One question. Mine is Nexstar 130T skyprodigy. The handcontroller have RJ port. Can you let me know what cable i need to order for updating the firmware.
When you say press and hold the two lower left hand keys and power up the mount are you referring to the two side by side buttons or the lower left button and the button above it please?
I am not near my telescope right now, but from memory it was the celestron button and number 7.
I updated Celestron Nextar 6se and the firmware was damaged, but the remote control can be switched to boot mode, but the PC says that there is no connection with the telescope, what is the reason and how to solve it? If I buy a new remote control and connect it, will the mount work?
Sorry I have not had this issue, so can't comment on a fix.
Contact Celestron support, they may be able to advise you.

thanks for the video , so the new version use usb ? and the older the rj11? it s that correct ?
That is correct. In reality the new version is still using RJ11 but has the USB adapter built in.
I got mine to finally open the CFM folder, it searched & found my telescope & supposedly downloaded/updated everything but when i turn it on i get an error!🤨 WHY cant they use some of that $ they are making on these things & make updates a lil easier for folks who are not that computer savvy.😕 ANY tips would be greatly appreciated (gonna try to get help from Celestron but doubt they will help since my warranty just expired).😩
What is the error you are getting?
I have not updated my firmware since I made this video, but will have a look next time I get some free time.
@@SpectrumGeeks The error message is: "Invalid Package: 0040". Have you seen this before? My telescope was purchased in 2020 and had to be stored in a climate controlled storage building until approx a month ago. When I finally was able to move it into our new house the handheld device was going berserk (ineligible letters scrolling across). I've been trying to figure out how to update it & found your video (was a huge help since the instructions on Celestron site might as well been written in clingon lol). What's crazy to me is while searching for answers I saw (on different platforms) that a LOT of ppl seem to be having an issue updating the firmware. As expensive as these things are you think they'd use some of that $ to update the platform/make it easier to update their products. I'm not a computer wiz so maybe that's the issue lol. Thanks for ANY tips/advise & I appreciate your time & help!😊
@@lilmama4426 I agree that Celestron have not moved with the times, so its not super easy to keep your astro gear upto date.
Based on your error, I assume one of the many packages that gets updates is corrupt or not loading properly.
I would try a reset and / or update again. To reset press and hold down 0 and then turn on the telescope, this should reset the handset to default settings.
If this doesn't fix the issue, then I would do an update again to refresh all the packages.
