- This is a truck tour of my 2022 Freightliner Cascadia 126. Also my likes and dislikes about the truck compared to my old peterbilt 579 ultraloft. Missed my cabinets 😍. Full sized microwave fits but not fully. On the right in the back there's a piece of plastic blocking it from going all the way in..we're going to be putting it on top of the floor fridge and the printer in the microwave spot. Let's hope Shawn actually STRAPS THE MICROWAVE DOWN THIS TIME!! Lol😘. The closet will be a pantry just gotta build custom shelves. Attached to the floor fridge on top there's another drawer that could fit maybe 3 trucker atlas. For the fridge on top we haven't tried putting it up there yet but will try and update here or discord if it fits. The first drive video will be coming next! 🥰

I used to park my truck like you on my driveway until and unhappy neighbor started calling the city code enforcement on me complaining about my truck in my own property and since then they haven’t stopped harassing me and driving every week around my neighborhood is just unbelievable so I hope you don’t have that issue
Thankfully we have a super awesome neighbor and a pretty quite neighborhood for the most part. Everyone seems to mind their business which is nice. The good thing for me is my truck site more than 14 feet from the roadway in my driveway so I'm not super worried about it. Sorry for the super late response.

Why did you go with the basic if you don't mind me asking? How much more would one of the premium trucks have costed per month? And are you going to do a video with a breakdown of your costs and stuff?
Hey first off thanks for watching the video I really do appreciate it! Ask away I don't mind.
I went with the basic truck not because of the price but because of the features and the probability of having to deal with some headaches like not being able to get an upgraded mattress for the bunk because we wouldn't be able to use the loft feature with a huge mattress. I'll speak more about that in another video soon. Also the chrome package, I'm not big on Chrome and the premium comes with Chrome mirror covers and a Chrome grill. The seats are leather and being from Arizona I hate leather because of the heat lol and the fact that I plan on upgrading my seats at some point anyway.
Now the costs, and I will break it down in more detail in another video as well but. The initial "security deposit/down payment" for the basic truck was $3,400 and the premium truck was $5,500. I would feel more comfortable explaining the payment structure in a video so I can explain it in detail and much better than I would in a comment.
Yes I will be doing a video with the breakdown of my overhead costs and such. Hopefully I can get that video out soon but since we just got the truck and have a lot to get done it may take a week or so for me to upload that video. The premium truck leather seats are heated and cooled.
Yeah, you can look on the website and see all the features for either. The premium just didn't fit what I wanted so wasn't willing to pay the extra. I plan on getting different upgraded seats in the future anyway so was no point.

Do you the option to choose the color bro just got approved
When I did my security deposit, they asked what color I wanted and I told them I really didn't care but they put me down for charcoal. I'm sure if you want a specific color you can tell them but it may limit you on how soon you get your truck. Good luck and stay safe out there!

Update: our fridge does not fit on the top. We will be going with a new one later on.
Does SFI monitor their trucks in any way ,critical events speed etc like company does? and will they allow you to have the dealership to program your transmission variables, how it shifts,etc to your desired settings?
They have the collision mitigation system and lane departure systems and all the bells and whistles. I have already had jackasses cut me off and set off the "critical event" which just pops up on the dashboard. Haven't received a single call on any of them, pretty sure they don't monitor those systems. What they do have access to, is the camera system. They have 2 cameras on the mirrors facing down the side of the truck/trailer if someone sideswipes you, also 1 facing outward in the cab. The only way for those cameras to record anything is to get in an accident or you push the button to record the last 30 seconds to 10 minutes I think is how they explained it.
Where the "monitoring" comes in, is with whatever carrier you decide to go with. If they require the systems to report to them then you kinda wouldn't have a choice. With landstar you have the option to give them access to those systems or not. Obviously I chose not to and again, haven't had any calls and that stupid ass collision system has gone off a few times and has slammed my brakes thinking a sign was a car. Hope that helps answer that question.
As far as getting settings changed, that would be a question for them, as I am unsure and never asked. I know they allow you to do modifications like chicken lights and such but you have to have all that approved with your account admin before you can.
All of these questions would probably be better answered by giving them a call though. They're humans, they haven't lied to me about anything so far and the are pretty straight to the point on stuff.

What's dirty? It may be a little dusty inside but that's just from the transport up from Mexico. Or if you're talking about the outside it's the same thing. It was transported up here from Mexico and must've went through some storms or something.

Optimized idle sux , can you get trucks with APU'S on them?
I hate opti-idle with a passion. Not sure about apu's you could give them a call and ask. When I got mine this was the only option
For a new truck that thing is filthy inside and out. I hope you got a detail in deal.
It was a little dusty inside when I got it, not terrible though. I detail it myself when I have time. Don't trust people enough to let them in my truck. The outside got rinsed off before I took possession of it. Don't bother me, it's a work truck.

Yeah, unfortunately their wait is insane right now. I got in right before it got really bad. My buddy that ordered in August or September is being told that his wait is until June or July. Hopefully it speeds up for y'all!

Unfortunately, these wait times are exact. When I ordered, I had to wait 6-8 weeks and they called me on week 8 for acceptance of my truck.
How do you like the SFI lease / purchase…????

Do they allow you to pick the brand of truck I really dont like the new cascadia there cheap and once KW always KW I would like the t680 and if not the pete 579 would be ok I dont drive volvo or freightliner!
To each their own lol. If I could afford it I'd be driving a 379 or W900. As far as them allowing you to choose which truck. As far as I know they still do, but don't hold me to that. I know on their site when I was looking offered most the manufacturers like KW, pete, Volvo etc etc. But they are all the newer models like the t680 and 579 ultraloft. I would call and ask, the worse they'd say is no.
With the truck shortage and manufacturers struggling to keep up with demand and recover from when they were shut down some may take longer than others so keep that in mind as well.

Is this a lease to own?
With sfi you have a few different options.
1. You can turn the truck in once your lease is up and walk away.
2. You can turn your truck in after 3 years and upgrade into a new truck for another 3 year lease.
3. You can buyout the remaining balance after 3 years, price depends on the truck you get and what lease terms they have at the time. My buyout after 3 years will be roughly $50,000

Which allows you to "refinance" for another 2 years which drops the $50,000 balloon payment by a lot.
How long did it take to get your truck?
Dropped my security deposit on the truck in the first week of June. My truck was ready for pickup on September 14th. So roughly 3 and a half almost 4 months. And that's not just sfi, the entire truck shortage affected all dealers.
@@OShawnTravels thanks for the reply. I am waiting for my freightliner from sfi too, I was told truck would be ready 1st week of August and still waiting now in October.
@@NickC876 I went through the same thing bud. It was "mid july" then "beginning of august" then "mid to end of August" finally ended up here mid September. If you're getting a truck or want to get a truck through sfi they have 2 truck types, basic and premium. You can see their options and what they come with by visiting sfitrucks.com/inventory if you are wanting to buy a truck from any other dealership I have not the slightest clue on what you can and cannot order from them.
One important/valuable perk you didn’t mention that comes with all new SFI Cascadia trucks, is that you get the maximum factory warranty of 650k.
You are correct, sorry I failed to mention that. It is an important perk. I've already thought of making an updated video because I did miss a lot of stuff I should've covered.
@@OShawnTravels nah no need to apologize bro. Great video. The warranty that comes with those trucks is above and beyond what the basic warranty is and you have to pay thousands extra to get the maximum Freightliner warranty.
Does it have airbag dump?
Negative.... one of the downsides. Atleast on my 2022 basic model. My friends 2023 premium model has it and his is also through sfi. Not sure if it's a premium thing or a year thing.
