Jeezy, I feel like the clipper over comb you did at the beginning after debulking was futile.
360 jeezy on straight hair ain't the one, the way he does the same routine and cutting methods on different hair is annoying to watch. The same technique doesn't work for every haircut. The fade masks the fact this haircut isn't what he asked for

Sorry jeezy but this ain’t the one. Your cuts are normally fire but you haven’t tailored the clients hair to the cut. The same technique doesn’t work for everyone and the client got a haircut he didn’t ask for. You needed to leave more bulk at the sides to let the hair on top lay on something when pushed back. The man ended up getting a mow-hawk. The fade doesn’t always save a haircut

You need to stop undercutting your slickbacks on certain textures because you’re getting rid of the bulk that gives the hair that slickback look. This haircut looks alright now but when he showers and tries to slick it back himself it ain’t gonna look like a slickback anymore

Client may have wanted the volume, but yeah typically a slick back connects with the sides and is blow dried flat against the head rather than up
And he probably charges $150 for this type of haircut. I can get the same type of haircut for $15 by an old cambodian lady.

I think more length on the sides would have given it more of a slick back look . The sides look too disconnected in my opinion.
I prefer the scissor over comb technique on my hair it leaves it more natural too

This is not a slick back, All these haircuts look the same, you give them all a high skin fade, then cut a line across their forehead and then you mess up the top.

I've always been a jeezy fan but this type of textured hair from him has just been getting worse. The fade weren't it, the slick back weren't it. The clipper over comb shouldn't have been done over the 1 guard open. It left a bit of darkness around where the bulk should be

Those sides aren't blending right man. I think your initial sectioning is causing the issue cause the 1 was brought up so high and so tight that it's nearly impossible to blend the long hair in with the sides and have it lay how a slickback look should. I saw the same thing in your recent mullet taper video. Nonetheless, the fade looks cold though.

We’re you cutting before you went to barber school? I’m in school now but I don’t cut yet and I feel behind from everyone else lightweight.
Where I’m at everyone is at a different level I’ve cut for two years most people have never held a clipper and some do the families hair but just makes friends and learn that’s about the best advice you can get. Hopefully this helps out!
Just try to get your reps in by cutting hair, I was the only one in my class that didn’t cut hair before school so I felt left behind and wasn’t taught how to cut hair because we didn’t have an instructor. Just watch your classmates cut (watch UA-cam videos) and try to find a system that’s work for you. It takes time and dedication👍🏼

This looks more like a pomp than a slick back. I feel like your initial guideline with the #1 was too high… I would’ve done a low bald fade and slightly drop it towards the back.
