Nice overview of brilliance AI. My main setting is the AI match (simulating the jpg look stored by the camera in the raw file) just as a starting point for further editing.
@@takebetterphotos8132 good enough for a starting point. For normal color modes it does a pretty good job to mimic the jpg look as long as no special looks are active (monochrome, diorama, vintage...). Last jpg vs ai match comparison is a while ago but it's definitely very close.
Finally something on Portrait Editing, I have another question for you concerning presets. Do On1 raw have any presets like Lightroom has for portraits? It seems like 95% of all the writing on youtube only deals with Landscape photos when it comes to ON1 Raw. I have to admit one of the luring things about Lightroom is the writers aren't afraid to deal with editing portraits on a daily basis. The presets that deal with the face and individual parts of the face and body are very very appealing but it seems like on1 can do the same thing it just needs to be talked about more. I prefer to stay in On1 unless I have to go into Photoshop or Neo. Can you discuss apples to apples Lightroom's workflow vs On1 workflow? Tell me what you think and how can I make On1 act as if it was lightroom.
Thanks for your comment. The main difference is Lighrroom has AI which can automatically maskeyes, hair, face, etc... Therefore it is possible to create a preset to adjust such automatically. ON1's technology was just recently released, it can apply portrait ai to a limited extent but not to the level of detail as lightroom. However it is an interesting question. I'll investigate how far lightroom portrait technology can go.
Hi, can you create a video showing how to edit a studio female face portrait by using all of these steps Layers in ON1 Blemishes remove Skin Tone Gradient Contrast (using levels) Discoloration on lips Dodge and Burn Contrast with (levels) Skin Tone uniform (using Gradient) Eye shine Rear light Jaw light Lip color boost Cheek redness Reduce highlights (using levels)@@takebetterphotos8132
It seems not but further checking, I think the issue might be a white balance matter. BRILLIANCE seems to default to "auto" but if, I change that to "as shot", the tint disappears @@takebetterphotos8132
Keep them coming! THX!
Hope to do so!
Great review of editing with brilliance AI and making adjustments where needed
Much appreciated!
You can also use the curves effect on the Effects tab for fine tuning the basic exposure corrections done by the Brilliance AI tool.
Thanks for the tip!
Good demonstration of Brilliance AI … thanks. 👍
Much appreciated!

thanks for the tip. I have not tried that. Do you find it to be accurate?

Nicely done
Thanks for the visit
the biggest issue with BAI is the masking of regions is so bad compared to Lightroom Classic and Camera Raw
Yes definitely no where near as accurate. ON1 reduces the opacity so the adjustments are not so obvious.
just noticed ON1 Raw 2024 BRILLIANCE AI produces tinted image from APPLE RAW (DNG)
Thanks for the feedback. Is it correctable with tone adjustments?

So it seems to be correctible through white balance. I guess thats still acceptable😊
