Maybe *This* is the correction. Historically, you'd hear a lot of talent talking about working through an injury... Maybe this sudden rise in injuries is more wrestlers being in a culture where it's ok to be like "hey I'm hurt I need some time off to recover" It's not that more wrestlers are suddenly being hurt, it's just becoming ok to step away for a while if you are hurt.
My nephews wanted to go to a WWE taping of raw and I convinced them to skip that and go to a live event that was being held at a local arena, and exactly what I expected happened. They had a fantastic time, got to meet and interact with the wrestlers more than they ever would have at a TV taping, and you got to see the true personality of the wrestlers come out. I hate the TV tapings, but I will always love going to real live shows as long as there is no TV.

Like that previously people just continued performing with injuries and stuff, but now they take it more seriously to give people time to recover.
Therefore we might have now more announcements of wrestlers taking time off to heal than before, but the numbers itself didn't really change. Just some thoughts...

The tournament is pointless. It used to be a pedestal to elevate talent to championship status, now it's just another lame gimmick.
AEW always had injuries. I think part of the injury issues in WWE are due to stronger and stiffer wrestling. Not that people are working too rough, but people are trying to make things look real especially in terms of animosity and aggression. I think this could be the issue, but it does make it better and it seems like it’s something the wrestlers want to do and the fans enjoy. As long as there are no career ending injuries then I think it’s just part of the sport and the wrestlers know this and are willing to entertain regardless.

Super bummed that Zelina Vega got injured and won't be part of the Queen of the Ring Tournament, I was really excited to see her go to the finals so she can become 2-Time Queen. Man, my dream wish of seeing both Zelina & Xavier retaining their titles and remaining as King & Queen for another year has been crushed, feel so sorry for them, I hope they feel better soon. They'll forever and always be my #1 favorite King & Queen. And Maxxine, you better beat down Shayna tonight, I'll be rooting for you!!!!
Aside from that, I'm happy Jey Uso gets to keep the Firefly entrance piece for his entrance, that moment is still my #1 favorite from Backlash and it was so awesome and magical, totally fire and it looks so cool on Jey!!!

I've said it before. UFC and WWE should never collaborate. People are crazy if they think a UFC fighter's career would not suffer after "wrestling"on WWE programming. I like professional wrestling for what it is, but what it is not is actual combat. UFC and WWE are on complete opposite ends of the spectrum and should stay that way.

The only thing that a WWE UFC bout should do is highlight both sides. Obviously someone like Shayna would work since she's done MMA/UFC fights, but it's still easier to learn to throw a punch and make it look real vs having a real timed fight
Aew had Dan Lambert and American Top Team in AEW.. it was like a team aew vs top team story line. I don't see why UFC and Dana can't do a similar story line in WWE. Dan Lambert cut awesome heel promos and roasted Tony Khan, too.

As far as the wrestlers getting hurt it is because they wait so long to get any medical care because if they take time off to recover they lose any momentum that they were building when they come back. Who wants to be on top and then come back to sit in the back. Seth voiced that concern once, twice, and then had no choice. CM Punk is being smart by staying at events to keep his character relevant. It is sad that Bliss really has no choice and let's face it. When she made her last return when they took her out of the storyline with Bray, they left her in the back then she gets the match with Bianca. She was floundering before she left. The only thing I can see about the merging of the companies is that more of the less seen talent will get buried further. I think what Jey is saying is disrespectful to Bray's memory but that is not a surprise that WWE would allow it since they have done that to many of the past wrestlers who have passed on, Eddie is one, Owen was a big one, just continue the show even though he died in the ring. Some of the story lines need to stay from exploiting someone's weaknesses or the death in the family.
