Heeey.... hate to break it to you all but thats the "im a defensless and nonthreatening baby" position. It ensures the big cat knows that kitten doesnt mean any trouble and isnt wanting a fight. Cats (and dogs, coincidently) show their belly as a sign of vulnerability and submission.

EXACTLY, I have 5 kittens here and when the older cat comes to one of the kittens when the mother is not present this is exactly, what they do! Because they are very scared! Its eyes darkened, ears back, stiff body, hair standing up! Fear!

It happens a lot, while it’s not ideal cats when panicked and on the defense can end up on their back, esp if they’ve been nudged (which probably happened before the clip started, the bigger cat likely easily moved the small lady) typically when they’re extra little. They’re so panicked they just freeze up like that watching with big eyes until the potential threat leaves. It’s happened so many times when I’ve gone to get feral kittens, they’re trying to move back away from me and get toppled over so they freeze up like that with their paws and claws out on the defense
