I use sand for the tests, but the Spirit of Oppression artifact. Anyway, I am planning a separate video without the spirit of oppression to allow for morale and see the differences.
The problem with them is, units were designed to fit within a faction's roster. Genies losing to minotaurs means nothing about the usefulness of the genie in the Tower armies. They are fun, though.
Yes, you are absolutely right, but I really wanted to do such a league, where each will have the chance to challenge their peers. Otherwise, I have already planned series of full roster vs full roster for all factions. Stay tuned!
While playing that game as a child, this unit was my favourite amongst the level 5. Don't care if they aren't the strongest or fastest, I just loved them. And somehow they gave me psychological advantage or fear if I had them or was fighting against them. I respected them even more than the vampire.
Well to be honest, just a couple of these early on pack a huge punch against the map and help clear tons of enemies. Also later on, it is easy to forget/miscalculate how much speed they have and the effect of positive morale. I have lost plenty of archer units to those guys choosing to move instead of waiting and getting extra morale, before I can take care of them. 😅😅
@HeroesKitchen I also vividly remember (because I only played as a child) that a lot of times those Minotaurs were screwing my shooters. Either with the morale or just because when they got close, they always took too much quantities and were disabling the shooter to shoot of course. But when I had them, a lot of times I could kill the AI units or when it attacked them, they were tough. And such, were taking too much turn for the AI, which was helping me to use other of my units(lv 6 or 7 of course) to kill other AI units.
When there are 7 stacks, and more units there is higher chance of the lightning activating and it is more impactful. Just consider this - if 60 thunderbirds get lightning strike on first attack that is 600 additional damage to the damage they already dealt, before the enemy retaliates. With 7 stacks and 20% chance to activate, I would say it is quite impactful. If it is only a few birds and just one stack, chances of this working are much slower. On the other side, good morale has only 12.5% chance to activate and it gives you a second attack after the enemy retaliated, which is not always better. What do you think?
@@HeroesKitchen isnt Thunderstrike 10% tho? Anyway its unrealistic scenario becouse in real gameplay you will have 1 power stack. It would be interesting to see 1 stack vs 1 stack in terms of how different the result would be. And pls change artifact to -1 morale. With it heroes will have 0 morale but Minotaurs Bravery will not be negated. Archangels will also keep their +1 bonus and Gosties -1.
I took the percentage from the wiki - it says 20%. I always felt when I had them that it is way too low, and against me way too high though. I will actually redo these episodes - the one with the Minotaur and the one with the Ghost Dragon, to just see if the results will be different and how different. For the Archangels - I don't think there is need to do that, they already crushed everyone, good morale is just....unnecessary.
I have a question. That Thunderbird was very squishy back in the day. I remember it was kinda easily killable and was only good for its speed and flying(when attacking castles for example). It was kinda average, even below average so to say. But here, in those battle series, that bird somehow almost never dies and wins almost all battles. How is that happening? Is there any upgrade in its stats those last years or something? I really don't remember that bird to be so strong.
Нет , они всегда были такие , вы недооцениваете преимущество первого удара , плюс молния это 10 чистого урона за каждого юнита, также 60 хп ,притом их навыки атаки ,защиты и урона все еще посредственны , особенно по сравнению с минотаврами
I think it can feel squishy and die easily, because the Stronghold Barbarian heroes get primarily attack points and none of the units of the race are famous for their defense stats. Even with a level 20 Barbarian hero, you are more like to just have a few defense points from the level ups. The race is built for speed and hard hitting, greatly benefitting from Haste. Also using expert Shield or Stone skin is big on this race. What do you think?
@@HeroesKitchen The problem is I don't understand a lot of what you said. When I was playing, I didn't undersand the stats. I only knew about the HP and speed starts. Almost didn't care for attack degence and others. And just because HP is always the biggest number, that was the thing that mainly captured my attention as a child. The other stats were just like a bonus. The game does whatever it does with its laws. I was just looking for speed to see if possible to catch the other units and "using the HP numbers" to consider how and who to attack. And about the 'squishyness', there were just some units that are kind of easy to kill and others hard. Maybe because they have good or bad defence. But as I said, I never paid attention to those stats.
Didn't expect MooMoos to lose, though lots of melee fights are decided by who hits first. And poor Zealots. Just checking their stats now I see how bad they are. Their dmg range ends where Minos's begin.
You are right! I am preparing an alternative video for them (Archangels do not need the extra boost), which will have morale enabled. In my personal opinion though, as I haven't recorded and set up the video yet, positive morale will not be a gamechanger for most battles (that is my prediction at least). Do you think they will get more points?
Мне кажется автор юзает артефакт нейтрализующий моральный дух всех существ, что в случае с быканами , конечно, недопустимо- это тоже самое,что у горгон убрать смертельный взгляд
Yes, that is correct - all the maps were created with the Spirit of Oppression artifact which prevents good morale from activating, in effect weaking the minotaurs. However the chance for good morale is only 12.5% and I don't think it actually affects the battle results, but we will see this in the alternate episode for minotaurs, where I will remove this artifact.
No Genies would loose anyway. 50hp, 15 atk/def and 12-20dmg vs 40hp, 12 atk/def and 13-16 dmg. Do the math. And Minos didnt get single morale becouse this guy is using the wrong artifact.
Because this is their growth with whole build town without any additional bonuses such as week, external dwellings, grail or artifacts. Same as Magma Elementals they have growth of 8 per week. Also technically it is also (relatively) accurate cost wise
The AI definitely makes some "pro" moves from time to time. It sometimes throws me off my chair. Like the first time I saw it moving the dendroids, which literally tripped and blocked each other... Well, it is quite fun to be honest. I've grown to enjoy all the moments of recording this series.
Minotaurs are always happy and ready for battle, good fighting stats and always good morale no matter the situation. Truely a gigachad of a unit.
Strong and reliable hitter for sure. They need to be, after all they are followed by the....Scorpicore...🤣

Pit lords did much better than expected. Also holy fck Thunderbirds are insane Oo
Insanely unreliable. I feel like lightning bolt triggers twice more often when I'm playing against them.
Thunderbirds seem a bit more powerful in these tests too.
@regina_george340 I have noticed the same thing 😅😅

In the fight against Thunderbirds it would be better and more fair if the Minotaurs defended the first round.
Yes Minotaurcan beat Thunderbird 1v1. The problem is that AI is dumb. Also no morale for Minos.

Do Zealots still have the no melee penalty ability or HOta took that away?
They still have it. That's basically the only thing you get from the upgrade. +3defense and +2speed is worthless on that unit.
