Infinite Pirates is probably the highest risk/reward comp. You need two specific tribes to pull it off and hit five+ different cards. When it works, you can compete with 3k+ stats. When you are just one card off, you go eighth. Idk if having such swingy comp is healthy for the game, but at the very least it's not oppressive, and every win with it feels deserved.
Dog's no stranger to this. He beat an Exodia Mage as a Warrior. I think he gained hundreds of armor in one turn and the Mage ropped out in their Waygate turn.
He does it all the time and then gives the excuse that he plays off of patterns and therefore, since whitemane/tech cards aren't in his patterns he can't ever see them. Infuriating
@andrwarrior I realized immediately what he meant because there's only one 5-drop lady that could've helped in his position. So I absolutely screamed at my screen when I saw him rolling past her.
It is an odd thing I have noticed from many top players. They already have more money than they can ever spend in a turn, but they just keep clicking accordotron. I don't really get it tbh. Guess it makes for better UA-cam content
I also do that (in other games) to not roll on the thing I am looking for. Being 40% faster doesn't help you if you then roll over the thing you spent 60 seconds on to find. It is ironic to say that, given what happened in the video, but I'd say being distracted by talking is a valid reason that an average player would not encounter
Wait… you attach the golden mech demon to a non golden so the beat boxers get the goldens big stats and because you magnetized the golden medhdemon onto a non golden you get repeat that again and again and keep stacking all the stats and mecha magnetized to it??? Until he finally did it I was so confused why he wouldn’t just magnetize onto the mecha jaraxes wow. That is actually such a cool interaction
I think it was semi-viable when beatboxer was introduced but the minion pool is so big now that trying to find particular minions in the shop is too hard.
@@masonskiekonto590 to be fair, you don't even need a lot of money, you just need a beatboxer. Every single gold magnet is +2 gold at that point, especially with the usual focus on Brann that can easily be a +4/+6 with the battlecry mech that lets you choose. And once you start having a bit more gold, it becomes quite likely that you'll find a second beatboxer (I'd say this is the most common case). If you try to force it it's as horrible as most other comps, but if you end up on a random beatboxer early on you can go for it and your gold ramps up insanely fast
There have been for a while, but they can only be accessed via special means. Thorim's hero power and buddy both can, and currently the Pagle Fishing Rod can. There is a retired anomoly causing tier 7 to be possible in the shop, it may return some day.
I just realized how much i was underestimating that pirates comp, even tho i won some tough games with it, my best was N'Zoth with golden fish and double golden fish as trinkets (yeah pretty toxic) , each minion had 151 attack, but not even close to this many minions i think.
As the other guy said, but to add a bit, you need dragons so you can persistent poet an amalgam unit to get many copies of the deathrattle. Without it, the comp easily loses to high stats. It's good tempo, but without the exodia with dragons you get out scaled very fast.
The comp is about magnetizing big mechs onto magnetic minions to copy them with beatboxer, and then goldening the magnetic minion in question, so that it goes back to the hand and you can magnetize it again. This is how he can magnetize a bigger and bigger mech every turn. If you magnetize onto a golden minion, you cannot golden it later, and thus cannot return it to your hand, and thus the chain is broken.
Love seeing a perfect example of a card/comp that needs to be removed immediately. Cards like Leaper and Pogo were removed for much less obnoxious outcomes and this pirate stupidity is still in game somehow? No comp with multiple 1K+ attack/health minions should ever come close to losing to scam bs like that. Remove the pirate that gives the deathrattle or stop letting baron be additive. None of the others are additive like that, two golden battlecry/EOT does not work so why does baron work that way? Prevent pirates and dragons from being in the same lobby. So many ways to stop the stupid comp and it's still in so late in the season.
You’re making it sound like this is some huge issue and this comp is dominating the meta. Even when both dragons and pirates are in the comp still takes a lot to get going, and in that time you’re very likely to die to someone with decent tempo board. There’s way more oppressive comps in the game than this pirate build
I would not call that comp "scam". For me, scam is getting units that can trade favorably without stacking them throughout the game. It relies upon the notion that stacking stats is fair, and that the person who stacked the most stats should win. Venomous is scamming, leeroy is scamming. You mention leapers, they can be seen as scamming, since you only need to have the right cards on the board, you could theoretically transition into it very late. The pirate/dragon combo is actually stacking deathrattles instead of stats directly, but it is closer to a fair build than to scam.
If I understand correctly trinket works only on standard rolls and not in situations like that. Staff forces the tavern to show minions of the particular tribe, not refreshes it. Same with Discovering particular tribes via Tavern spell. You can get Tier 1/2 minions that way.
That final fight being so close given the stats on your board is INSANE

magnet stacking existed in the game since beatboxer dropped, it's just not viable unless you have a lot of money or magnet generation

You need dragons in the game for this: you stack the combat deathrattle buff on a Motley Phalanx by making it permanent with a Persistent Poet.
