    I live in the central Europe ...but I absolutely hate what EU/NATO/collective West stands for now and is doing to Russia... their claims of doing it for "democracy" and "Ukraine's integrity" are simply asinine... I don't believe a single word they say. I'm ashamed of what my country has become and so I started looking into maybe moving to Russia. President Putin supposedly signed a decree enabling for people from the West who are against West's aggressive anti -Russian policies and/or are being persecuted by the western Powers that be, to relocate to Russia legally, getting a special visa... If there's ever gonna be a war...I'm never fighting on the side of rotten corrupt idi*t/c West. My country has been conquered by Western greed, people leading it corrupted beyond imagination and the people brainwashed to a pulp...it's gone and never coming back...but I might have a chance to stand up to this cancer on the right side of history.

      @@haroldcruz8550It’s probably several factors. There’s a lot of rumors that the central government told local authorities to suppress news about a possible invasion, hoping to draw the enemy in. Given the presence of modern ISR, it’s impossible to seriously believe the offensive was not predicted. Nonetheless, I think reserve troops were not prepared in sufficient quantities or at a state of sufficient readiness, because they’ve been taking a while to concentrate in force and even now the defenders are basically irregular forces, a mix of internal troops, border patrol, national guard, Chechens, and Wagner.
      But, I don’t think Kursk is a priority. It’s empty fields and small villages, and the enemy will make no more progress there. Before this offensive there was nothing but light shelling going on there. Pokrovsk however is the focal point of supply lines to Donbas and the last defense line before the unfortified steppes stretching to the Dnieper.

    COST OF THE UKRAINIAN KURSK ATTACK: Ukrainian's Kursk offensive into Russian territory cost the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) the use of their best brigades in Donetsk allowing the Russians to quickly advance towards the Pokrovsk and Toretsk areas. Meanwhile, the AFU's elite brigades and their equipment get decimated in open areas within Russian territory.
    So far, Russia has taken out about 1 brigade of Ukrainian soldiers. I heard that Ukraine has 5 more brigades lining up to attack within Russian territory towards Kursk.
    According to Pepe Escobar, Ukraine's Kursk offensive has sped up their demise by at least 2 to 3 months.

    Putin is a cold, calculating leader. This gives some credibility to the supposition that Russia may have purposely left open its border for this Ukrainian incursion. There are three reasons why a chess master might want this invasion: 1) The traditional reason: this will inflame Russian patriotism. 2) The strategic (attrition) reason: this attack draws Ukraine into speedily expending its remaining resources. 3) The diplomatic reason: this invasion harms Ukraine with the neutrals who are already friendly to Russia, broadening the range of endgame solutions Russia can deploy.

  • @auderus
    @auderus 21 день тому +9

    I agree with Larry. Russia does not need a Counter-Attack. They have air superiority, heavy guns and superior supply and logistics. They can take their time and conduct attrition efforts because the Ukraine will not be able to rotate these forces under the current tactical situation. A withdrawal under pressure will be very expensive. The current ground occupied after this incursion is simply not of high tactical value. Time is on the side of the defenders in the Kursk situation. This is so sad for the Ukraine, the average age of their forces was reported as 43 years old. The young guys have bugged out to avoid the draft or been killed. This is so very sad to watch the atrocity that NATO and the west have made of this situation. This needs to end before Zelenski does something even more crazy and causes a nuclear situation. The big risk of a 50 year old F16 is that it can carry a nuc.... outside of that it will not tip the scales at all. The true Military tacticians all know that what is going on here is a tragedy for the Ukrainians. The west should be ashamed, Victoria Nuland and the rest of the politicians who caused this should grab guns and go help them..... . Russia will simply take Odessa, keep the territories in the East, set up new trade deals and the west will make billions rebuilding the ruins after Zelenski takes his loot and bugs out.

    • @stevenhendrix4768
      @stevenhendrix4768 14 днів тому

      The militairy objective is double: 1) Russia gets pushed further back so they can't place artillary just accross the border anymore with impunity. Ukraine wasn't allowed by the west to hit targets into Russia with western weapons They also had airfields in that region and they are gone. Ukraine in that region also destroyed some supply houses and cut of supply roads to the fron tfor the Russian Army. .
      2) Ukraine can do the opposite now their own homemade missiles can reach Moscow now. So expect a lot of explosions in their capital soon. These are the militairy significancies but those were not the main reason.
      The main reason is politically and psychological. In short bringing the war to Russia. Let the Russians feel what it means to be bombed all the time and embarrasse the Putin regime. Ukraine shows the Russian population that Putin is not the strong man who gives them safety afterall as he prommised. The Russian troops getting killed inside this region are conscripts not just expendable criminals and mercinairies nobody cares about in Russia. These are young men not just from some outskirt in Siberia but with parents in Moscow and St-Petersburg. The 180 K refugees fleeing inside Russia all have a story to tell to their relatives in the important cities. A story about how they were treated fairly by the UAF and horribly abandonned by the Putin regime.

    More attacks - more volunteers, as simple as that. This whole "lets scare Russians" just leads to another Vasily or Oleg saying - ok, I didn`t want to leave my business that took me years to start, but you know what, maybe its time to end this circus and take matters into my own hands, time to start a military career. Many people want to go and volunteer, but some have obligations at home - businesses, careers, relationships. But the more you annoy people, the more people will say screw that, want a fight, you`ll get a fight and join the ranks. Scaring doesn`t work in this part of the world. If Russians were so scared of everything, they wouldn`t have had 1000 years of statehood to begin with. It would have ended in 900s. Scared people simply don`t live here.

    As both Sun Tzu and Napoleon said, "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake."
    There is no need for the Russians to do anything. Let the Ukrainian incursion troops keep digging.
    What the West will never understand is that 1,000 casualties in the West has to be explained and is a tragedy; whereas, for Russia, 1 million casualties is just what it takes - and 5 million casualties will be the same.
    Back in Tsarist times, Maurice Paleologue, the French Ambassador to St. Petersburg, explained that one Frenchman was worth a thousand Russians. And his math was correct, from both points of view. At most, Russia will worry over 1 million dead and wounded as much as the West will worry about 1,000 dead and wounded.
    Putin is looking good. This may be propaganda good or really good, but he is 100x the strategist that any Western leader is, and he knows everything is in hand. Plus Xi is also 100x the strategist that any Western leader is.
    Let's face it, they are up against Western power players who were forced into this mess by Joe Biden's obsession with taking his detractors behind the bike shed to beat them up, when it is obvious that the outcome will be adverse.
    This is a horrible, unnecessary war in which the Ukrainian people will suffer the brunt. (See Adam Schiff's 2020 speech hoping that this would be the case.)

      It isn't really Biden who's responsible. He just went along with the numerous Neocons who've made every effort to push the Dims into Endless Wars, and somehow succeeded. Blame the whole military/industrial complex.

    i respectfully disagree with Larry. I don't think the NPP was the main objective. Having control of Sodzha (sorry if i misspelt ) they can cut off the gas to Hungary. I think the Kursk offensive by Ukraine is NATO's punishment of Hungary because they cannot tolerate Orban working to end the conflict. Hoping to cause financial difficulties in the country and social unrest in Hungary but they cannot allow the people to see that NATO turns on its own that does not tow the line so the MSM sells the NPP plant as the goal. Thats the theory i have. Love to hear comments on this

    I found it interesting that you appeared on DPA, contrasting this with the broad based discussion on the Duran. In as much as I look at DPA I have found that has a heavy reliance on tactics and equating flag positioning with territory taken. Further to this if there is anything to be learned from Kherson and the Kharkiv withdrawls earlier in the war, territory isn't of intrinsic value as opposed to gaining strategic advantage. Correspondents such as DPA and there are many, focus their tactical analysis on flag planting and have little or no strategic analysis. Ukraine as it stands has withdrawn forces from a failing Donbass front, it had brought into the open it's scarce manpower and equipment resources in a sparsely populated rural area. It is facing an opponent with air, artillery , drone supremacy and large uncommitted reserves. It is in country ideal for ambush with no strategic objective. Go figure.

    I do agree with Johnson about Russia's response in the Kursk region. Russia is not rushing large forces close to the Ukraine force, Russia is letting the Ukrainians bring in a lot of reserves. Maybe it is because Russia does not have a choice but the more forces that go into Kursk means the less soldiers there are on the front lines in the Ukraine.
    Larry's explanation of Russia calling the Kursk invasion an act of terrorism is laughable. If he has any proof of the Russian citizens being mistreated it would be on this channel. His bias is affecting his objectivity.
    The Chechnya's make the notsees in the Ukraine look like human rights activists. Funny how neither Davis or Johnson do not say a word on this reality.

      The thing that called as Terrorism in this context, is that the Ukrops onced they enter settlements that includes town of Sudzha, they fired indiscriminately. Against who ? Civilians that trying to fleeing the combat zone. You can even find many amateur footage where civilians trying to fleeing with their cars but getting shot at.
      If you trying to denied this, you're really supporting that act of terrorism.
