The year 1919 turned out to be just the most successful for the White Army. By August, the Soviet Republic found itself in a ring of fronts. That's what they say in Russian historiography - "Soviet Russia in the ring of fronts." However, the presence of the interventionists and the absence of a unified and sane political campaign convinced the Russian population that the Whites were simply serving the interventionists, so it was in the most unsuccessful year for the Red Army that the support of the Bolsheviks by the people reached its apogee. And because of this, the Bolsheviks managed to change the situation at the front in their favor.
For those wondering, the Social Revolutionary party was a center left political party that was opposed to the Bolsheviks and sided with Kolchak, hoping they could have a hand in forming a government if he were to have won the civil war.

This word is shorter form of "Учредительное собрание" - Constituent Assembly - it must become first russian democratic parliament, but bolsheviks destroyed that plans. "Эсер" іs abbreviation from "социалист-революционер" - revolutionary socialist. Party of revolutionary socialists was very popular, and if Constituent Assembly was formed they got most of the places in parliament.

There was not white army in 1917, it appeared in may 1918 with rebellion of General Krasnov.
