Jealousy is a helluva drug. Both men were jealous of their successful partners. A 30 yr. old man getting coddled by his mother is embarrassing & ridiculous. 🙄 He should've deleted himself instead of her for being a loser. As for the has been... that's why he was mad because he was irrelevant ASF. 😒

It's so sad how this turned out. But he was absolutely valid in leaving an industry that rips off poor black kids constantly. I can't imagine what it was like to have all that fame but nothing to show for it. Most of the tragedies we see when it comes to celebrities could be avoided if the industry wasn't predatory in the first place. The toll that takes on us isn't talked about enough. What a terrible tragedy but God is judging all that is done in secret.

@@keepitreal1339 Nah, you weren't paying attention. It was their 3rd album and they were only making $60,000 apiece after going gold twice. No other business professional is expected to settle for so little, especially after having successes. But we tell our own to settle for less and be taken advantage of, WRONG.
Additionally, New Edition had to fight for fair pay. None of Hi-Five's members wanted to rock the boat. Two completely different situations but both indicate that the record companies rip off black artists, which is the point. I wouldn't ask you to settle for pennies in your profession, so stop asking black talent to do the same.

So my first take away from this video, is that Tony Thompson and Tristen Irby were the ONLY ones who could sing in Hi-Five.
The second thing is that monsters are real. Instead of being the one's from bedtime or ghost stories, they can appear in human form. Russell Neal is indeed a monster in the flesh.

In November 2005 in a live studio radio interview, it was Tony Thompson, along with four members of his newly reformed Hi-5 group, interviewed with New York talk show host Wendy Wms., this is when a call comes into radio station while on air from enraged ex-member 😡Treston Irby, a former first Hi-5 replacement, he was a quick fix, and due expulsion of talented R&B original/founding member 16 yr. old Toriano Easley (‘89-90) as this group’s debut album Hi-Five was finished and ready for release, first single “Just Can’t Handle it” already released (Aug.1990) and video were doing very well… On air it was Tony who said of Irby’s singing ability “he can’t sing… he had a few speaking parts, and if you don’t believe [it, me] then ask Clive Calder […] at Jive records” Calder was the CEO of Jive Records, who’s said to have had a hand on any music recorded at Jive.. and the master mind behind Backstreet Boys Britney Spears NCYNC..: this trio turned him into a billionaire that nobody knows… Tony alone is the same caliber as this trio.. and he was the only reason for High Five aka Hi-V in the first place.. those other members were part of the strategy too promote Lil Tony before a solo career “I want a little kid like Michael [Jackson]” from Hi-5 Unsung (2014).. It seem Irby came to realize “it’s always about him” meaning Tony who could sing and a natural talent. This group started out initially under direction per a production deal (Nov. ‘89) with their first management (Ford & Bell) record deal made with Jive/RCA record company. The Hi-5 group was built around Tony Thompson (friends, family). All those classics from the 3/albums recorded 1990 1992 1993 are a compilation, the Hi-Five “Greatest Hits” final album (1994) plus his debut 1995 solo album “Sexsational” and his 2005 project “The Return” truly is Tony Thompson’s legacy as phenomenal recording industry artists, and everlasting music will continue to live on bcz of brilliance in vocals recordings, and history will eventually show his rightful place amongst R&B genre music as a 🐐💯

What the heck is wrong with the mother…. She was way too calm, collected, and not surprised or shocked in her response. Her son killed someone and she was talking to him like he was In kindergarten and was calling her from the principal office. He was definitely a mommas boy. Stay away from those mommas boys they usually have deep issues with women stemming from a crazy relationship with their mother. And their arrogance more than likely came from having a medical doctor mom and dad who was a lawyer….they were probably spoiled and felt “entitled/uppidy”

@@julslatt6294. I am so sick of plp like you who think that someone is above doing wrong or being wrong just because they have a title, money, fame, education, or is a church member/clergy/pastor/deacon. It is a fact that Narcissists and other disturbed individuals hide behind those titles like wolves in sheep clothing. The fact that he wanted to speak with his mother (for comfort) after deliberately killing his wife was not normal and neither was his mother’s response to it. Maybe he should’ve called his MOMMA before he killed his wife. The fact that she is the late mother of this murderer means nothing because his wife was the LATE mother of his children and a beautiful sister, friend, and person who was robbed of having a relationship with her children and family. You can focus on sympathy for the devil but I feel others can learn a lesson from the tragedy and that lesson is…. WATCH OUT FOR MOMMAS BOYS who have unhealthy and weird relationships with their mothers and/or mothers who have weird attachments with their sons. Both of her sons KILLED their wife/children’s mother. Only one son had a moment of fame which is irrelevant to him choosing to kill. That Norman Bates stuff is real sir.

I've been following the Hi-5 story for awhile. Like most others, I had the major hots for Tony, and Pooh was a cutie as well. Russ was attractive but seemed arrogant even then. These boys seemed cursed like the cast of the original Little Rascals. It goes back to the idea that the industry, music as well as TV and film, takes advantage of their young, inexperienced stars and then leaves them with no direction when things began to wind down. I wholeheartedly agree that Russell and Ronald Neal were demented mama's boys who had no idea how to behave like mature men and somehow both had the notion it was ok to take it out on their loving partners. I hope that the Neal Brothers get plenty of punishment on the inside for their demonic behavior. May Tony and Pooh, Catherine and Styvonne rest in eternal peace.

Although their mothers are not here, their love and devotion to them isn't forgotten. I hope the system finds out what triggered these men to do the unthinkable and take away these children's mothers. These men had no right at all to bring harm and now the kids suffer without their birth mother who will always be in their hearts and having their grandmother and aunts care for them. I pray for justice ⚖️⚖️⚖️⚖️ for both of these young ladies (strength, love, encouragement, forgiveness from God) so they can move past this tragedy. I pray for Roderick "Pooh" Clark's family as they deal with his passing after being in a terrible car accident that put him out of the music 🎶🎶 industry. I loved Hi-5! Russell was a P.O.S. who was a jealous and arrogant has been. Instead of supporting his partner he chose to make this permanent decision smh How unfortunate for their children to be without their beloved mother. May Catherine, Stovyne, Tony and Pooh be at peace.

I used to love this group. My favorite members were Tony and Pooh. I hated Russell, he just seemed so arrogant to me and I didn’t see the purpose he served in the group. My favorite songs were I can’t wait another minute and Never should’ve let you go. I still have those in heavy rotation.I will never forget the night I watched the premiere of their Unsung episode. I love that show and live for the new episodes, even though you know most of the story it’s great tv. This episode was different because as I’m watching I hated Russell even more listening to him. He was only with the group a few years and made no big contribution, so I was pissed he was causing so much trouble for the short time he was there. . I was more pissed that Pooh wasn’t included in the episode when he was still alive then. I saw this story on True Crime and became livid that two brothers in one home with the same mom,who had coddled her sons so much, that she made them entitled, spoiled, angry, demanding little boys. A son who has a wife and home that mom pays the bills for. I wish so much she would’ve seen that if he wasn’t working because he hadn’t been required to, he wasn’t gonna start being a man and working because he got married. Listening to his mom speak to him on that phone made me want to shake and slap her for being the horrible mom she is. She talked to him as if he hadn’t done anything wrong. Russell followed his lead and it had been pre set for him. I hope he has been declared competent and faced the murder he committed. Wherever he is I wonder why do the angry inmates not attack and kill people like him, where is the dude that took out Jeffrey dahmer? I feel bad for the 2 women and the children they left behind.Thank God Catherine’s family got her kids from his mom. I really hate she felt he was going to save her when he hadn’t saved or taken care of himself. RIP to the women and prayers for the kids and families.
