I can’t thank you enough sir. I followed every step on your video and I was able to replace my key fob. None of the buttons were functional anymore snd now I have a brand new one for just $9 dollars and 5 minutes of pure creativeness. I am so happy. You’re awesome!
Thanks Ron! I have been months without a fob because no one wanted less then $400 my sister told me to buy one off Amazon and I followed your video and now I have a working fob for under $10 THANK YOU!
Like someone else said, you do not need to cut the tabs. I'm not even sure how he did that, the plastic is very hard and the tabs are not little as they look. Some carefully placed pressure and you can just pop out the circuit board. But you have to wind the spring counter-clockwise which is a step not shown here. My replacement case seems to be just too small for my original key and there's too much resistance for the key to pop open. Oh well.
I failed to open the fob beyond the battery cover, I even caused some damage to the body. Be careful and consider the other method of you want to only replace the keys. The other method does not involve opening the fob, it has its cons, you can find it on UA-cam as well.
Gotta love how this guy made it look so easy to pry it apart with a screwdriver. I accidentally tore the plastic case a little bit and ended up ripping one of the buttons open on the new replacement.
Hi Ron, thanks for the video. I did the same thing but the remote doesn't work (opening and locking doors). Is there another step after swapping the component? Is there any programming of the circuit board? Thanks.
Hi I have to replace the cover from my hyunday sonata 2017 . The bottoms are in bad condition there are different ones on Amazon how will I know what’s the right one for my replacement. ?
I really wish he would just cut straight to the reason why we are here and nothing else he goes on and on talking and when it comes to important stuff like how he cut the tabs he pauses the video and when he returns the camera isnt even pointed to where he working. You would think he would atleast check the camera to see what he is recording.
Massive pain in the ass. Had to take a dreamed tool to get it open. Then to close it while keeping the key in place and the metal backing - it was just more difficult then this UA-cam video was suggest. Still, cost me $7 for a new fob.

You can’t see a lot in your video. Can’t see from th beginning to the end your out of the camera.
And that's what I was looking for. You're the best!

Thank you very much video helped a lot 10 out of 10
You missed loading the spring so it would open when you hit the button. That part is tricky
Yes, how do I do that?
Reshoot the video so everything is under the camera
Thank you!!! I said the same thing!!!
Thanks Rob!

I was quoted $550 from a dealership for a new key and programming!
Helpful ..
You can spin the key to load the spring so that it will open like normal.
What do you mean?
Thanks for the video, It would have been better if you showed how you opened the original key.
key spring needs to be wound counter-clockwise to get the key to pop out; otherwise good explanation.
Thanks a lot for the comment and the extra info !
Most of the action is off camera. I am sure you know what you were doing. Can you show us too?
Thank you
You do not need to cut the tabs. The board just pops out.
You forgot to rotate the spring on the key part so when u click the button it pops open the key
Would have been a good video had he fixed the key ON CAMERA and not above it!
Yeah he was wanted to get the info out there but the next video will be set up perfectly
@@tsrreviews6502 what? That makes no sense. Why not do it right the first time
Need to tilt camera little toward you .. can't see much of video 😅

He used a small knife or a razor
He used a razor blade
I only see the motherboard, no chip
Camera needs to be on the key housing and key. Would hav been an outstanding video if it was kuldip have been.
Please show this again. Your hands were not in the video. I couldn’t see all that you did.
Can’t see your hands as you work
@@NowWeEats Potato or no, the framing was off. If you can’t see how it’s done, what’s the point?
I can't see nothing
Nobody can't record for you because I need help and you were out of the camera for the most part
Can’t see half the video. Your working off camera
Sanoter huh 😑
