Thank you so much for watching!
Waking up on the train thinking we were going to the Philippines was a little strange. We set off as if we were going to another planet. As tempting as it is, it's still scary especial.
We have long dreamed of living on tropical islands. It's hard to believe that soon it will become a reality.
But now the train is taking us in the opposite direction. We have to travel almost a thousand and a half kilometers north from Krasnodar to Moscow, in order to fly back south.
    Sheremetyevo airport looked empty.
To get through weight control, most of our clothes had to be thrown away at the airport.
It's a little sad, but we realize it's necessary. The most precious thing now is our life, our freedom, our peace of mind, and the fact that we are together, even if life gets tough.
We would be flying with Qatar Airways. It was the cheapest option at the time.
For some more time he can feel the plane's touch with the homeland, but then the connection disappears, and the land begins to recede rapidly away, disappearing like a mirage.
The plane flew higher and we breathed a sigh of relief.
We have mixed emotions: happiness is sometimes replaced by anxiety. We don't have much money, we don't have a place to live. But we're glad we left all the chaos going on in Russia.
The huge, gray city disappeared into the fog. All that's left around us is the vast horizon. We fly away from this cold world into the unknown.
The plane made one last turn and headed towards the equator.
First we will be on a five and a half hour flight to Doha, the capital of Qatar. There we would change planes to the Philippines.
Soon my husband will be in the tropics for the first time, seeing the ocean surf, smelling the scents of the rainforest.
And now our plane is coming in for a landing.
We are greeted by Doha, the largest city and capital of the Arab state of Qatar, located on the shores of the Persian Gulf.
We have arrived at Doha International Airport, where we will spend the next 10 hours.
I also figured out how we can use WiFi at the airport. We are glad because we won't have to get bored waiting for the next flight. My mom and sisters Darilyn and Danica will be waiting for us at the airport in Manila. We have asked them to rent a car so we can get from Manila to our province, Pangasinan, more conveniently.
It is finally morning, and we could finally make our way to the gate for our next flight. The weather is beautiful and the mood is improving.
When the plane took off, we had a beautiful view of the city and the Persian Gulf. We had planned to sleep the entire flight, but ended up just looking out the window and anticipating our arrival in the Philippines.
We were now flying over the Arab Emirates and the artificial islands of Dubai were floating under the wings of the plane.
I had a stopover in Dubai when I flew to Boria in Armenia and was thrilled to have stepped foot in this amazing city for once in my life.
We have already flown over several countries and are now flying over India where about 1.5 billion people live. There will be a few more countries on our way. But if you measure our entire journey, it's a little more than the length of Russia from west to east.
He is reminded of the story of Slava Kurilov, an oceanographer and writer who did the nearly impossible to escape the Soviet Union. He jumped into the ocean from the stern of a huge tourist liner.
He wrote an amazing book, Alone in the Ocean, about a giant mass of water and a lone human being who turned his escape into victory.
After a long flight, we finally landed in Manila. Welcome to the Philippines!
The airport greeted us with a beautiful bright picture on the wall.
We made our way to baggage claim and waited for our suitcases.
We went through immigration and went outside to find my family.
I introduced Boria and mom to mymother, my sisters, and my nephew Dionn. They were a little shy with my husband and mother in law, but glad we were finally here.
We got into a rented car and set off on our journey from Manila to Pangasinan province. The drive would take about six hours, so we decided to stop somewhere and get something to eat.
I wanted us to eat at Jollibee.
I said that the best way to start our lives in the Philippines was to eat at this famous Filipino fast food restaurant.
I told Boria that Jollibee is the number one fast food restaurant chain in the Philippines.
After our first meal in the Philippines, we continued our journey.
At dawn we drove up to my village, Barangay Pangascasan. At last we could admire the surroundings. I explain to my husband some of the interesting places we pass by. We're glad we made it safely.

Congratulations on your relocation to the Philippines!
I’m a 57 year-old US Navy veteran. I was brought to tears and happiness for Boris and his mother and yourself getting out of Russia. What an incredible story. I hope all the best for you in the Philippines, and I hope Boris and his mother get a chance to travel the world. For now see and do and enjoy everything about the new found freedom that they have endured.
tell Boris that he will get used to the heat just give it a chance along with his mother they haven’t made in the Shade!!!
Someday, when I come to the Philippines, I would love to meet you guys!!!
I’m going to retire from my job in a little over two years. I’m planning on coming to the Philippines for several months, including a trip to Thailand, and may be Vietnam. I’m still shedding tears of happiness for you and your family getting away from Russia I’m a new subscriber to your channel. Looking forward to checking out more of your videos. I can almost feel the sadness of your husband and mother-in-law living in their motherland to go to an unknown foreign county, Phil.. What a special journey. Watching all the way from South Africa. I'm in the service and have been on a few front lines and very familiar with the ordeal of the plight of Russian families to embark a new life of freedom. I am so happy to see safe and peaceful journey for your family to the Philippines. I'm sure anywhere outside Russia is grand. I was in tears watching this video and felt proud for you all when you touched down Manila. I feel the love you have for each other.... 22:34 husband to wife "be careful baby." What a lovely family. I wish you all the very best. I as well am looking forward to retiring in the Philippines. I was born there but grew up in the US. There is no place like home. Congratulations on your new land/home. I'm so glad you were able to capture your journey. God bless you all....

What a long and tiring journey. I'm glad that you all made it to the Philippines alright. I keep thinking about Boris's mom. She's a very strong lady. I can imagine this must have been very difficult for her. Leaving her country and everything she knows to start another life far away in another country with a different language. But a mother's love is stronger than anything. She probably thought that if she didn't go she wouldn't be able to see her son again. She knows that her home is with her son and now you also. I wish the three of you the very best.

@@islandlifebd Hi Darlene and Boris - you dont need to be perfect if it is a personal vlog. Thats why it is best to present a live vlog talking with each other for anything (not a documentary or history-like presentation. with your style presented you took more hours because of the titling or captioning. If talking live - theres no need to caption which will take a shorter time to edit videos). I hope you will follow my suggestion in reply to another comment just few minutes ago. You should post very often in a shorter video. Also please follow the video format presentation on the vlog of INDAY GARNET of Netherlands. I started following her with 300 subscribers and now she has about 420,000 subscribers. The technique when talking of a thing or matter which you dont know is like this (if video is live not documentary): "ok guys since I dont really now the name of this fish or I dont know how to cook this, or which way is the best, I will suggest you (viewers) to put down your comments below. In this way, you are interacting viewers, so the more you will earn views and comments, which UA-cam is advising so more ADS is given or preferred to be rolled in your video. Hope this helps

I was teary when you guys landed in Manila Airport. Thank God you all landed safely and reached your province safely. Your husband and his mum seems good people. I hope you look after them and make them feel welcome. Language barrier will always be the hindrance of getting to know each other. It’s good that you brought your mother in law along so your husband will not feel isolated. When I came to Sydney Australia 40 years ago I had the culture shock. I didn’t have any family nor relatives. I only have my cousin’s sister in law. She introduced me to a lot of Filipinos and they became my family. Without them I would have gone back to Manila. Sydney was a very quiet place, I can’t even see 1 person walking on the street. Australia’s population back in 1983 was 15.5 million and Australia is a very vast country. 40 years later it’s still only 26 million. Australian immigration is very strict they scrutinise every migrant that come in to the country. Unless you’re a skilled worker, registered nurse, doctors, engineers, lawyers etc. the only time the unskilled person is accepted is if you’re a spouse. You probably felt the same when you migrated to Russia so perhaps you can understand what they’re experiencing right now. I really hope that Pangasinan will be your husband’s future home. May God guide you all 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️

I cannot imagine the emotions you guys must have felt. Moving from one culture to another…this is a major life change and I will pray that you succeed. When we moved our family from Virginia to Australia, we thought it would be easy especially for our kids because it’s an English speaking country. Locals are so friendly and laid back but it took us months or probably a year to feel comfortable. We are back in the US now but no regrets. Wish you success. We are actually dreaming of your life right now, tropical Island paradise.

This is what I love in Sydney Australia. A bit layback but technology is one of the best in the world. Australia is full of rich and down to earth people. I saw it cause I worked in finance and banking industry. Some people don’t even know how much their savings are. Some are whooping millions. I migrated here from Philippines 40 years ago but never want to leave this country. I still visits Manila twice a year until Covid strikes. I have visited USA for 6 weeks but never went back. I didn’t enjoy it, traffic is also bad. Lots of beggars on the street. When I arrived in Sydney I had a culture shocked. Streets were empty I felt I was alone. I used to see lots of people on the streets in Manila and family and relatives around me. Shops shut early. Now I get used to it. I don’t even like big crowds and too many people around me. I don’t like the heat. I don’t like traffic. If it’s very hot on summertime I just put the air conditioner on so really I seldom felt the heat.

@@0308regina I really miss the laid back atmosphere there, the benefits are the best. I worked for the state. We visit the land down under but we stopped when Covid started. 2019 was our last. So sorry you did not enjoy your visit here, you must have visited parts of California, or parts of NY, Chicago or DC, I assure you it’s not the whole US. We are comfortable where we are and none of the homelessness and traffic. School is a priority for us so I made sure we live in blue ribbon school area. Taxes are high but worth it. Cheers!

      @0308regina Рік тому

@@cynthiaraymundo6983 you’re absolutely right. We went to LA, SF, Chicago, Florida, Las Vegas, NJ, NY. It was a thanksgiving month and we watched the parade in NYC but my gosh there were stinking odour coming from the manhole. I couldn’t believe I was seeing and smelling it in the heart of NYC. I was disappointed but we have to make the most of our holiday. Seeing my high school bff and my relatives and friends makes my travel to US worthwhile. Anyway Australia changed so much. Sydney was invaded by Lebanese and Chinese Developers. They built a lot of Units/Apartments using cheap not good quality materials. There were few buildings that had big crack on the walls that made a massive court proceeding case. I don’t really trust these mobs. Yes I understand they have to make some profits but the safety of the owners and renters must me their paramount goal but unfortunately it’s not the case. 40 years ago houses were on $40K to $45K with the land above 500 Sqm We bought our house for $120K with 800 Sqm. Now houses ranges from $800K to $5M depending which suburb you live in. Where I live very near the Sydney airport. Units ranges from $600K To $1.5M from 1-3 bedrooms. Houses ranges from $1M to 5M. This makes the young ones unable to buy their home for this stupid prices due to these developers. Sad.
