catalina was my first intro to the mac, the mac I am using now shipped wwith catalina, it taught me so much about the macOS ecosystem so much that I long to go back on there when ever ventura gives me issues, in short, I loved catalina
Catalina was the first MacOS I used and the lack of 32 But app support is my only big problem. Yeah the lack of iTunes is sad for a few things that it can do that are not on Mac OS but Reactivator lets me side-load it so I can still use it. The constant prompts to allow programs to have access to the Mac while annoying I am SO happy it exists and would hate to see it go away. In my opinion, it is a necessary evil, I will happily have the feature for the peace of mind of knowing my Mac is safer. Overall I give Catalina a 9/10 and to this day I still am happy to use it. (My Mac can't go any newer.)
hey seems like we both own a mi 2012 mac. Have you found a way to play some games ?i d like to play some modest performance games like Binding of Isaacs
This is why I still use Mojave. Catalina has too few benefits to justify upgrading. Also, initially, this was a middle finger to Steam users on macos because Steam is a 32-bit application.
after I'm upgrading to Catalina, its the most sufficient macOS and could drive my Mac into a new level since it is a 64-bit of systems than my previous 32-bit..after this maybe the last Catalina users ever.
i use mac os catalina and im not updating to ventura yet, only problem with my experience on catalina was only if some app did not support this version of os. to this day im considering to switch to ventura but catalina was a great expirience for me.
catalina was the last straw... I was using Mojave, because of the dark mode, but I was already using windows 10. When I heard they killed 32 bit apps I was like nooo helll no! you are joking?! :\ I gave apple and finger and left. it's been 8 years
Linux… they are everywhere.. I game on my pc, so can’t use linux, and I don’t want to use command sudo this and mount that… I just want to game and watch yt videos… and a bit pron ,maybe… 😂
My Astrology Software that I've been using for 20 years did not update to 64 bit and so they went out of business. I bought a new computer and will never update past Mojave.
Biggest life wasting piece of junk OS of all time. I will never forgive that garbage company for charging me $ for that piece of junk. Apple turned me into their lifelong enemy. I went from fan to lifetime hater.
I found the things mentioned helpful and innovative. I've been using Catalina since 2020 and found it a massive improvement compared to El Capitan that I used till then. Catalina aged like wine, even now out of support is still the most stable Mac OS X version I've ever used ... Chrome and Firefox still fully support macOS 10.15 in 2023 ...
MASSIVE improvement? What does that even mean? in what tangible way? I dont mean updates to apples apps, thats not the OS itself. im still debating goign to catalina for adobe compatibility, however ill definitely lose my beloved, bulletproof cs6 apps.
I used macOS Catalina when I was 6 years old and I was not a tech person at that time, but when I broke the MacBook Pro by stepping on it (I was 7 years old when I stepped on it), Apple sent a replacement Mac running macOS Mojave. I am still in macOS Mojave because of storage and because I love Mac’s in their original versions.

0:44 Not to be nit-picky but the J in Mojave is pronounced like an H. You say it as "Mo-ha-vay". Kinda like the H sound the word Jalapeño.
You're not being nit-picky. I don't trust someone who can't even pronounce basic terms. Catalina terrible? Why? He hasn't said anything substantive.
mojave - check the pronunciation on that one…
Mo-ha-ve, the j in Mojave is pronounced as a H
Is dark mode better for battery life?

So you chose worse system. Why not use Linux then?
