Machinist here, thats a center, either "live" or "dead". Live centers have ball bearing heads and spin freely. Dead centers are solid one piece construction. It may be worth some $$$, if it's made by a reputable brand like Hardinge or Royal. Hope this helps. 👍

Think the original asking price was $280k and reduced to sell for $240k. So $200k was a bargain after getting generous help with all of the work needed with more to follow no doubt.

This is a perfect example of COMMUNITY, something the World is getting away from,but everyone is longing for because it's natural and how human beings are suppose to exist.
In this case I think it probably has a lot to do with the environment being so harsh. People in the suburbs/city are too busy and too comfortable to appreciate each other. My wife thinks I'm nuts for wanting to buy a desert homestead, but this is one reason why.
@@ribbles1699 it's designed that way, the more World advances technologically the less human we are and the more apart we are from each other. This is the middle, we have desire to go back and be part of community BUT we live apart in technology, pretty soon it's just gonna shift to just apart & technology and humans won't be human anymore,probably just robots. So get that homestead while you still can and savor the time you have left.
Mike's right about all those manuals! I look for them every chance I get at yard sales and flea markets and get solid money for them. Especially those for the older muscle cars and Harleys...

I am so happy you got Mike to come out and help out. Adding the porch roof for shade was great. But with the winds you get, seeing the bracing finally installed is a relief! Ive been waiting for you come back from a road trip to find that the wind had taken its toll on the roof. And you have taste, i installed the same exact doors on my place and used that vinyl to get privacy too. You're going to find that not only will the sand be less of a problem. But your heating and cooling are good going to be more efficient. Mike's right about the parts and manuals. I paid 75.00 a piece for 1965 Buick Gran Sport manuals. And didn't blink an eye. Without them its really hard to get your restoration perfect. You really are sitting on a gold mine. Always great to see Mike, he's just good people.

Depending on the brand and type it can cost between 100 and over a $1000 Since it looks like it's in the box it came in you could look up the model and find out what they go for. The headers also depending on the brand and type it can cost between 200 and 500. That welder looked sweet. I can see it's a Century but I cant tell what type. Tungsten inert gas "TIG" go for the most money usually.

There used to be a place in So Cal, called Pinnacle Peak, they served up a steak that was bigger than the plate, with Beans, if you wore a tie in there they would cut it off, and display the ragged end on the ceiling, along with your business card. This place reminds of that.
