Totem Poles are very interesting. They are very important for native american culture. We have learned many things through totem poles. They tell us about the native american's experiences in life.
We used animal bones from whales, beaver and anything like that because metal was not thought to be used as digging the earth was disrespectful and destructive.

The wood chips cut from the tree go to cedar weaveing and such, the boughs are made into wreaths for canoes and for smudging and praying. Could the changing pole design be from Mexicans, well they weren't Mexicans back then moving in and killing the tribes of North of the Rio Grande coming up from South American jungle temple pyramids. That's what the carvings look like a South American jungle temple pyramid carvings. Compared to Plains Indians artwork. Perhaps those pyramid people were trying to spread the religion of the Jungle tribes to the northern tribes. Thus claiming the area of the Plains Indians with religious supposed Heritage artifacts? And therefore the whole territory is from the pyramid via the artwork as would be claimed of The Emperor's or whatever of the pyramids. I don't think that South American and such people are related to the Plains Indians as aren't the plains Indians related to the eskimos. I think they all had possible different means of traveling to this continent. Possibly hunting seals on ice flows in whenever a thaw, they could just jump from floating ice to floating ice, hunting seals and thus they traveled 40 or 50 miles reaching the other land and they did this for so long that they just set up on this continent. Without realizing it was a different land. Others could have ridden large flotillas of flood debris of which they might have lived on it might have been a game it might have been an adventure and that that debris just floated away if they were large islands and they ended up who knows where possibly California. Possibly Mexico and all that desert area there they might have land that flotillas might have landed there and what is now considered the American Indian would have inhabited that area along with California depends on how many people maybe they were living on those flotillas for some reason just like people living on boats maybe it was more comfortable than land or something but if they did the American Indian cover this whole area and what is considered Mexicans or the curly haired people of South America while they might have walked across during the super ice age and built temples in the jungles glad to be away from the dry land of the area they crossed that had no shade. It could have been when the Americans Plains Indians were living around southern Mexico. And the jungle temple Indians could have found them. And being more of a consolidated or organized war unit from living in a more formal society could have attacked the American Indians and drove them farther up to where they are now.
