filipino here, but i agree with the result. i don't care about translation issues. it's clear the judges were banking on not just english fluency, but also nonverbal qualities. ms. thailand showed those nonverbal qualities, the IT factor, to be crowned ms. international 2019 in spades. ms. thailand's speech certainly was not as sophisticated as ms. philippines', but it was certainly more heartfelt. no artificial big words to try to impress the judges. she just spoke the truth from her heart. ms. thailand touched the hearts of the japanese people with her authenticity and simplicity. she may not have patch's seasoned beauty pageant confidence and sophisticated prepared speech in fluent english, but she certainly has a very inspiring appeal

Hi Siera! Love watching your videos ! I watched MI live and I was also really surprised with the results. I had Thailand in my top 5 , her win was a surprise but oh boy ! This girl’s beauty and charisma marinates ! The more you see her , the more you spend time with her the more you are convinced that she totally deserves the crown. Really super warm and charming. Her nickname is BINT , and just a bit of a back story from my Thai Friends, she only won Ms Thailand 28 days before the MI. And she was criticized in Thailand for being “chubby” , and worked really hard to train and lost 20lbs in 28 days! I dont know how she did it , neither was it necessary (personal opinion) but I believe this showed her grit and determination to make her country proud. Also the Thai team were so behaved during the pageant. Ive been briefed before that Japanese organizers frown upon on rowdy fans, and that might have been one minus factor for the chances of Patch. There was so much unnecessary screaming from the fans. I think the expected demeanor For audience is to clap cheer and scream only when ur candidate is on stage during her part. From her interviewed she told herself that she was here not for a winner, but to enjoy herself to do best in her duty and with interview she liked to pretend she spoke to her friends and tell her story thats all. Thats why she was not nervous bcoz she didn't expect to win. Thats how she reduced her stress.

Her speech was really touching and heartfelt ..I was concerned at first that her English wasn't so strong as she never lived abroad and was educated locally at a Thai university. But this comes to prove that judges weren't looking for someone with perfect English but rather sincerity and humbleness which shone through perfectly in this case. A little more information of Miss Thailand She is Miss Thailand who has returned to export in many years since 2000. After the first Miss Thai stage, which uses the Thai name "Nang Sow Thai", in which, before the winner will be the Miss Universe pageant Allowing Thailand to have 2 Miss Universe 1965 and 1988. Miss Thailand 2019 Is a beautiful woman who has never entered any contest She therefore has a very high nature. There is no invention of the other Miss Beauty pattern. Congratulations to the new Miss International. ♥️👏🙏🙏
From the beginning of the Competition my faves were Patch from the Philippines and P'Bint from Thailand who also was my dark horse that no one seemed to have on their radar other then me and thai people either way much love from Japan,Osaka I wish both would have been in the Top 5 along with Mexico , Uganda and UK and also I have been right so far because my Girl Nellys won Miss Earth and My Girl Alejandra won Miss Globe I do not watch Miss Grand International but I can't wait to see who the other queens of the year will be.

Congratulations Miss Thailand! Of course I would have loved the Philippines to win, but I respect the judges’ decision. Miss Thailand seems to be a perfect Miss International. For the speech, I think the simpler, the better. Patch has a better chance at Miss World or Miss U.
She is actually lovely and has a pleasant aura. But we just can't thought that Philippines has no placement in top 5 which is a big big question. We really thought that Philippines will be crowned again as Miss International. 💔 Anyways, God bless to her next 12- month endeavors. ❤️
For me the results were unexpected and it was a nice surprise and that made it an amazing competition because of the unpredictability 😀 My only disappointment was Philippines non top 4 placement :( she was so well spoken/ educated and accomplished and on top complete Barbie doll. Btw I’m not from the Philippines But I support what’s there to support without bias
Knowing all of the great and positive experiences you have had in your years competing in beauty pageants, and then considering all of the bad things , especially the criticizing nature of judging, and the issues you’ve experienced with body shaming: 1). If Lily wants to start competing at about 15, would you let her? Or would you make her wait to 18? 2). I know if she chose to start competing that you would be supportive. But would you try to encourage or discourage her? 3). Would you be a good pageant mom or a nightmare one? LOL 4). Do you think that girls whose mothers were big-time beauty queens have a difficult time being comfortable with their own looks? Being a teenager is uncomfortable at best. But Lily will always know that her mother was in the Top 9 of MU2016. That must be a daunting thing for a young girl or woman, as there are some bound to be comparison comments made.
Why don't we ever see former internationals winners try to compete for other international titles? Like why hasn't a former Miss World ever tried to compete for Miss Universe, etc.? Are they allowed to do this? Or has it happened? Thank you!

Hi, sharing my rhoughts about her winning. First, I think she is nice, beautiful, and an inspiring queen . Her winning was really a surprise but obviously, we cant do anything about it but still debatable if shes really deserving. What really triggered me to comment is the comments and your thought that her answer was more sincere and inspiring. I dont hate her but was her answer really sincere? Or was it just the product of her being nervous and has nothing much to say because her brrain isnt working well because shes still was surprised she was included in Top 8. Another thing is about her answer being more inspiring. Whats there to be inspired of? Haha. Cmon, her answer was a common issu^ if not all but of the beauty contestants jn the whole world. That theyre not worthy to represent their country, to follow their dreams, dare to conquer your fears.. These have been used by so many people not only in beauty pageants. Haha. Its like a classroom scenario where your teacher surprises y'all with oral recitation. There you are doing your best to remember what youve learned in a most gracegul and calm waythen theres your classmate who went to a party yesterday and was shocked shes been called and has nothing much to say and has been swallowed by her nervousness so she begins to be teary eyed and her lips trembling. And Phillipines speech may have seemed rehearsed but it was she who wrote it ultimately😅 the English may have been too complex but lets not forget that Patch is a lawyer! Its obvious she will tend to think out things in good English. However I don't think Thailand was chosen just because of her speech. MIO judges people on their behavior during the activities and Thailand was very since and sweet for them. Look at the crowning reaction from other contestants! They were all genuinely happy for her. So she must have had that spark since day 1 of the pageant that MIO noticed

John Malaluan I understand where you’re coming from, I am happy for Miss Thailand and think she did a sweet speech but I hate it when ppl say that Patch’s and Jolene’s speech sounded fake or not natural or not sincere. I mean it’s a speech after all. It’s supposed to have a bit of formality right? So the ones who use better and more sophisticated words are called ‘not natural’ ? And I personally liked Patch’s and Jolene’s speech more is because I feel like I learn something new. Patch’s speech is very informative and Jolene’s speech about that Japanese word that means to give more than they can ever imagine is new and interesting to me too. I feel like Miss Thailand’s speech is mostly about herself, which I guess some people (and the judges on the night) prefer that, so I understand everyone likes different things. Tbh when Kevin won in 2017, her speech is also more like a speech than a personal experience, she talked about Indonesia’s philosophy and she delivered it in a more formal way than a relatable personal way so tbh I don’t know what the judges want 😂

We need to understand the pagents...and what they want in a winner....she was what miss international needs.....patch and miss thailand had miss universe answers....rest all who were runner up if u hear their speach they were their real self....i too was rooting fr patch but to be true it didnot bring out what she is truly in her answer it was the best but not miss international worthy

Tbh when Kevin won in 2017, her speech is also more like a speech than a personal experience, she talked about Indonesia’s philosophy and she delivered it in a more formal way than a relatable personal way so tbh I don’t know what the judges want 😂

Its about delivering the speech the best way they can amidst the pressure and nervousness and I know thats patt of their training. And its obvious she was surprised she got in the Top 8 that why she delivered her speech in a casual and teary eyed way. Thats what I think happened to her. Nah, I dont buy that more sincere or more inspiring comprehension of the commentors and Siera's. Haha Bt I respect thsm. Lets just accept the fact that we all have diff intellectual capacity and comprehension. We need to understand the pagents...and what they want in a winner....she was what miss international needs.....patch and miss thailand had miss universe answers....rest all who were runner up if u hear their speach they were their real self....i too was rooting fr patch but to be true it didnot bring out what she is truly in her answer it was the best but not miss international worthy
