This is the second version I’ve seen of this plot. I really don’t get why the male lead has to divorce his wife. He just keeps telling his wife he has his reasons.

Since the comments were so divided I gave it a try to see for myself. It turned out to be a good drama because as the story developed the both the ML and FL had character-growth and worked to understand eachother. It also gave beliveble explanations for why the ML did what he did but it didn't workout like he thought it would. I'm glad it was fastpasted and they got the divorce-part over with within the first hour because that made my bloodpressure rise. The CP had good chemestry. There were some editing problems with scenes in the wrong order.
As always, the rationale for leaving makes no sense. Instead of making the son responsible for the SFL's pregnancy, the ML divorced his wife to take responsibility to save face for the other son's negligence.

Mas a história é boa, o enredo é bom, e os protagonistas são igualmente bons. Pra quem achou ruim que ela voltou pra ele nao entendeu a história. Ele é um homem cheio de traumas e danos psicológicos pelos abusos que sofreu na infância. Foi culpado pelos pais pela suposta morte do irmão. Foi severamente castigado e punido. Voltou a ter esperanças na vida quando conheceu ela. E a partir daí tudo que fez foi para poupa-la de qualquer sofrimento, até mesmo o falso divórcio. Quando ele sofria tudo o que estava acontecendo calado na intenção de proteger ela acabou ferindo-a mais ainda. Quando tudo foi sendo esclarecido ela entendeu que a maior vítima de toda história sempre foi ele e o perdoou como qualquer um no lugar dela faria. Ele a amava incondicionalmente e fez tudo por ela. Levando em consideração tudo o que ele sofreu eu fico admirada por ele ainda ter sobrevivido. Enfim assistam vale a pena.
A lot of these comments aren't fair to the ml. Yes, he never should have mentioned divorce, but there was so much more going on with him. Child abuse, mental health issues, survivors guilt, and huge misunderstandings. He works to make his relationship better and communicate with fl, and she does the same. I wasn't gonna watch it after reading the comments, but im glad I did, and I'm glad she went back to him.
This is solid ... One of the better ones I've seen this year... Original plot, complex character relationships and decent set and costume choices.... 👍👍

This was a good drama. The ML made a lot of mistakes in his relationship with the FL but they are explainable. *Spoilers* After taking his brother out to play (ML age 9, brother age 7) brother is kidnapped and supposed dead from drowning. This part I find weird and definitely Cdrama worthy because they are hugging the dead boy's body, it is the brother but he is somehow rescued by a gangster and raised as an adopted son. So mother was so devasted by the death she forgot to bury her son and left his body there? Anyway - the mother hates the ML for reasons you find out towards the end. However, already hating him what happened to the brother sent her over the edge and she tortured the ML for a year as punishment. (remember, aged 9) and he would have died at her hands had his grandfather not rescued him at that point. He still bears the scars - mental and physical. He even attempted suicide. So the brother and FL met as children and the brother helped her and she formed an affection for him and gave him a bracelet. Her bio father ends up being responsible for the original kidnapping of the boy and things go wrong but it isn't clear apart from he was the original instigator and bore punishment. So the FL meets the ML as a teen? He is wearing the bracelet so she assumes he is the brother. The brother isn't reported anywhere, presumed dead by family so she has no idea there is any brother and just assumes the ML is her childhood crush/friend. The ML is isolated, he has some really good male friends and some support from grandparents but he has been tortured by his bio mother and has huge guilt over his brother both internal and external blame. FL is a bright light for him, he loves her. But she constantly makes reference to them meeting as children, destiny, etc. She doesn't know they are two different people, brothers, and each time it cuts the ML because 1. He feels like he is cheating the FL, that she really loves the brother and not him and 2. he believes that she would also hate him if she knew he had a role in what happened to the brother. He pushes her away and is hurtful when he feels hurt. BUT while he has done hurtful things after the FL learns of his history from the ML's friends she realizes how much pain he has born himself, never hurting her (blaming her) over her bio father's role which was more to blame for what happened to the brother. She says he has always shown her his gentle side. SO - we see how his indifference and absence has hurt her but we have words from the FL that it wasn't the whole relationship. She loved him for him, because there were actions that caused her to love him. She was caught up in the fate of them being childhood friends/crush but wasn't obsessed with it. I say this because unlike other leads who transfer their affection from one fake to another chasing the elusive "one" she never looks back at the brother and the childhood relationship. It was part of what she was happy about, but not the actual reason she was with the ML. The ML never told her the truth of the situation so there was no way for them to overcome this misunderstanding. It caused a cycle of hurt. The truth also involved the FL's bio father so with the stigma of the child bears the sins of the father the ML's family hated her, but the ML never held her responsible. In a way this both protected her from guilt and hurt her more because the parents hated her because of a reason she had no idea about. The FL was hurt by lack of intimacy during their marriage but on the other hand it was also that the ML didn't want to take advantage of her belief that he was the brother(boy from childhood). There had been some confidence but on their wedding night she had a long speech about matchmakers and destiny when they met as children just as they were to be intimate. This sent him spiraling and he was cruel and called another woman's name as punishment for her talking about the brother. Then drank himself into a stupor because he hated himself for hurting her and hated that she wanted the brother and not him ...losing confidence in the relationship again. The divorce is forced by the parents but he is faking it. The brother is still alive but has a bad status so the family is forcing him to be responsible for the brother's child so that it has a proper name. Again the ML isn't explaining but to explain is to explain the brother is actually still alive, the brother is the one she liked as a child not him and so on. He is trying to find a solution for everything but is making the huge mistake of not communicating with the FL. She makes some of this same mistake. Even after they reconcile and promise honesty/openness with each other they both have a dangerous situation and they BOTH lie to the other thinking it is protecting them while only causing more misunderstanding with each other. They finally grow and open up to each other, they realize they can truly depend on each other. This is what makes the ML forgivable. He takes responsibility for his mistakes and makes an actual change to be a better partner. He was always loyal to the FL even if she didn't understand that. Most of his actual distancing from her that hurt her was him trying to protect himself from hurt as well and her hurt also hurt him. There is even a scene when he thinks the FL is pregnant by someone else while she believes they are divorced (not knowing he faked it yet) and he isn't angry, he just wants her and says he will take responsibility for the child as his own .... not knowing it was just an ovarian cyst.
Soo.. they thought the brother died a long time ago, enough for him to take control of the company and all that and brother to establish a new life.. but then a woman shows up pregnant supposedly with the long ago dead bro's baby and the Parents want him to take the responsibility because they blame him for the bro's death and so he pretend divorces his Loved wife?? A lot of things here are confusing and some are clearer compared to the previous version I've seen. I dunno if it's due to the eng subs or scene cuts, i won't bother to comprehend it anymore. But the few things that are clear, I'm glad they explained it well here as compared to that other version. Aside from the confusing details the emotional parts wasn't as pronounced or well conveyed and expressed well. Despite all that, this was still an okay watch.

He didn't explain anything before divorcing and can't explain after, but he still constantly inserts himself in her life and acts like she belongs to him. What's the point in bothering her if you can't explain yourself? What do you want her to do??? I don't know why he divorced her and I don't care - it's a waste of time.

Second version I’ve seen. I think other version felt more cohesive . The editing and scene transitions here are choppy AF. It’s like the writers just threw the storyboard into a blender and regurgitated this hot mess. How does a short drama felt too long and draggy yet, at the same time, too quick and incomplete? I swear I blinked and grandma was lying in a hospital bed. Blinked again, and girly was tied up on the roof top. I do like in this version the brothers, seem to have more interaction and was less hostile than other version. CP moments in this version is cuter here after the miscommunication cleared up. I started dozing off in the first half and didn’t feel the need to go back and watch what I missed. On to the next….➡️
Why does the FL script always ask such stupid questions like "WHY DO YOU HATE ME SO MUCH", "WHAT ARE YOU DOING" AND "WHY" to every bad thing that SFL is doing. I don't think FL is blind herself, right?

Second version I’ve seen. I think other version felt more cohesive . The editing and scene transitions here are choppy AF. It’s like the writers just threw the storyboard into a blender and regurgitated this hot mess. How does a short drama felt too long and draggy yet, at the same time, too quick and incomplete? I swear I blinked and grandma was lying in a hospital bed. Blinked again, and girly was tied up on the roof top. I do like in this version the brothers, seem to have more interaction and was less hostile than other version. CP moments in this version is cuter here after the miscommunication cleared up. I started dozing off in the first half and didn’t feel the need to go back and watch what I missed. On to the next….➡️
