I have been traveling to Asia for 30 years now. Mostly to the Philippiines. Bum Guns are not that common there and neither is toilet paper lol. In the province and even some restaurant restrooms they have a large barrel of water and a scooper to just poor the water down your back side. I've never been a fan of the bum gun because to me it seems like the poop particles are being sprayed everywhere.. I never thought of it like how you said which was if you got dirt on your face you would not just clean it off with a dry tissue lol...I may reconsider the bum gun when abroad. Thanks for the video
I've seen these temples on a few other vids but never gets tired seeing them again such incredible craftsmanship has gone into both of these the white temple is truly wonderful! Really enjoyed your chat with the 2 bikers reminds me of bike tour I did all over that area we did Pattaya to Chang Mai in 1 day then onto Chang Rai the next day, really fond memories of that tour and your vid reminded me of it so thanks for that 👍🏼 Some truly stunning art pieces / installations at the white temple loved the grey/obsidian Buddha lovely work. Thanks a lot for sharing 🙏 enjoyed your footage a lot - thumbs up from me in UK 🇬🇧
Thanks, that bought back so many memories. Hope you managed to get to the weekend market.. and Pai, and Mae hong son, lovely drive up into the mountains. Good luck
Your video´s is getting better all the time. I use to save them to watch Sunday mornings as a good relaxing time. you will reach 100 000 subs when Covid slows down. Keep up the good work and have a nice day!!
Thank you for such an interesting video of Chang Rai. We have never been, those temples were amazing. It looks like a really interesting city to visit. We are still locked down in the UK and long for a holiday in the sun. Hopefully we will be able to visit Thailand soon, meantime, keep showing us what we are missing!
Thank you George, glad you enjoyed. For sure you'll be able to enjoy Thailand again in person and hopefully in the not too distant future. Meanwhile, more vids to follow. Take care there in the UK, things are looking better!
As usual an awesome video. How beautiful are those temples. Been to Changmai several times but never made it up to Chang Rai. Will have to next time. Cheers.
Enjoyed your vlogs. Chiang rai has memories the town friendly people . The white temple. The elephant sanctuary. . And had a pretty good flat white coffee from a small cafe that roasted his own beans. Keep the vlogs coming. All the best ftom Australia 😃
Thank you Gary. Enjoyed Chiang Rai, lovely people too as you say. Also love a good flat white coffee, will have to keep an eye out for that next time. Cheers
So YOU're the one! Joking aside, few have watched and I put a lot of work into it so thanks Ryan, appreciated. Anyone else interested in what is likely coming much faster than most realise, please see: ua-cam.com/video/zocCznL7CAQ/v-deo.html
Visited the White Temple in Dec 2018 on the way to Laos and was super impressed. Thanks for posting this, brought back happy memories! (Didn't know there was also a Blue temple, will have to go back!)
You have my full support on the bumgun issue, brother. They're one of the best things about travelling in SE Asia! I have a bidet, and even though it's better than smearing poop around using thin pieces of paper, it's still nowhere near as effective as a bumgun!
Hi Andy. Usually the older the better for me but in this case found the newish White Temple fascinating. Missed many little details ,so will go back too.
Thx Micke. The short answer is not certain who 'owns' it. But it appears the reconstruction was funded and created by Chalermchai Kositpipat. The longer answer is from their Wiki page: *By the end of the 20th century, the original Wat Rong Khun was in a bad state of repair. Funds were not available for renovation. Chalermchai Kositpipat, a local artist from Chiang Rai, decided to completely rebuild the temple and fund the project with his own money. The artist intends for the area adjacent to the temple to be a center of learning and meditation and for people to gain benefit from the Buddhist teachings. When completed, the white temple compound will have nine buildings, including the existing ubosot, a hall of relics, a meditation hall, an art gallery, and living quarters for monks. -------- Edit to add; It was free entry at this time but personally would not hesitate to pay 100 baht/$3 to view. Well worth it.
Personally not a big fan of those sort of attractions but there are some which are well renowned in the area for doing good work, like some Elephant rehab open parks etc. As for big cats (Tiger Temple etc) suggest reading reviews on trip advisor etc to see...

The modern temples are quite amazing - Thanks STL - look forward to the next 🇦🇺🙏👍
Creativity and artistry is amazing at those temples, much easier to visit without all the tourists.
As usual an awesome video. How beautiful are those temples. Been to Changmai several times but never made it up to Chang Rai. Will have to next time. Cheers.

Great video as always. Love it.
Thanks PJ Mac. Unfortunately it's getting 65% less than normal views but hopefully those who see it and haven't seen Chiang Rai before may like it.
Hot car and coffee woke me up from a zen situation. LOL! Good show, man:))
Hope I get to visit this place someday.

Fully agreed! Nothing more to add really, thank you :)

Welcome to Chiang Rai
Thanks, loved it!
Wow... Amazing Buildings :-))
The white wat, it's private or munks owners?
Inside white wat, it's worth 100 Bath?
Really nice places and video

Thanks so much for all information
I watched the vid about electric cars when it came out, very informative 👍🏻
Thanks Heather! Anyone else interested in Evs pls see: ua-cam.com/video/zocCznL7CAQ/v-deo.html
Great Letterkenny reference
Thx eh. "And I suggest you let that one marinate" ;)
A pity we can’t make pics inside the white temple
Yes but was also ok with not filming inside the temple itself. There's still much to see and film all around the property.
Nice one .. Robnoi
Cheers Rob
❤️
Thx as always sir
Great, for lack of a real life view, I just picture you looking like Snow 😆
LOL! ua-cam.com/video/TSffz_bl6zo/v-deo.html
Actually somewhere between Snow and Leonard Cohen...

Some likes elephant's, others leopards. What's about the lions - there is a huge park there!?
Personally not a big fan of those sort of attractions but there are some which are well renowned in the area for doing good work, like some Elephant rehab open parks etc. As for big cats (Tiger Temple etc) suggest reading reviews on trip advisor etc to see...
Red rhino, not a dinosaur ;-)
haha noted ;)
