Saw this movie in '88 and it still stands out to me as a masterpiece. If you are able to see it, I highly recommend it. You are unlikely to find better. Alan Rudolph is a genius proved in only a few films....

I ended up here after watching Trouble in Mind, haven't watch The Moderns yet but the music by Mark Isham seems to be as good as the Trouble in Mind soundtrack.
CHARLELIE COUTURE is his name. He's featured--in cameo--within the film, "The Moderns". Within the cafe scenes, look for the pianist. Also, he performs two more songs within the film's soundtrack: "Dada Je Suis", and "Paris La Nuit/Selavy".

Just ordered a copy from Amazon. They have Vinyl and CD on there. I love the movie and music so much, so I have both.
I bought a vinyl copy in 1989.. Still one of my favorite soundtracks. Genius Isham!
