Basically saying that his voice makes them happy, and as long as they can hear his voice, they will be happy, even if the only way they get to hear is voice is through insults. This comment was essentially intended as a compliment to Matt's great voice.

I love everything about this -Matt’s charisma, everyone’s facial expressions, the harmonies and musical switchups, the editing/video design. It’s so satisfying how the editing lines up not only with the music but where Matt is looking, etc. It’s basically just “red and green boxes” but it’s so well choreographed 🥰

Does Avi have an amazingly talented and unique gift that we all miss? Yes. Is Matt a fantastic addition to the group? Also yes. He is also incredibly talented, they are just different!
I’ve said that people need to realize they have 2 distinct separate voices. I, like you, get tired of constant remarks about Avi. Give Matt a break people. I loved this video. I’m 73 years old. I know good music when I hear it. PTX is incredible.

why is nobody talking about matt’s range? yes he’s having the time of his life but he is singing the hell out of those higher notes!!
Speaking out of a baritone/bass range, close to Matt or Avi, those notes are actually more expected then impressive. They're hard to do right, but they're definitely part of the range he should. I do think he did this exceedingly well though
Even since he joined PTX, I hear his range growing more and more. All of them have extended their ranges over time, and I swear they’re keeping getting better and better!

Why is Matt not the main vocal anymore after this video? I love his voice. You guy can cover most of Disney's song with his voice.
Because he joined the band to be the bass, he understands how important the bass part is to acapella arrangements and seems to enjoy his usual role too. But he often gets lead lines and sections in some of their newer stuff because he is so good. They seem to be sharing the load more lately and they all just get better and better.

Matt is fantastic in this one. He shows his true bass, but also hits higher baritone notes and goes back and forth seemlessly. I also really am impressed with his enunciation as well as his expressivness.

@@joshsutherland5475 to be honest they aren't really bass notes. I don't think he goes any lower than about a G2 which is technically baritone. People compare matt and avi because Avi is a basso profundo, the classical term for an extremely deep projected and strong voice. Whereass Matt is a baritone really, based on the fact that his lower range, while it still goes pretty low, is more breathy and not as loud or confident. They're two different voices so it's kind of like comparing a huge ford raptor to a toyota mx-5. Both cars, both really fun and great cars, but in different aspects.

I LOVE this! Matt singing was a perfect choice. I dig the different drum arrangements for each verse. Scott on bass is fire. Mitch’s “ugh” is the best. Kirsty pitching in with lovely vocals and beautiful harmonies is just to die for. I cnt stop listening to this song.

People really need to stop comparing Matt with Avi. They both have different talent. Pentatonix was not trying to replace Avi, they took Matt to complete the group. That's the whole point of making a singing group.
It's very annoying and tiring at this point! I just hope the group didn't read those comments these last 3 years. If I was them reading stuff like that, I would be disappointed in my fans.

Fair warning- controversial opinion is coming :)
I was catching up with Pentatonix music and live show videos recently and... I prefer Matt over Avi as a member of the band. I absolutely love Avi and I truly admire his talent, but watching his recent work I had a feeling, that as a solo artist he was really able to reach his full potential, as it was just meant to be this way...Matt has an amazing energy and chemistry with the rest of the group, especially with Kevin- they do really crazy stuff together in the background to set the whole tone of songs. I also love these silky-smooth tones in his voice and the way his voice blends with Mitch's, when they sing together. I think Matt replacing Avi was a win-win situation for both- Pentatonix and Avi.
Totally agree!!! Matt has helped to bring the group to the next level with his natural talent and charisma. He’s also a team player who actually wants to be there! Him joining PTX was the best thing for everyone!

They bounced around a lot. I'm glad they focused on Matt but I would have liked to have seen them stay on the other a bit longer. We barely saw Scott or maybe it just felt that way b/c he didn't have any noticeable vocals since he was covering the bass.
