Looks like I'll have a new weekend project. Just got a 2017 Colorado and not happy with the minimal storage under the back seat. Can't even fit my small air inflator. Thanks for the tip.
Saw this and immediately did it to my colorado. I noticed the metal straps that were still in the way are removable from the underside of the square tubing seat support. It seems plenty sturdy without them.
Do you have any more info on how to remove the metal straps that are underneath the plastic storage unit? I'm looking into getting a Colorado, but having room for my dogs in the back is key! The whole storage unit gets in the way of that for sure
This is EXCELLENT. I'm looking into getting a ZR2. Currently have a 3rd Gen Silverado and I always hated how GM did rear under-seat storage in later generations. This is actually a perfect solution because you increase space that GM took from you but you still have a way to contain everything.
I almost did that with my ZR2 but then got my stimulus check lol. Ended up putting the esp safe box. Feel much better having all the usable space and it is nice to keep my freedom suppliers locked when I'm going into a store or restaurant. I will say it would have been nice to retain The edge cubbies but overall stoked
Been watching videos all day and this is the best one I’ve watched all day. Easy and free.
Ya that's a good idea I have seen some after market lock boxes that fit under the rear seat good storage
I had this thought in my head once, never looked back at it, looks like i'm def doing this!
It's worth it 👍

Brilliant, I'm going to do this today to mine!

Definitely a great route to go👍
Almost did this but decided I want to build a wood box. After seeing how easy this was may go back to this route
Cool. Super simple
Love these types of videos! Great tip!
Thanks dude👍
YES!! Thanks!
.....Excellent Job.....
Awesome job man! Thanks
Thanks dude 👍
Good thinking!!!
I'd put some removable crate foam across... to keep that stuff from shifting and rattling around.
Thanks for the input 👍
Great job
Thanks 👍
I saw the title of this video and thought it was going to be a gimmick, video, I was wrong, damn, I'm about to go do this to my backseat right now.
Haha. Hell ya 🤘
I have the Ext Cab, can't do this, one of the things I don't like about the ext cab.
It looks good...My question is how can you secure it if you are considering that option
Either build a cover for it that can lock, or just spend the money to upgrade to the ESP safe box
Awesome man!
Hot damn. Why couldn’t Chevy think about themselves. All that extra plastic it’s just a waste of space.
Common sense isn't so common. We know that haha
to think Chevy couldn't figure that out .
👍👍👍👍👍
But what about the inverter? Haha
Overlander status soon! Haha
