They are really popular amongst DJ's. That's why the cable has a 45 connector. This is important because pioneer put the cue output on the top of their mixers which is annoying.
True, I have many headphones from 5 to 700$ (including allmighty Neumann NDH 20 - $499) and I ended up using HD 25 just for everything - music, movies, youtube and so on. I am not really interested in new headphones anymore after I realized I am always!!!!! statisfied when I am listening to HD 25.
I love my HD 25 Hardcore used since 1996, replaced once the Cable and Velourepads, i just love them. I even use them while Lawnmowing and doing other loud outdoor-stuff for hearing protection..
I've been using Shure SRH 750 DJ and I like the sound quality of their cans. However, in 3 years, the headbands have broken twice between the cup yokes and the headband end slider piece. A new assembly is only $30, but it's a pain de-soldering and re-soldering the speakers inside the cups. I can tell just by the way these 25's feel that they WILL hold up well. The sound is very good, but the sound of the Shures are also excellent and I haven't used them enough for a good comparison. The replacement headband (second in 2 years) just arrived. I'll throw them together and do a side-by-side comparison. The sound of the SRH750DJ are worth a comparison review on a video if you haven't done one yet.
Really dig your audio related videos dude. You might've seen but before but these are my favorite pair too. They're just awesome and all around workhorse's. I think you reviewing audio nailed down. Everything I would want to know. Perfect man and thanks. Show us some more DACs! Oh, also, how are you finding the AVX System?
+Ash Tailor (ashthought) I need to learn more about DACs before I start trying to review them. Did some work with Apogee a while back I love my Duet. As for the AVX... It's a must have if you're trying to be serious with mobile audio options IMO - absolutely love them! Thanks for the love man, I really appreciate it.
I've had these for two years now and am STILL crazy about them. One thing i noticed with them: the pleather pads provide better bass response than the velour ones. Nice review
+Steven Sampson I noticed that difference too, but I don't like the ones they shipped with. Order some aftermarket leather ones from China, we'll see if that works out.
I find the velour pads worse. They are actually quite hard and hurt my outer ear cartilage, plus they give the headphones a tinnier sound. They are quite sensitive (almost as loud as my in ear headphones) when used on a phone, have a slightly sibilant treble and accentuated upper midrange which you notice more if played too loudly, but sound very nice. I'm curious as to what a 31 band Eq could do to the sound. You probably wouldn't need to adjust much. They aren't quite as fun to listen to as my Sound Magic E11 as they are a bit light on bass
Love the sound. I bought these specifically because you could repair/replace the cables near the headphone shell. Since I've bought them, one side always cuts out. Everyone I know who uses these has the same problem. Worthless. Have to fix them very often. They really gotta fix this problem. Thanks.
I've just bought a pair of HD 25's and as was said previously the lead, with red connector, enters on the right, which is unconventional as all my other cans (inc Sennheisers, AT, BD & KRK) are left entry, This does matter especially if you are mixing, editing or just listening. Sennheiser told me, "I believe this is simply just the way the headphone cable has been designed, with no specific reason as to why". My interface is also on the left and I have put the short lead on my HD 25s (for field use). They are great cans though and I'm very pleased with them!
That seems really tempting for my next set of cans. Honestly, though, I'm not a fan of on-ear headphones. I really prefer over-ear ones. Do you have any suggestions for a comparable pair for over-ear use? I already have the ATH-M50x and AKG K7XX Massdrop edition.
+Tony “Stark” Tran I really like my ATH PRO700mk2 with Shure SRH840 earpads (you have to have those earpads for comfort though). Linked on my gear page if you want to check them out (www.tomasvillegas.com/gear/)
Tomas Villegas Thanks. I was interested in the Sennheisers because I've never used them before. Although I love my M50x cans, if I buy another Audio Technica set, they'd probably have to be open back or a higher tier for me to justify it. Thanks for the upload, though. Always enjoy watching your videos 😃
Hey tomas, thanks for the great review! Do you have any experience with the sennheiser hd 300s? (Non pros) and would they work well with my mobile phone?(Redmi note 7 , android)
Hey Tomas could I get some help, I need to get some headphones under $50, and wanted your opinion? A little bit of info. I'll be using them to play the drums mainly...
+Mattias Göransson (Magor34) Why do you ask? I didn't notice L or R markings on the headphones, and both pairs that I own have the cord on the left earphone (same as the one in the video). Either way, does it really matter? Either way it's a stereo experience and as long as the headphones are symmetrical, you can switch between positions. If you hear better in one ear than the other, someone may have a preference to have a certain channel in a specific ear, too.
Great and informative video man! I’ve been eyeing these for a while now. I wonder how these compare to the industry standard Sony MDR-7506. Sennheiser should hook you up with an MKH 416 for review. :)
they really are the best. After testing a bunch of others I found these to be so well done. Does everything right and the only boost I really feel is in the upper lows which is actually nice. nice vid.
Show more of the product, not you on a grass field. Show the speakers, show the lines of the product how is build, the screws and how the parts can be changed.

Actually these are for life, so you don´t need any other.
True, they are definitely great!

I'm still using mine too. Great to know that these will last a long time.

Awesome review!! By far these headphones are amazing. The fact that you can customize and repair = phenomenal!! Great video Tomas!!
Always appreciate the love +Jasen Ritt, thank you!

Yeah the stock ones are kinda rough on my ears
Steve, they work good on mobile phones or loses some quality, plese tell me bcuz i want to buy some!
what is the kind of camera you use with the headphone in the video...!!?
HD25s are 149.99 currently not sure the difference between these and HD 25-1 II's
rampage335 The new HD-25's are the exact same as the HD-25 1 ii. The difference is that the new HD-25's are more affordable. :-)
I love how it’s great for mixing👌🏼
Nice review! I'm digging your audio videos. I'm learning from them a lot.
Thanks for the feedback +Luis Robles!

Villegas de Jette?
It's hard to find someone who talks about & shows how to put them on. Great reiew. Thx
Thanks 🤝
Thanks for the review. It'd be great if you gave us your experience with sound leak in your reviews!

Are they bad for mixing monitoring without such an expensive Apogee Duet thing?
Not to me, they're great even when just plugged into my MacBook Pro.
So you'd say It's great to buy for producing regardless of any extra gear?

Great review mate but you're wearing them the wrong way around :D
Thanks! Sharp eye, but my interface is on the left so, I'm not going to have a cable crossing my workspace.
Fair enough but keep in mind that your stereo space for music is also flipped like that. Might not be optimal :)
Keep it up bro! Quality looks great!
+AppsOnFire Appreciate it!

Any chance of a review on sennheiser HD 25 vs pioneer s7??
Hey tomas, thanks for the great review!
Do you have any experience with the sennheiser hd 300s? (Non pros) and would they work well with my mobile phone?(Redmi note 7 , android)
I don't unfortunately. Knowing Sennheiser, they'll work just fine with mobile devices with 3.5mm. 👍
Hey Tomas could I get some help, I need to get some headphones under $50, and wanted your opinion? A little bit of info. I'll be using them to play the drums mainly...
+Roel Mata these: amzn.to/1KWJMeF
Tomas Villegas thanks, really appreciate it!
Great review, Tomas. But wasn't the headphones on backwards?

+Mattias Göransson (Magor34) naw they were on correct, the left side is the cable side. Thanks for the comment :D
indeed, My cable side is R (its finely written on the inside)
Great video my man, I need to get a pair of these ;)
+Larry Dickerson o_O
Really good review. Thanks
Thanks for watching 🤝
dang... those are some nice looking headphones!! Great work T
+TechExamined thanks for the love brosuf!
Do both left & right earcups move forward & backward (like at 3:19) or just one of the earcups does that?
Just left
theyre dj´s favourites headphones mostly couse of the sound they provide + the modular construction. good review ty
+zuadao thank you, I see why they are a lot of people's fav headphones.
Softcase? HD25s don´t need protection.

What "industry" are you talking about? The HD25's have been a standard of the broadcast, ENG, and audio production industry for 25 years.
Very nice vid Tomas
+Alfredo Colón (alfredorc) thanks mang!

nice vid.
Thanks 🤝
Mr. Sennheiser is at it again
Nice job T!
+PremierReviewer this got caught in the spam folder bruh! Thanks man!
Wow $249? I would not have guessed that just by looking at them.
+Omar Correa I thought the same thing, but then you listen to them - absolute game changer.
well i bought them for 150 because he was talking about the 3 meter cable and the velour earpads
Great review Tomas. Black Ops 3 stream this Friday???
+Dood Brodia Thanks man. You know it!!!
Tomas Villegas I'll be sure to look for the stream.

Show more of the product, not you on a grass field. Show the speakers, show the lines of the product how is build, the screws and how the parts can be changed.
omg you were wearing them the wrong way around red= right hand sight but awesome video
+the gaming guy tom Sharp eye, but my interface is on the left so, I'm not going to have a cable crossing my workspace.
I got mine in a much nicer softcase bag
Nice 👍
Cosa cambia dalle normali hd25? Una beata minchia 😁😅🤷🏻
