Middlesbrough where I am from had a large immigrant influx with the industrial revolution from places like Ireland that came for all the hard work. The mix of cultures, hard work and heavy drinking created a bad culture of roughness and once the work slowed down it became worse. Middlesbrough is more a mess now with Asian immigrants that also don’t have any work, the government send immigrants there because there’s plenty of cheap housing. Outside Middlesbrough the countryside is absolutely gorgeous.
Everywhere in the UK is getting a bit like that now....
Shaun you are one of the best podcasters in the game mate. Please use your intelligence and listen to your viewers who leave comments and don’t let Jamie ruin anymore guests podcast. I’ve nothing against Jamie I’ve read a few of his books but his only interest is promoting them via your channel. You have had a handful of interesting characters on your show accompanied by Jamie and he has ruined every podcast interrupting and talking over the guest. He’s a hard working author but he’s a very ignorant man with no care about anything but himself and his books. Unbearable watch.

Yep, I was born in England and have lived here all my life and I am aged 33 and I had never heard of Lee Duffy until Jamie's channel popped up.

Very rarely see coppers on the beat around South bank and Eston areas now. If you do they are on the way to a job not just walking or driving about. Also this should be titled Jamie Boyle supported by ex police officer, he keeps jumping in too much as Ray is talking.
It's like David Brent joined the interview.. interrupting, bringing subject back to him and then taking over the whole interview, I was expecting the guy in the white shirt to whip a guitar out half way through. Luckily the officer seemed to be talking a load of 💩 anyway so the interview was hardly ruined.

i would rather read the book of his wife, because as interesting crime stories maybe, her story is a story of love and support. something everybody on this world needs to read and learn from.
I would have minded Jamie butting in on the ex policeman every 5min if the ex policeman wasn't just rehashing what Jamie has already wrote and podcasted about Lee Duffy, but what actually annoyed me was him taking over as interviewer half way through...

The first ray Morton podcast was great and was really looking forward to this one but I had to switch it off Boyle just makes it completely unwatchable, Shaun you should delete this and do another one with ray where it's just yourself interviewing him , Boyle has ruined this one

I did time 3 times with Lee in 85 86 and 87 and he was a force of nature. We were the same age and when we both first went to the big house in 86 we were just turned 21 and he was the top lad in Durham jail and there was some rough lads in there from all parts of the north east and beyond

Ray is brilliant, could listen to him all day but the guy in the white t shirt would be better as a solo interview as he comes across as trying to proves he knows more.... I am sure he has a lot to say but needs to chill and people will be more inclined to listen.

Visited Newcastle a few times on holiday in the 70's as we had relatives, always thought they were really good people, even in deprived areas you'll still find extremely good people.
Was watching some Ex Cop do a talk on TV a good few months ago and he was saying he felt the police force in his opinion changed massively when all the Police started taking the knee.

What a cop out! Pardon the pun but is was an ideal time to question the author and investigating officer on what really happened on that fateful night. Mrs Duffy on leaving court claimed her son was “ stabbed 7 times in the back”. Ray Morton claimed that Duffy apart from a few light scratches and a single stab wound under his left armpit more or less looked immaculate as he lay on the slab with just a towel over his private parts. When briefly asked during the interview Morton had to be prompted by Boyle about a SINGLE stab wound in duffy’s back. It was as if they didn’t want to contradict Boyles version of events and the books he’s written on the matter, as in an earlier interview Morton said Allison stabbed Duffy as he ran towards him, but Boyle said in his book The Whole Of The Moon there was two fights and Allison hit Duffy on the Temple with a knuckle duster. Morton said Duffy chased Allison after he’d been stabbed and Boyle said it was Duffy running away to escape his assailant. Boyle also said Duffy was stabbed in his thigh again not mentioned by Morton. The truth need thrashing out between these two so called experts in this intriguing case.

Why would you have a person in the panel that's was 11 year old when lee was active? Does make sense and he can't stop butting in showing his narcissistic ways. To be an expert on a person you normally have to bias about the subject you were talking. Not a super fanboy with money invested in the subject.
When you have towns with nothing but pubs and night clubs what do you expect. What is there for these people to do. I know these areas quite well and I'm from North Wales. Iv live all around Newcastle and some of the towns there are dead compleatly. North Wales is similar tbh
