Man i love your videos on the dua products because your telling it how it is. I am a fan of dua have over 20 of there products so its nice to see others points of view.
I now own four Duas as well as many many original niche fragrances. I've spent $$$ on originals. I am now of the mindset that if the Dua smells close (or possibly better in smell quality, projection or longevity), I will buy and wear it. My circle of friends and family no nothing about fragrances and don't care about them. Fragrance prices have jumped significantly since before Covid making this a very expensive hobby. Also, to your point about finishing bottles, when one has 60-70 bottles, it makes sense to purchase smaller quantities because you are NEVER going to finish a bottle. Finally, some Duas smell exactly like the original. Thanks for making this video. Your points are spot on!
My take on dua is that they manage to capture the big accords of a fragrance…if it’s pineapple you get the the pineapple. If it’s cherries you get that as well. But I don’t think they are blended very well. A good example of this is dua Poseidon line. The first blast is very chemically and then you get this huge burnt wood accord and after about a half an hour it mellows and the pineapple really comes through. But the wood is completely gone. It gets tons of compliments because you smell like a pineapple and everyone loves the smell of pineapple. But if you want to project a pineapple smell why not just go down to mall and grab some pineapple body spray? Personally, I think a brand like Mancera is a much better option. Smooth, complex, long lasting and not crazy expensive. You can buy a 4 0Z bottle of Cedrat Bois for 100.00 all day long on EBay. This is a much smoother and more sophisticated Invectus knock off than dua’s Poseidon line. And it’s cheaper per ounce as well.
Many go to DUA instead of the originals because of the performance. Those designers and some niche may really smell great but don’t last or project the way they should. DUA improves upon the originals making them last longer and project more. Typical workday is 8 hours. How many designers and niche last a full hours? That’s why people go to DUA. Spray before leaving the house and you are good for the entire day. No need for travel sprays and more bottle sales.
8 hours is a pretty long day and I’ll definitely discuss that for another video (work/office). I will say this though travel sprays aren’t really made for work. They literally are travel sprays.
Def agree 👍. I wore one spray of Invasion of Barbers to work on front of my neck and basically choked out this old lady smoker at my work... I basically rubbed it off stat lol.
There are so many clone House or inspired House, such as Alexandria, Oil Perfumery, Zohar Aroma, Dua, Generic Perfume, n many more. These are d names I've come across. Maybe someday u can make a video which does the better performance wise that could almost be far better than the originals newer release which some cases reformulated. I do have a few of both Originals and Inspired ones. So far... Zohar Aroma did a great job for me. As for DUA's, not only its oily but somehow it burns my skin when I wear onto my neck. Something synthetic chemicals they use too much in it I guess n it doesn't projects that much or so. Nearly unsatisfied. As for some Originals of those comes with high price tags. They do have stage by stage changes in terms of scent wise for those who enjoy fragrance on themselves.
Not even a dua owner but what dua is offering to the masses are just like any other designer perfumes out there: they give you options. Majority of the people who will smell you wpnt even care if its a clone or not they will just say you smell good. Whether or not thats for from a $200 perfume or a $20 one doesnt really matter. Affordability attracts a lot of people especially if it comes with good quality too.
Im not sure how Dua was back then if the quality remained the same or if with time they've gotten better but i recently really started trying Dua specially their OG blends and im sold. They instantly became my favorite house. They are making the fragrances the way i wished the big name brands did. Besides somehow being able to completely copy 100% some frags, heavily concentrated and virtually never having performance issues, Dua is worth it except their 30% off makes them a greater value. I completely balled out on their labor day 30% off sale and i cant see myself paying their full price from now on.
I really like how Dua does hybrid fragrances and tribrid fragrances, etc.They also make their own fragrances. They have a good price, great performance, and smell great and that’s awesome.

I’m a pure user, just want to smell good but I tend to go with high quality juice and not the so so one. So I only keep a perfume that I really like to wear, I would never think to collect one entire line from a house, just buy the one that I like the most 😊😊😊. I don’t care about any notes constructing the scent nor the perfume’s history, I just care on the output when it is in the air creating a perfect scent cloud around me 😊😊😊. I tried 4 Dua’s and quite amazed by the quality delivered up to the level that if I know them earlier, I’d most probably won’t spend so much money on the real deal especially the one with so so performance since I’m into beast mode performing perfumes very much 😊😊😊. I don’t care about the brand, all I care about is the juice quality delivered to me, must be mass appealing yet unique, well blended, and perform like mad 🤣🤣🤣,...Don’t care much on packaging and other accessories 😊😊😊... That part about "not buying every single frag from a house you love". There's def wisdom in that. With every house, your lucky if you can find 1 or 2 bangers. It kinda makes one more inclined to buy more from a house simply bc you received a fragrance from that house you absolutely love. I find that to be very true. Which is why honestly, I feel a lot of time i'm spending more money of samples than actual bottles. Good example are Amouage and Parfums de marly for me.

Did you let the DUA fragrances macerate before getting convinced of its effectiveness? If so how many weeks? Cause I got my first 6 bottls but the smell and projection didnt impress me at all
I've been designer only to niche only and recently discovered Dua when my Milliseme Imperiale ran out and I just couldnt put up with the horrible performance. The Casino is fantastic and is spot on with what you've said, I just want to smell good and pull comps. I really enjoyed your offering here and I agree with all of it. In fact I did realize that I'm just a guy who wants to smell good and with over 50 bottles that I'll never go through, maybe it's time to just smell good and not spend so much. Thanks for your vid. Personally, I go for the fragrances that are no longer available or next to impossible to get in the US. I have the clone of DHP- Intense Homme Attar. Also Rive Gauche- River Fougeur. When Covert - Gucci Envy is back in stock i am planning of buying that also.
I just bought Intense Homme Attar as my first DUA fragrance because Dior Homme Parfum is darn near impossible to get in the states without being price gouged. Can I ask for your opinion on it if you see this?
Also he has sales once or twice a month 25% for one or 30% for orders over 150. He announces it on the Dua Fragrance Lovers Facebook site. We save so much l, on his sales we only pay like 47 a bottle or less depending on how much you spend and they’re not all 60 some are 50 or below
I like DUA. 🤷🏻♀️ A have a large niche collection. (Xerjoff being my favorite, I have a ton) Having some DUA clones gives me a fix when I’m just hanging out at home and don’t want to spritz my 400$ niche fragrance. I also really like their original blends. Their Banana fragrances are really fun and there aren’t too many banana fragrances out there. I would bet that DUA encourages those large purchases via “sales”. Navitus Parfum does the same thing. “Take advantage of this sale! It’s for a limited time! 30% off!” That kind of social engineering WORKS. Consistently. If it works why not use it? All that being said I would still recommend Julianna’s Perfume over any other clone house. They are not the cheapest and they rarely have sales but they make the best dupes on the market. IMO.
The fact that most Dua collectors have around 20 plus of these perfumes says a lot. Obviously they are satisfied with the product or they wouldn't be coming back for more. My personal faves are Caramel Delight, Drowning in Vanilla, Popped Cherry, Crater, Amberlicous. Yes, they are beast mode so two sprays are more than enough, making the 30ml size just right.
I just purchased my first Dua, Supernova. Haven't received it yet, but I can't wait to smell it. I, like many people can't afford to drop $300 on a bottle of Elysium. I've never even smelled Elysium, but it's so hyped up, I wanted to get an idea of what it smells like. From many reviews that I've watched, Supernova smells just as good or better, and lasts longer. Yes, I'll know I won't have the original, but I don't care. I'm all about smelling good for less.
So how did you like Supernova? I'm extremely interested in your feedback now that you've had six months with it. Also, did you end up purchasing anything else from Dua after that? I have Supernova and I love it big time. I also have Supernova Cologne, and it's actually so good it has earned a spot in my top 10 across my whole collection (not just against other Duas). That's no easy feat for a clone to do in my opinion, since it was going up against a pool of the best designer and niche contenders within my collection. Unfortunately, I've never smelled any of the actual Roja products just yet as I've only been collecting since q2 2020, but I will eventually get them. In the mean time, I absolutely find these Dua fragrances to stand on their own merit as a product.
@@King_WhiteWolf I like Super Nova. I didn't at first. It smelled like a cleaning agent. I think you have to let Duas maserate. I also have Midnight Rendezvous, Imperiale' Pasteque, Divine Energy, and recently picked up Bleu De Dua Attar. I'm definitely letting that one sit for a couple of weeks. It smells weak.
I agree with bottles not running out. I got Casino Royale nights back in 11.2018 Its almost 2 years later and im at about %65/%70 full. I paid the full $65 because it was my first one. Most def worth $65
Nice overview and I agree with you on everything. But one thing I wanted to point out is that Niche/Designers houses brought this on themselves. Almost every Niche house has a fragrance that can be considered a “clone”. The designers are just as bad releasing the same scent with a twist everything is a blue scent now days even Dior Homme 2020. At least these clone house are upfront about it and tell you it is a clone and not trying to pass it off as an“original” like all these Niche houses are doing. Also, the prices are just getting out of control for the valve you get in these Niche houses and designers reformulation are insane right now.
For me, with frags like Bergamot 22 and Puredistance M, these frags are not only expensive, but they're nearly impossible to find on the discounter's markets... so for DUA to provide that "fragrance availability" - I think it's something really great imo 👍
I’ve been collecting for 6 years or so and was scared to try dua our because one of the reviewers I respect a great deal said the 13zz. Smelled like wood chips. Tried them anyway for their casino and was hooked. Great house and Sam is a pretty cool guy. He listens to his customers and the customer service is outstanding. If you hate them it’s mostly because you’ve not tried them.
Im in the middle. Cause I feel DUA is overpriced. But mean time I like to have beast mode performance. I just bought #Fierce and will let it seat for a month to see if it really performs or is a rip off
@@ccb6013 it really depends on the fragrance you get too. Some of them are really fantastic and some are trash. Their supernova is a spot on and even better clone of elisium. But so E of duas stuff is pure garbage.
i think another advantage to duas is because its a smaller bottle , and it cost $60ish , someone who wants to try multiple fragrances can do so at the price of one niche.
I just ordered #ego vintage formulation of chanel egoiste.and im excited to try it. if that is really performs well on me, I might gonna pull the trigger for more dua's inspired vintage formulations.
I am a dua fanboy and yes I prefer dua to the original anytime, try comparing dua to creeds...also, Duas need to macerate, do not judge a dua before it sits for two week to a month, they are shipped fresh and need time to project...also dua has a sale every month or so...25-30%
They need to mascerate because they literally just mix pre made oils into perfumers alcohol. Not to mention the almond smell from the shitty carrier oils...
@@milescox9427 They're obviously not on the level of most niche fragrances and just in terms of the opening if I compare my normal Creeds, Xerjoffs, TFs etc. they're just not on the same level in terms of those initial 20min that really are when you fall in love with a fragrance. That being said they're fine, many of their hybrids work just well and if I want a nice opening with them I just put on one of the Guerlain Les Colognes on with them. Most have really good performance, they don't smell too artificial at all, they do have quite nice ambergris in some of their fragrances which really puts them above most designers nowadays.
I own the original Tom Ford Oud Wood Intense but left it in my home while I am outside the country for a year now. Ordered the Dua clone and I dont smell much of a difference. I get the Tom Ford vibe immediately. But I agree. Spraying on the original TF OWI gives you a better more confident feeling. Also have the Dua clone of Creed Virgin Island Waters and dont know the original. This one smells to me a bit cheap. Maybe the original does as well. But the durability and projection is insane. Its now a week on my hoodie and still projects. I own 50+ original fragrances and now got into the Dua game. Ordered 8 Dua fragrances yesterday, lost a bit of control. With some of them I feel like I made a mistake. For example Liquid Mind Control costs $75 while the original from Nasomatto costs 20 bucks more. Some are overpriced at Dua. But yeah, I got the 30% off so its a good deal I guess.

Man Bacarat and creed are so easy to clone you gotta give Mahsam credit for the Tom ford line . I loved the Oud minerale from TF and Dua version is Aoud and mineral however its so close to original especially dealing with sea notes and oud . Fruity notes are easy to clone .
I think if designer brands would stop diluting their products to the point of people wanting to look elsewhere these brands wouldn’t exist. I have a pretty large collection and most of the time I’m going to spend the extra money on the real deal but for fragrances that have been discontinued or have gone downhill because of reformulation dua makes a compelling product.and although it’s always been one of my favorites and is still my wife’s next to Chanel AHSEE is Abercrombie fierce I’ve had just about every bottle they’ve put out and they e gotten weaker and weaker I’ve got legend and legend edp PDM percival and none have come close to the OG formulation besides the intense version that’s also discontinued so I gave duas #fierce a try and was blown away not only did they make a parfum concentration of the original that is nuclear it actually smells more natural than fierce it doesn’t have that big iso e hit at the beginning and the performance blows that one out of the water 3-4 sprays will last you all day no question. Since I’ve bought a few others including ysl LNdL blu eletrique that was discontinued is also very close. For me that’s the only time they make sense obviously if it’s a fragrance that’s on the market right now I’m going to say save up and get the real deal but personally I’m not going to spend hundreds on an old bottle of a discontinued fragrance that’s oxidized and that’s not going to perform like it used to just to say I have the “original” nobody cares people wear fragrances to smell good and these do that in spades. You’ll be surprised how much you get out of that 30ml bottle. I’d you are going to go to dua always google for coupon codes I’ve always gotten 25-30% off on the few bottles I have
You actually can pay more for the DUA clones than the original. The Dua is between $55-$75 an ounce where most designer colognes can be $25-$50 an ounce.
That's a great point, and no one mentions the cost per quantity. Fragheads with sizable collections almost never go through a whole bottle of anything, so a 30 ml will be "enough" - but in comparison, as you mentioned, the Dua can be WAY overpriced for the tiny quantity they offer.
I say it all the time in these frag groups is most everyone aint a frag head and people cant smell how much you paid for a fragrance. The placebo effect is the COST of the fragrance.it gives a person the false sense of expecting more out of a fragrance then just smelling good.thats why creed fanboys hate on CDNIM so hard. "how dare CDNIM owners pay 25$ on a fragrance I paid 3,4 or 800$ on and they get more complements and it lasting longer too"

Alexandria Fragrances are just a touch lower quality than DUA. Not by much, but certainly I'd bet you'd have similar impression after having tried 30ish different frags from each house
@@TroyD247Mall try them out dude! AF usually gives you freebies that you specifically request. So if you buy the 7 sample set, they would likely give you 2 extra for free👍. Also the huge thing with both houses is that you shouldn't absolutely judge the fragrance until having it for about a month, they seem to require maturing period imo
I completely understand your argument. I think a point you are missing in your argument is highlight the concept series. Casino Elixir is a mixture of BR540 and Aventus. I am not a chemist and so I don’t know how to blend them. They were able to “blend” a BR540 and a Aventus, so in a sense they made a whole new fragrance. I am a collector and I love the artistry so I will never buy a clone, but as I stated above a concept series is different. Great video man!
WELL let me educate you guys us muslims can't wear perfume and pray due to alcohol contents in the bottle. Now theres 2 school of thought here some say you can some say you can't thats why we use oils in our perfume. Hope you realise now dua is perfect for us.

I was really interested in trying the YSL "Tuxedo" cologne. Several reviews mentioned the Dua 'Tux" version was 90+% close to it. I ordered the TUX and 2 other popular fragrances ... Casino Elixir and Poseidon's Desire II. They all have a very apparent synthetic base note. The Casino Elixir smells OK with the exception of the synthetic note that smells "cheap". I think that is what this reviewer is calling "unnatural". I did not care for the TUX although my wife gave it an underwhilming "its OK". The Poseidon was just terrible. Candy store sweet. I literally had to wash my arm to try to get the smell off. Maybe I just got poor choices. My guess is that Dua is a fantastic marketing company that happens to make cologne. There is a reason their site has nothing but 5 star reviews and specific reviewers just rave about their products. I frankly do not see it ....at all.
I don't get all the cynicism on Dua.. really. 1st, they don't pretend they're other than what they are. 2nd, they're providing those who don't have a lot of money, like me, to own a "photograph" of the real thing. 3rd, they're good clones. Some of them even perform better than the original. For me, my love for Dua is because of 2 things: that they're good, and way cheaper. I like The Moon from Frederic Malle. But I would never ever have the money to splurge on it. I don't live like the sultans. So, I'll just buy Apollo. I understand it's not the real thing. But I'm happy with it.

Why not? Too beastmode? I'm expecting my Hacivat sample to arrive tomorrow lol. That's funny bc I feel the opposite. I sampled 30 something frags from AF and 20 something from DUA and it was very clear to me personally DUA has better quality overall. AF makes it easy to buy samples, I think they sell 7 samples for like $40 (I bought 4 of these during my clone obsession lol). My biggest complaint is DUA doesn't offer that, so I basically pay $10 for 2ml DUA sample from the big DUA Seller on ebay. Don't get me wrong tho. AF has a few bangers (bangers in the clone world). Run Way, Bitter Soft, Citrus Splash, and Brasilia Prive are all frags I keep in my closet 👍. And for whatever reason, dude, women seem to *love* Bitter Soft (Tuscan Leather), like remarkably.

Thank you so much for this video! I just stumbled across Dua and was looking to see if the company was legit. I'm going to order some samples that I have originals for to compare, mainly BECAUSE I have female friends and aquaintances who don't have the $$$ to throw at the OGs and have even told me they would rather have a good clone. I was hoping Dua might fit the bill for some of them 👍 Thank you for sharing your thoughts and honest opinions ❤
Why buy one original when you can get 5 or 6 different ones that smell just as great!...Variety is the " spice of life!"....Quantity & quality!....Rotate your scents...
“The goal is just to smell good” Yeah, that’s how I got started. Now look at me. Spending my whole day refreshing Facebook groups, emailing some dude named Josh Lobb about restocks... where did it all go wrong?! Edit: protip for those who are also broke but of “distinguished taste”: instead of paying $50-75+ for some 30ml Duas, I’ll hunt around on eBay and pay like $70-90 for some 30ml Nasomattos. Not too much more, both extrait de parfum and Dua cannot beat the Nasomatto quality/uniqueness/presentation. There are plenty of deals out there!
sunfunbunch a. Stays on clothes till You wash them. Next day they still smell great. But a few days and all you smell is some pretty rank carrier oil. They are super loud fragrances but don’t mistake them for longevity. I get about 3 hours on skin tops. They are nuclear for about 2 hours then pretty well gone after 3-4 hours on skin alone. Clothes it’s rediculous. It will be there the next day. Then till you wash them. Just smells really bad if something sits in the laundry for a week or so. $65 for 30ml. Do the math on 100ml. That’s not cheap by any means.

For the harder to find and discontinued it’s a no brainer. Plus they have staying power unlike lots of the muddled garbage offerings in both the niche and designer world.

Spray before leaving the house and you are good for the entire day. No need for travel sprays and more bottle sales.
8 hours is a pretty long day and I’ll definitely discuss that for another video (work/office). I will say this though travel sprays aren’t really made for work. They literally are travel sprays.
Def agree 👍. I wore one spray of Invasion of Barbers to work on front of my neck and basically choked out this old lady smoker at my work... I basically rubbed it off stat lol.
i havent tried duas yet but imho I would stick to luxodor, armaf, lattafa and afnan since they only cost around 25$ 80ml to 100ml bottle
There are so many clone House or inspired House, such as Alexandria, Oil Perfumery, Zohar Aroma, Dua, Generic Perfume, n many more. These are d names I've come across. Maybe someday u can make a video which does the better performance wise that could almost be far better than the originals newer release which some cases reformulated.
I do have a few of both Originals and Inspired ones. So far... Zohar Aroma did a great job for me. As for DUA's, not only its oily but somehow it burns my skin when I wear onto my neck. Something synthetic chemicals they use too much in it I guess n it doesn't projects that much or so. Nearly unsatisfied.
As for some Originals of those comes with high price tags. They do have stage by stage changes in terms of scent wise for those who enjoy fragrance on themselves.

Not even a dua owner but what dua is offering to the masses are just like any other designer perfumes out there: they give you options. Majority of the people who will smell you wpnt even care if its a clone or not they will just say you smell good. Whether or not thats for from a $200 perfume or a $20 one doesnt really matter. Affordability attracts a lot of people especially if it comes with good quality too.
Im not sure how Dua was back then if the quality remained the same or if with time they've gotten better but i recently really started trying Dua specially their OG blends and im sold. They instantly became my favorite house. They are making the fragrances the way i wished the big name brands did. Besides somehow being able to completely copy 100% some frags, heavily concentrated and virtually never having performance issues, Dua is worth it except their 30% off makes them a greater value. I completely balled out on their labor day 30% off sale and i cant see myself paying their full price from now on.
I really like how Dua does hybrid fragrances and tribrid fragrances, etc.They also make their own fragrances. They have a good price, great performance, and smell great and that’s awesome.
When I'm wearing a fragrance clone I get this outstanding feeling of class, sophistication, and wealth that I just don't get with the originals.

That part about "not buying every single frag from a house you love". There's def wisdom in that. With every house, your lucky if you can find 1 or 2 bangers. It kinda makes one more inclined to buy more from a house simply bc you received a fragrance from that house you absolutely love. I find that to be very true. Which is why honestly, I feel a lot of time i'm spending more money of samples than actual bottles. Good example are Amouage and Parfums de marly for me.

I've been designer only to niche only and recently discovered Dua when my Milliseme Imperiale ran out and I just couldnt put up with the horrible performance. The Casino is fantastic and is spot on with what you've said, I just want to smell good and pull comps. I really enjoyed your offering here and I agree with all of it. In fact I did realize that I'm just a guy who wants to smell good and with over 50 bottles that I'll never go through, maybe it's time to just smell good and not spend so much. Thanks for your vid.

Personally, I go for the fragrances that are no longer available or next to impossible to get in the US. I have the clone of DHP- Intense Homme Attar. Also Rive Gauche- River Fougeur. When Covert - Gucci Envy is back in stock i am planning of buying that also.
I just bought Intense Homme Attar as my first DUA fragrance because Dior Homme Parfum is darn near impossible to get in the states without being price gouged. Can I ask for your opinion on it if you see this?
Also he has sales once or twice a month 25% for one or 30% for orders over 150. He announces it on the Dua Fragrance Lovers Facebook site. We save so much l, on his sales we only pay like 47 a bottle or less depending on how much you spend and they’re not all 60 some are 50 or below

A have a large niche collection. (Xerjoff being my favorite, I have a ton)
Having some DUA clones gives me a fix when I’m just hanging out at home and don’t want to spritz my 400$ niche fragrance.
I also really like their original blends. Their Banana fragrances are really fun and there aren’t too many banana fragrances out there.
I would bet that DUA encourages those large purchases via “sales”.
Navitus Parfum does the same thing.
“Take advantage of this sale! It’s for a limited time! 30% off!”
That kind of social engineering WORKS. Consistently.

All that being said I would still recommend Julianna’s Perfume over any other clone house. They are not the cheapest and they rarely have sales but they make the best dupes on the market. IMO.
The fact that most Dua collectors have around 20 plus of these perfumes says a lot. Obviously they are satisfied with the product or they wouldn't be coming back for more. My personal faves are Caramel Delight, Drowning in Vanilla, Popped Cherry, Crater, Amberlicous. Yes, they are beast mode so two sprays are more than enough, making the 30ml size just right.

I just purchased my first Dua, Supernova. Haven't received it yet, but I can't wait to smell it. I, like many people can't afford to drop $300 on a bottle of Elysium. I've never even smelled Elysium, but it's so hyped up, I wanted to get an idea of what it smells like. From many reviews that I've watched, Supernova smells just as good or better, and lasts longer. Yes, I'll know I won't have the original, but I don't care. I'm all about smelling good for less.
So how did you like Supernova? I'm extremely interested in your feedback now that you've had six months with it. Also, did you end up purchasing anything else from Dua after that?
I have Supernova and I love it big time. I also have Supernova Cologne, and it's actually so good it has earned a spot in my top 10 across my whole collection (not just against other Duas). That's no easy feat for a clone to do in my opinion, since it was going up against a pool of the best designer and niche contenders within my collection. Unfortunately, I've never smelled any of the actual Roja products just yet as I've only been collecting since q2 2020, but I will eventually get them.
In the mean time, I absolutely find these Dua fragrances to stand on their own merit as a product.
@@King_WhiteWolf I like Super Nova. I didn't at first. It smelled like a cleaning agent. I think you have to let Duas maserate. I also have Midnight Rendezvous, Imperiale' Pasteque, Divine Energy, and recently picked up Bleu De Dua Attar. I'm definitely letting that one sit for a couple of weeks. It smells weak.
My signature scent used to be Parfums de Marley Layton until i sprayed Casino Royale Nights ITS A GAME CHANGER #Dua4Life
You should try royal chariots attar.. their take on the Layton and my god is it good. Huge performance, 95% similar.

Nice overview and I agree with you on everything. But one thing I wanted to point out is that Niche/Designers houses brought this on themselves. Almost every Niche house has a fragrance that can be considered a “clone”. The designers are just as bad releasing the same scent with a twist everything is a blue scent now days even Dior Homme 2020. At least these clone house are upfront about it and tell you it is a clone and not trying to pass it off as an“original” like all these Niche houses are doing. Also, the prices are just getting out of control for the valve you get in these Niche houses and designers reformulation are insane right now.
I don’t own many designers but I can see the whole flanker business getting a bit crazy lol.
For me, with frags like Bergamot 22 and Puredistance M, these frags are not only expensive, but they're nearly impossible to find on the discounter's markets... so for DUA to provide that "fragrance availability" - I think it's something really great imo 👍
I’ve been collecting for 6 years or so and was scared to try dua our because one of the reviewers I respect a great deal said the 13zz. Smelled like wood chips. Tried them anyway for their casino and was hooked. Great house and Sam is a pretty cool guy. He listens to his customers and the customer service is outstanding. If you hate them it’s mostly because you’ve not tried them.
Well the customer service replies after a week or so. Very slow.

i think another advantage to duas is because its a smaller bottle , and it cost $60ish , someone who wants to try multiple fragrances can do so at the price of one niche.

I am a dua fanboy and yes I prefer dua to the original anytime, try comparing dua to creeds...also, Duas need to macerate, do not judge a dua before it sits for two week to a month, they are shipped fresh and need time to project...also dua has a sale every month or so...25-30%
They need to mascerate because they literally just mix pre made oils into perfumers alcohol. Not to mention the almond smell from the shitty carrier oils...
@@milescox9427 They're obviously not on the level of most niche fragrances and just in terms of the opening if I compare my normal Creeds, Xerjoffs, TFs etc. they're just not on the same level in terms of those initial 20min that really are when you fall in love with a fragrance. That being said they're fine, many of their hybrids work just well and if I want a nice opening with them I just put on one of the Guerlain Les Colognes on with them. Most have really good performance, they don't smell too artificial at all, they do have quite nice ambergris in some of their fragrances which really puts them above most designers nowadays.

I own the original Tom Ford Oud Wood Intense but left it in my home while I am outside the country for a year now. Ordered the Dua clone and I dont smell much of a difference. I get the Tom Ford vibe immediately. But I agree. Spraying on the original TF OWI gives you a better more confident feeling. Also have the Dua clone of Creed Virgin Island Waters and dont know the original. This one smells to me a bit cheap. Maybe the original does as well. But the durability and projection is insane. Its now a week on my hoodie and still projects.
I own 50+ original fragrances and now got into the Dua game. Ordered 8 Dua fragrances yesterday, lost a bit of control. With some of them I feel like I made a mistake. For example Liquid Mind Control costs $75 while the original from Nasomatto costs 20 bucks more. Some are overpriced at Dua. But yeah, I got the 30% off so its a good deal I guess.

Man Bacarat and creed are so easy to clone you gotta give Mahsam credit for the Tom ford line . I loved the Oud minerale from TF and Dua version is Aoud and mineral however its so close to original especially dealing with sea notes and oud . Fruity notes are easy to clone .

I think if designer brands would stop diluting their products to the point of people wanting to look elsewhere these brands wouldn’t exist. I have a pretty large collection and most of the time I’m going to spend the extra money on the real deal but for fragrances that have been discontinued or have gone downhill because of reformulation dua makes a compelling product.and although it’s always been one of my favorites and is still my wife’s next to Chanel AHSEE is Abercrombie fierce I’ve had just about every bottle they’ve put out and they e gotten weaker and weaker I’ve got legend and legend edp PDM percival and none have come close to the OG formulation besides the intense version that’s also discontinued so I gave duas #fierce a try and was blown away not only did they make a parfum concentration of the original that is nuclear it actually smells more natural than fierce it doesn’t have that big iso e hit at the beginning and the performance blows that one out of the water 3-4 sprays will last you all day no question. Since I’ve bought a few others including ysl LNdL blu eletrique that was discontinued is also very close. For me that’s the only time they make sense obviously if it’s a fragrance that’s on the market right now I’m going to say save up and get the real deal but personally I’m not going to spend hundreds on an old bottle of a discontinued fragrance that’s oxidized and that’s not going to perform like it used to just to say I have the “original” nobody cares people wear fragrances to smell good and these do that in spades. You’ll be surprised how much you get out of that 30ml bottle. I’d you are going to go to dua always google for coupon codes I’ve always gotten 25-30% off on the few bottles I have

You actually can pay more for the DUA clones than the original. The Dua is between $55-$75 an ounce where most designer colognes can be $25-$50 an ounce.
Don't go for designers. Just go for niche or discontinued clones
That's a great point, and no one mentions the cost per quantity. Fragheads with sizable collections almost never go through a whole bottle of anything, so a 30 ml will be "enough" - but in comparison, as you mentioned, the Dua can be WAY overpriced for the tiny quantity they offer.

Alexandria Fragrances are just a touch lower quality than DUA. Not by much, but certainly I'd bet you'd have similar impression after having tried 30ish different frags from each house

Also the huge thing with both houses is that you shouldn't absolutely judge the fragrance until having it for about a month, they seem to require maturing period imo

I completely understand your argument. I think a point you are missing in your argument is highlight the concept series. Casino Elixir is a mixture of BR540 and Aventus. I am not a chemist and so I don’t know how to blend them. They were able to “blend” a BR540 and a Aventus, so in a sense they made a whole new fragrance. I am a collector and I love the artistry so I will never buy a clone, but as I stated above a concept series is different. Great video man!

I was really interested in trying the YSL "Tuxedo" cologne. Several reviews mentioned the Dua 'Tux" version was 90+% close to it. I ordered the TUX and 2 other popular fragrances ... Casino Elixir and Poseidon's Desire II. They all have a very apparent synthetic base note. The Casino Elixir smells OK with the exception of the synthetic note that smells "cheap". I think that is what this reviewer is calling "unnatural". I did not care for the TUX although my wife gave it an underwhilming "its OK". The Poseidon was just terrible. Candy store sweet. I literally had to wash my arm to try to get the smell off. Maybe I just got poor choices. My guess is that Dua is a fantastic marketing company that happens to make cologne. There is a reason their site has nothing but 5 star reviews and specific reviewers just rave about their products. I frankly do not see it ....at all.

I don't get all the cynicism on Dua.. really. 1st, they don't pretend they're other than what they are. 2nd, they're providing those who don't have a lot of money, like me, to own a "photograph" of the real thing. 3rd, they're good clones. Some of them even perform better than the original.
For me, my love for Dua is because of 2 things: that they're good, and way cheaper.
I like The Moon from Frederic Malle. But I would never ever have the money to splurge on it. I don't live like the sultans. So, I'll just buy Apollo. I understand it's not the real thing. But I'm happy with it.

That's funny bc I feel the opposite. I sampled 30 something frags from AF and 20 something from DUA and it was very clear to me personally DUA has better quality overall. AF makes it easy to buy samples, I think they sell 7 samples for like $40 (I bought 4 of these during my clone obsession lol). My biggest complaint is DUA doesn't offer that, so I basically pay $10 for 2ml DUA sample from the big DUA Seller on ebay.
Don't get me wrong tho. AF has a few bangers (bangers in the clone world). Run Way, Bitter Soft, Citrus Splash, and Brasilia Prive are all frags I keep in my closet 👍. And for whatever reason, dude, women seem to *love* Bitter Soft (Tuscan Leather), like remarkably.

I'm going to order some samples that I have originals for to compare, mainly BECAUSE I have female friends and aquaintances who don't have the $$$ to throw at the OGs and have even told me they would rather have a good clone. I was hoping Dua might fit the bill for some of them 👍

Yeah, that’s how I got started. Now look at me. Spending my whole day refreshing Facebook groups, emailing some dude named Josh Lobb about restocks... where did it all go wrong?!
Edit: protip for those who are also broke but of “distinguished taste”: instead of paying $50-75+ for some 30ml Duas, I’ll hunt around on eBay and pay like $70-90 for some 30ml Nasomattos. Not too much more, both extrait de parfum and Dua cannot beat the Nasomatto quality/uniqueness/presentation. There are plenty of deals out there!

You wash them. Next day they still smell great. But a few days and all you smell is some pretty rank carrier oil. They are super loud fragrances but don’t mistake them for longevity. I get about 3 hours on skin tops. They are nuclear for about 2 hours then pretty well gone after 3-4 hours on skin alone. Clothes it’s rediculous. It will be there the next day. Then till you wash them. Just smells really bad if something sits in the laundry for a week or so. $65 for 30ml. Do the math on 100ml. That’s not cheap by any means.
Nice video. You dropped a lot of general information. This would’ve been a great video separately from actually describing/making a comparison between the original and inspiration. If you wanna sell that casino elixir tho let me know !

Wayyyy too much thought goes into frags. 99% of the planet couldnt care less about frags. Just us weird people. Just buy what you like and wear it. Easy.

For the harder to find and discontinued it’s a no brainer. Plus they have staying power unlike lots of the muddled garbage offerings in both the niche and designer world.
