Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione 'Verde York': Straight Pipe Exhaust Sound, Intake Noise & More!

- Some days ago I spent the afternoon with this special Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione. The 'Evo' was built as the final homologation version for Lancia Rally Team to further reiterate the supremacy in the World Rally Championship. These successes were celebrated with a series of special limited editions, each showcasing a unique colour and interior trim.
Unveiled in 1991 the Evoluzione was powered by a 16 valves non-catalysed 2.0-litre, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine producing 210 hp. The one you see in this video is called 'Verde York' and it was released in the summer of 1992 with a distinctive dark green finishing and cream leather upholstery. It was based on the standard Evoluzione but offered with 2 different engine variants: the 16 valves engine of the base Evo or a 8 valve variant with catalytic converter. Around 500 examples were built. There was also a third version sold in 1994 after the insistence of French importers who wanted a 16v 'Verde York' but with a catalytic converter, so a small series of cars equipped with the dark green colour on a 'Evoluzione 2' base was made (22 examples).
The one you see in this video is not a 100% stock Verde York but it features 17'' Speedline Corse Montecarlo wheels and some mods to the 16v engine which increased the total power to around 300 hp. Hear the typical raw and cawing sound the 2.0-litre engine produces with a fully straight piped exhaust plus the lovely turbo's puffs recorded with a microphone I placed near the air filter!

I agree. It's got some harsh frequencies... a resonator would take the edge off a little bit without losing much volume.

@@MrMirko9999 capisco l'italiano, però non parlo. Ti rispondo in English if you don't mind. (I tried lol) I don't want an electric Delta EVER (only if it's fast enough I'll consider xD) but I'm a petrolhead. Only thing is I don't personally like the exhaust note that specific one does. I prefer more bassy sound and less trumpety, let's say it that way. The engine sounded wonderfully as I said. But it's a matter of musical taste, not a matter of car passion. Italian cars are ones of my favorite just because the noise they make, specially the Italian classics, is like an orchestra, and this one like a trumpet, but was not a matter of disrespect. Oh, I'm Spanish by the way. Grazie mile 😉👍 Forza Italia 🇮🇹

This car has aged so well. Love the looks and that color. Not a fan of the sound though. I think it’s just loud but doesn’t sound nice.

For 12 years was my car: great satisfaction 1995 cc 4 cyl.turbo Garrett limited series.n.287 "verde york world champion" for 6 times!! The same cyl 4 engine 1995 cc now is in Giulia and Stelvio alfa but with new buildings in aluminum with 283,7 hp and the same 0-100 in 5.2 sec and remember my delta..

It was a really fun car. It was more fun to drive than a Ferrari, a Lamborghini, a Porsche. The handling that turns from the waist, and the excellent turbo power that immediately raises the engine speed when the time is right. I can't drive now, so I can't ride. Preferisco il sound dell'aspirazione in questo video. La marmitta è talmente aperta che la fà borbottare così poco che non sembra quasi più originale. In ogni caso è ovviamente stupenda
Non è questione di scarico, le Delta che fanno questo rumore non hanno la turbina che montava in origine.

A quanto ho capito è un evo 1 ha spinterogeno, con dettagli evo due...... gocciolatoi, tappo benzina in alluminio e volante evo 2, x i cavalli 305 cv 100 in più dell originale......

Because the manifold is not the same length for each cylinder. This is bad for several reasons.
