@@stuff1784 Exactly. In the US, the mother has to be proven horribly unfit in order for the father to get custody of the children.....and even then many times the mother still gets custody.

Nasty daughter. The last loan JJ wasn't entertaining because mum knew her daughter was nasty and wasn't going to pay, so no expectation of payment. Never lend anyone twice if they didn't pay the first one and have it in writing

Her ex husband has primary custody of three of her children. So, technically, she is the one who should be paying child support. Blood or no blood I would take my family to court if they owed me money. Her daughter is a dead beat mom.

I feel for the plaintiff but you have to have an expectation of re-payment. If you're still waiting on one loan, don't make another loan - and you can't use the "she's my child" defence to that (part 1) when you're treating them in a 'business manner' (loans) rather than in a 'family manner' (gifts).
Hope they've healed their relationship.

I'm single, in my early 20s, and up until recently lived with my parents. We used to be in a good financial situation, but unfortunately some stuff happened over the last few years... There were many months that I gave them my whole paycheck. They also helped me financially whenever I wanted or needed it, and we never kept count- well my father did. He wanted to pay me back because he felt guilty about me giving everything to him but I didn't accept. They made bigger sacrifices for me so I kinda took it as my responsibility. Not only i wanted to help, but I was also living with them in one house so I thought that i should also contribute something. In the end, they still spent more on me than I could give them.
I just cant imagine being like the defandant... pay your poor mom back! The mom helped her when she needed, but when their places switch she doesn't even pay back her mom- let alone helping!

It broke my heart when the mother cried and begged for ten dollars from her ungrateful daughter. Even her laughter tried to cover her pain. Thank God her son is good and not like his sister.

@groowanderer its not that women don't know how support cases work, its because the defendant went in a roundabout way of explaining her situation rather than flat out say her oldest 3 children live with their father she said 'I never felt like I had to file for child support because he sees the kids as often as I do' when yeah, she should be the one paying support as it turns out she only sees them alternate weekends. She obviously didn't want to divulge that she's been proven to be an incompetent mother
This is why our culture praised and rewarded those who got married and stayed married - to encourage morality. The immoral tend to have other character issues like lying, stealing, a sense of self-entitlement or playing the victim. And children who are raised with both parents - in the SAME home - grow up with a far better view of the world and themselves.
