NIRA TO INCORPORATE IRIS SCANNING IN NATIONAL ID REGISTRATION

National identification registrations Authority will start incorporating iris in capturing biometric data for people registering to acquire national IDS.
The executive director NIRA Rose Mary Kisembo says they had 1 million people in the register that did not satisfy their figure print but the authority also uses face to capture the bio data.
He was appearing before the committee on statutory authorities and state enterprises to answer queries in the auditor general’s report for 2022/23.
