Great review. Years ago my wife suggested our apartment living room to be my old school gym (had one in garage but had moved). “You don’t like that couch anyway…” That was some 30 years ago or thereabouts. I am blessed. And can see you are too.
Found this video as I was doing some research about some adjustable dumbbells and it has been really helpful to see your gym. On top of that, physical therapists are some of my favorite people considering how much they have helped me through injuries in my past. I was not expecting to see a segment on standing desks but that was a helpful segment for me too. I really like the uplift desk but it's really expensive too. as someone who has hip issues, I've realized how important a decent desk chair is too. Considering you do have a standing desk you might not be sitting that much, but I would highly recommend the Herman Miller Aeron chair which you can probably pick up used at a office wholesale space. Ever since using that chair although it is the most expensive piece of furniture I own, I'm grateful to have it and it has definitely helped with my physical well-being. Wishing you the best in your endeavors I hope one day I would be able to pick up one of those power block dumbbells
WOW! Fantastic video! Incredibly informative! I was looking to set up a 12x12 workout and film room and found this video via google search. Thank you for a well thought out and detail oriented tour of your gym and office! I appreciate your rationale behind the purchases. Plus, LOVE the dogs! Thanks again! Direct, informative and no fluff, awesome job!!!!
This is very useful, i also spent a lot of time researching what gym equipment to buy for my home, totally agree on your recommendations. Thank you for the video!
To do weighted pull ups because you can't use a dip belt, I'd recommend using the Kensui weight vest that GGR recommends. It means you can incrementally load and progressively overload using the weight plates you already have.
Would you do a video on how to do pain free dips? Your form is great. I keep trying them and get shoulder discomfort and struggle to feel my chest. Great video
Do you get noise complaint underneath you everytime you work out. Also did you put plywood underneath of the rubbermats. I am just worried that it might get some crack or goes through if my equipments are so damn heavy. I have about 800 pounds total weight of gym equipments which I am going to take with me to my 3rd floor apartment, one of the bedroom will be gym room.
@@yesenialopez1332 Hey sorry for the late reply. Nope I did not ended up putting my gym equipments to my apartment as it might cause damage to apartment and the apartment below me. I ended up leaving my gym equipments to my parents house. I work out there at times. My parents are worried that it might be too heavy cause the floor to colapse or damage.
02:35 - Does the Rogue Ohio Power Bar have smooth sleeves? or do the sleeves have those ridges you can really hear as you put on and take off the plates?
Welcome to the rainy times of PnW, hope you're coping well this past week ha. Gyms just introduced vaccine checks so PowerBlocks here I come. Thanks for the video, lots of great ideas for my apartment gym.
I always wanted to have a home gym, but I live in an apartment and have always being afraid of a home gym on a high floor, you think it is fine to deadlift on an appartment?
Hi @E3 Rehab I'm having snapping or clicking on the elbow whenever i do pushing movements like push ups, bench press and dips but it's not there when i do any kind of pulling movements can you guide me for what could be the issue and how to fix it.
@@E3Rehab I know this is an old video, but how tall are you? I'm pretty short so I'm trying to see how comfortably I'd be able to do pullups on this rack!
What do you do about noise? I’m in a similar situation and running a SML-2 setup. Like even racking the weight for heavy bench or squats it makes a lot of noise even with my 2” floor padding.
Nice setup! I have the same rack as yours(SmL-1 monster lite) but it isn’t connected to the wall. I’m 6 foot but was thinking I’m too tall and weight too much to get a pull up bar attached.(195 lbs). What do u think ?
Your gym looks great! Do you have a way to deadlift in there? Being on the third floor I wonder whether there are some cushions you can use or something like that. Thanks for the great content!
Hi - I also have the sm1 rack and was thinking of getting the dip bar add on but rogue doesn’t recommend for the rack. How do you find it using it on the sm1? Is it stable enough?
I purchased the smooth socket pull up bar so it makes it a little more stable. I'm 170lbs and have added up to 70lbs with a dip belt without any significant problems (there's a slight wobble).
@@E3Rehab Well that's on them then I guess, because that's a completely inaccurate description lmao. A CPU goes in the socket of the motherboard, which is inside the case, and the case is held by that bracket. There's also a GPU, RAM, hard drives and sometimes other extra stuff inside, never just a CPU.
Weird to have rhat in the living room. As a rental property and apartment owner yikes. Not sure how id feel about that. And you hang equipment on the wall. Yikes!

As a fellow upstairs home gymer, I appreciate all of this. Looks great!
Dreaming about my own home gym in a few years... Haha. Yours looks so great!
This was a good detailed view at the gym. I like that you displayed how to use the equipment

I find pre-exhaust superset is great for mind-muscle connection.

Hey Mark! Awesome gym.
05:38 as a PT and a gamer I am also very curious about the PC specs. Wondering if Mark is more of a Nvidia or AMD Radeon type of guy.
Ah yes, been wondering what my upstairs neigbor does to produce all the noise they make.
Hope you make more home gym videos.
you should get the costco cable machine i just picked that up and it also comes with a pull up bar so its a plus
Was the pc a self build or did you buy it pre built
Custom build about 2 years ago.
@@E3Rehab decent specs?
@@redmckenzie820 Yes. My computer is one other thing I value.
How much weight have you squatted in there? Stupid question, but does it feel like the floor would be comprised in any way?
Deadlifted 315. I weigh 170. No concerns.

Nice gym! Are you still doing upright Rows? 👀
Nah. I don't enjoy them and I think lateral raises are more effective for training the delts.
I had a L5S1 fusion about 2 years ago. I do kettlebell squats now but would traditional squats such as ones from the rogue rack be ok to do or risky?
Does the squat stand have a wide enough base for suspension training without being bolted down? Nice gym!
Never tried, but I'd probably put some weights on the back just to be safe.

Weight wouldn't be an issue, but you'd have to hold a hanging knee raise to do pull ups probably.
How tall are you if you don't mind me asking? I'm 5'4 just trying to get a size comparison

I normally perform RDLs so it's not too much of a problem for me.

Titan, Rogue, Rep Fitness, and Bells of Steel sell thick crash pads that silence drops well.

Is it 419 for one of the dumbells?
Whatever the price listed is for a set of dumbbells.
