird and unique doesn’t give her a free pass. Concept doesn’t excuse poor execution. Michelle clearly adores Crystal, but don’t be attacking her just because she dares to critique her.
If she was eliminated then I would of had anxiety of who gets miss congeniality.
Now I have anxiety of who will win and I NEED IT TO BE CRYSTAL

I actually love how Crystal wasn’t trying to be hilarious here, she’s just so professional and talented. She genuinely wanted to show off her looks and success instead of selling her character which is what most queens do in these Watcha Packins to get another 7 minutes of fame.
Much like last season, I thought one queen would win until the last minute (Brooke switched to Yvie). This season, I was rooting and thought that Gigi should take the crown... until I became completely infected by Crystal. For me, Crystal has so much more to give. I'm excited to see what the future holds for Crystal and all the crazy things she can do. So... for me.... the decision is clear. Crystal Methyd for the win! xoxo
I agree, I'm bored by Gigi and Jaida, we've seen it. Crystal has always stood out to me, but I fear she is quite similar to Yvie Oddly and that might work against her.
I want Jaida to win simply because I think she's the most polished at this moment, I think Gigi and Crystal both have a lot more to show and really want them on an all-stars season together so we can see their growth
Well, you were blind on Yvie then lol. I just don’t think Crystal has the lip syncing capabilities. Though I’m also not sold on Gigi or Jaida in that department.
@@isoutoforbit Yvie ended up pulling off that absolutely sickening sip sync at the end which sealed the deal. Who knows how the final lip sync will be this year, but I'm worried for Crystal. I wasn't floored by the one time she lip synced. I hope she can pull through though... she definitely CAN turn it if she does it her way. Again... Crystal FTW. She's just so neat :)
@@llcooljay520 I wasn't blind on Yvie... I loved Yvie, but I thought Ru would pick Brooke and I also loved Brooke so I figured she would win.... (I still love that Pam Queer runway as one of the best runways ever). Brooke was sort of the expected winner from early on. It was only until the very end of the season where I officially put Yvie in front. But yes, I'm not sold on Gigi or Jaida either... I think they're great, but Crystal is just so awesome :)
Michelle is just a broken record, because she has a very strict set of bumper guards on what she considers drag, I think. She's supportive in so many ways, but I'm so glad Crystal knew how to do what it took to please her and the other judges and be 100% herself.

Even if she doesn't win, I don't think we need to see her on All Stars. I'd want to, but she's already too good for that.
I think jaida should win this season for being so consistent and making almost all her looks and crystal and Gigi should be brought back for love/drama for all stars 6 with queens like kameron michaels & acid better & peppermint and Kim chi

Crystal Methyd deserves to win the crown this season! Her makeup skills are amazing despite being unappreciated in the show due to drag race aesthetics. She can easily deliver glamour and fish if she only wanted to focus on what the judges wanted to see from her but she made them fall inlove with her brand and her style of drag. Not every queen can pull that off. They may have robbed her of a few challenge wins but she is going to win the entire competition, and that's the win that will matter the most! Having known Crystal since before she did drag, I can honestly say that I don't know a harder working queen. She's so smart and creative and she's grown so much, and Springfield is so proud of her!

Exactly. There is only one type of drag she knows about - which is pageant. She probably doesn't even understand Crystal's choices but she couldn't say anything negative about it because everyone around her, including Ru, loved it.

Michelle says she's "seen it before" about Crystal's original makeup look, but then wants her to change into something everyone's seen before too! I wish the judges would just let the queens compete as they see themselves expressing their own art, and not pressure them to change. Crystal came out of the gate looking amazing, kept it up for the whole competition, and triumphed, in my opinion. I love that she stuck to her guns with her alternative style, never got defensive when they criticized it, and then won them over with her charm and her looks. #TeamCrystal

Would have been so refreshing to see this kind, interesting, relatable queen win during this difficult time. She did her own thing, was pure light and joy, didn’t even consider tearing anyone down, was living her best life, not competing or comparing, no calculated catch phrases, no put downs of others, no boasting, no roasting, no reading, no bullshit, no death drops, no negativity, just letting her light shine and trusting her creative instincts and allowing herself to be vulnerable at all times.

She's the judge that pushes people's boundaries and I love her for that.
Nah she praised the frosted look, purple monster, corpse bride and others. The point of the competition is to push yourself to do things you normally wouldn't. Sometimes you can get comfortable and stuck in a rut, once crystal started going all out with her make up she was praised for versatility even though it was all out of the box.

Crystal is so refreshing to watch, it was so needed. Again, the whole RPDR team did a good job with this season. It has been a strong one, with amazing talented queens.
I really love that these fashion episodes are a way for Michelle to shower the girls in compliments and validation. It feels right and it feels good and im here for it.
