Another very talented craftsman , the film industry is nowhere without these men and women , unsung heroes !! Thanks for posting these clips , THANK YOU
So many scenes I’d never even consider being miniatures are in hindsight obvious as the most economical approach, but it’s a testament to the staggering talent of these people that it all went by unnoticed. Until now!
Piercefilm, you are so generous with this material, putting it on youtube.. I own two copies of Sense of Scale, and would gladly purchase a new film, or vol. 2, if you released one.
Thank you so much for putting this up online! I searched a couple weeks ago for a copy of Sense of Scale and wasn't able to find a way to buy it online. This at least gives me a way to see some of what was in that documentary!
The DVD is sold out. But I am uploading the entire extended 12+ hour doc online here, so you will be seeing much more than on the DVD. A new segment every week!
@@piercefilm That is excellent to hear! Again, thanks so much for assembling this tribute to miniatures in film making. Model making is my biggest passion in life and the reason for it is because of the miniatures built for bringing my favorite movies to life. The BTS stuff from the model shop in the DVDs is always my first stop in the bonus features!
It's a shame that you can't include the final shots in these clips. It's hard to argue Fair Use with the UA-cam bots. They'd tear through your channel like this demolition robot!
okey pircefilm the vvorks is Biutiful and dedicatuon absolubly fantastics ebrising and escale miniaturas in movies is real biurifore the reaction video tanks you very much okey guys bye
They cost a fortune and I am not working for the studios. This is an independent doc on a low budget. Also, this is more about the model makers and their work. The studios have "making of`s" on their DVD´s.

Thanks! I'm always happy to hear people are enjoying the documentary. Lots more coming up!
@@piercefilm - glad hear this. I am very impressed with the series. Been a fan of sci-fi movie models ever since if first saw 2001 and Silent Running.

I really thought that was a real house with the huge mechanical prop.
Love this channel.
Thanks! More coming soon.
but the result was worth it. Great scene.
Toronto is still a ghetto for low budget movies of the week and romantic comedies.
I,Robot still freaks me out to this day and I’m only 22
you should try speak to the model makers that worked on Dark City and The Crow
If I could get to Australia it would be great to interview some model makers there about Dark City.

Almost all scenes can be found on UA-cam. ua-cam.com/video/rkaXuC5hrCE/v-deo.html

I always thought that the CG in iRobot was so phony looking.
Here's the scene!

Awesome work.
Thanks!
Some actual film clips would be nice.

@@piercefilm Understood and I wasn't being critical. I enjoy watching the process and the level of detail that the modellers achieve.
Thank you so much for sharing this behind the scene!!
