One of the most professional, informative and beautiful documentaries I've ever seen on the largemouth bass, anywhere, let alone on UA-cam. This is what quality content looks like, folks. Just amazing. Thanks!
Hi, Tom. Thanks! It's the kind of content I always wanted to see. Sometimes you just gotta do stuff yourself. :) So happy it's being appreciated. Cheers, Paul
I don’t see how you had time for anything else. Wow, what an amazing video. There are billion dollar networks that can’t put out that level of quality. Simply outstanding sir!
Hi, Ed. Thanks. I made time for lots of things, mostly involving my family. But, this doc pretty much ate up all my TNF time. Now that it's out, I'm back to more regular material I want to cover, and I'm actually fishing! Had to shake off some rust though. Odd how that is. Thanks, again. Paul
It’s such a shame that one can put so much effort into creating a video for knowledge and entertainment and do such an incredible job, and have so few views. Your hard work is much appreciated.
Amazing video footage with your commentary. I forgot I was even watching UA-cam as this felt more like a National Geographic episode. Well done Sir. Very informative. I’ll be sharing this with friends.
Hi, CCG. Thanks! Gee. :) I'm such a nerd that I can get pretty deep. I have to decide where the scientific jargon should leave off and the plain english begin. My wife is esp helpful here. She's an elementary school teacher, trained in language acquisition, and has taught overseas, so she knows how to communicate across a lot of barriers. Can’t say she, or I, are completely satisfied with my “voice” here. Still finding my way there, I think. My son has no problem with the jargon, but is suggesting I steer more toward the nature side of things, and less into the fishing. I’m shooting for both audiences. I think through angling is the right approach, bc we directly interact with nature (participating in the food chain). We are in position to understand things on a deeper level, and bring more interesting questions. So, if I have a goal, it’s to bridge the sciences with the angling, and inject a bit more nature into fishing. Thanks for your comment. And yes, please do share. Cheers, Paul
Hiya, Stan. Glad you found it useful. That's the idea. I'm hoping this info will stand, and can be built from. And thanks; You've been a patient man. :) Cheers, Paul
This series is absolutely bulletproof, man. The spawn was 100/100, this one is 100/100. I can’t imagine how much work this takes and I will absolutely be contributing to the patreon. It feels wrong not to, honestly...
I was out with my buddy and the dinghy yesterday. Good bass and pickerel all day. But sir, i have witnessed a pike taking out ducks for the first time. It was unreal. You are the only person i was excited to tell.
Hey Johnny. Whoa! How cool is that! I've never seen that. I did have some pretty awesome surface strikes while frogging for bass for the next VFJ. Always amazes me how much water they throw. You'd think each one was a 10lber. A pike big enough to eat ducklings must make quite an explosion.
This channel has the BEST, most pertinent, most interesting, & most entertaining information on the ecology, evolution queues, & biological data on fishing that I have ever encountered. My wife even watches this with me & she’s a biology major that wanted to be a marine biologist!!! 😂
That eq mp. Love your handle btw. And thanks. Nice to hear your wife enjoyed it too. Not everyone can sit through a documentary, esp one that starts off with so much jargon. Had to set the stage though. Best, Paul
I hope you get the recognition and also compensation that you deserve for your content sir. He backs up his info with serious data and experience that is by itself.
WOW! This is a National Geographic level documentary into freshwater habitats, and the mind of the Largemouth Bass. Really gives us a whole new respect for our favorite animal. I suddenly feel the obligation to pinch off my barbed hooks... Thank you for making this.
Hi, Kevin. Thanks. Glad you liked it. Hope it helps in your fishing. Or, at very least, makes it that much more interesting. I do go barbless for certain techniques -soft plastics mostly- and have gone barbless with treble-hooked lures too, with success. However, the modern micro-barbed hooks out there now, and careful unhooking, can really minimize damage, and keep those crazy jumpers pinned. If you haven't already been around the channel, The Nature of Fishing (TNF) has four playlists: -Documentaries that give us a better understanding of the fishes themselves, currently focused on LMB; -Fundamentals that provides important background information, in depth. Info that comes up in our Video Fishing Journals (VFJ’s). -Fishing Tackle Know-How, where we take an in-depth look at the tools of the trade, taking the fish’s perspective into consideration; -Video Fishing Journals (VFJ’s), where we hit the water together and decipher the system, and the conditions & circumstances, in front of us. And to put our knowledge and decisions to the test. TNF is meant to serve as an archive that can be referred back to every year, like any good fishing journal. Things really do cycle around again every year, and each outing adds some new wrinkles. And, the more we learn, the more we can get out of re-visiting in-depth content. Hey, Bulldog. Thanks! I can't wait for the next one either. But right now I need to get some fishing in! And get back to some more regular programming.
Absolutely wonderful! Tom Hunt hit the nail on the head. Paul is very thorough. Carefully studied presents his material in a truly scientific manner. Excellent underwater footage. I saw Paul’s first documentary release and begged for more. He told me about this one and I ate it up immediately. Thank you again sir. As soon as I’m able, I will be clicking your Patreon link. Looking forward to the next section. Let’s go fishing some time, Paul!
Thanks, Philipp. Glad these types of "fishing vids" are right up your alley. If you haven't already, check out my playlists. They all take things from the fish's perspective. Thanks again, Paul.
Absolutely amazing underwater photography and the information and in-depth detail you go into just blows me away this is definitely one of my top channels now and I agree you should be on TV with your information keep up the amazing work thank you once again.
Hi, Erin. Glad you liked it. Lotsa work to produce this kind of content. Esp when I have other responsibilities. Killing me that I cannot get to my channel as much as is required to cover what I want to cover, and grow as a channel. Not sure YT is the best venue for me. Remains to be seen. All the best, Paul
Who needs 40 years of fishing experience when you can consume it in such quality content , thank you for making me Into a better angler . Now I have 43 years of fishing experience 😅😂 this being my third summer fishing , ever !
Hi, blicky. Thanks. In fishing, 40yrs goes by quickly. I could never be on the water every minute. Next best thing is the science that's been applied. Put both together and... we've got... a good glimpse. :) Best, Paul
Hi, Ed. Thanks! It's a complex subject, and with my penchant for running multiple thought tracks at once, it was a challenge to present. It follows the physical growth stages, but also the behavioral development that comes with it. To show these behaviors, I had to jump around between the stages, which I hoped would not be too confusing. But it's done, and I can actually go fishing now! :))) Cheers, Paul
Truly great to watch this! So frustrating to be a science based thinker in the bass fishing world. As a person raised scientist, and a freshwater ichthyology nerd/large mouth angler, I’ve been waiting for your fallow to the spawn video. I’ll be sharing this!
Once again. Amazing job. You have a talent for film making. I thought a good “fade to black” moment was when the bass kicked up a cloud of dust. The video was was well organized and timed. No wasted seconds. Bass learning from each other, we’ve always said that if you catch a fish others will see it then avoid your lure, knowing what just happened to their friend. The struggle hormone releasing? I’m not sure.
Only fishin show I ever got decent scientific info from was In-Fisherman back in the day. The is on a whole nother level. The is the best collection of video ANYWHWERE and on any platform or network. Can't thank you enough.
Hi, Derrick. Awesome! Welcome aboard. My channel has three playlists: Documentaries, Tackle Know-How, and Video Fishing Journals. I'm in process of adding a fourth, probably to be called Fundamentals, or something along those lines for background that supports fishing concepts that come up in our fishing journals. Share with like-minded friends! Cheers, Paul
Sir, this is an award winning production containing massive amounts of pertinent information!! Thank you very much & best wishes to you in all your endeavors
Hi NTF! I’ve watched quite a number of documentaries on bass’ life cycle, even as good as the old school video’s. Having said that I have to say, this video is extremely informative and I for one will be watching it repeatedly to digest all the information. Thank you for such a great “labour of love” production about a fish species I for one am a fan and passionate defender of. This production even should be used in Universities. Well done!!!
This is an awesome video even if you dont like fishing. My wife is a science teacher and she said this was something she would refer to and use to teach in her classroom. Great video friend!
Hi, SR. Thanks. Great to hear. My wife is an elementary teacher, with a strong science perspective. Sometimes I come in to her classroom to share and teach. Fun... but, my, teachers work hard. Thanks again, Paul
Great job Paul! Just finished watching, thanks for your countless hours of work. I just got my new PB on Tuesday, our state record here in South Dakota is 9lb 3oz and I got a 7lbs bass on a frog on a new lake that I have never fished! I am trying to get the honey do list done today so I can go back tomorrow!! Thanks again Paul for your work.
Hi, Paul. Thanks! And... CONGRATS on your PB. That... is a BIG northern bass. There aren't a lot of those out there. I'm predicting, as climate shifts, that PB's and state records will begin to fall in the coming years. Fisheries folks have already been documenting the northern shifts on species ranges, and growth rates. And... man do I hear you on the "honey-do's"! My "honey's" are my wife, son, home, and work. Here's to hoping I can give this TNF channel the time it desperately needs. Now that this doc is out the door, it's time I got some fishing in. But, first... I've got to finish up on the storage unit, and some field work that needs attention. Cheers, Paul.
this kind of content is extremely important to me. this information can really help to increase the understanding of how to responsibly harvest from our environment and keep our fisheries healthy indefinitely. you should be sponsored by national geographic or something.
Wow, this took an incredible amount of time to put together. You had to shoot and then review so much footage to find clips and the music to go with it. This kind of work doesn’t happen unless you have a crazy passion for it. I have learned so much from watching your work. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and creativity, I can’t wait to watch more.
Hi, Jeff. Yes... you've pretty much described the process. That crazy passion is for how nature works. The video production is just the vehicle. Years ago, while being interviewed for a research position I was asked why I wanted to do science. My response was, unrehearsed, "Because I want to see the face of God." "You're hired!!" :)) Cheers, Paul
Hi, MTXCraze. Thank you. Luckily, I've been simply fascinated by what goes on out there, and down there, fro a very young age. I can literally watch the sun rise and set on a puddle. Hoping to make this channel fly, so I can keep sharing what I do. Cheers, Paul
Hi, BASw. Thanks! I'm looking forward to episode's 2, and 3, as well. The story gets bigger. Not sure yet if I'll combine them. Anyway... Right now, I'm going to get some fishing in. And more filming. Wish me luck. Cheers, Paul
Hey, Troy. Good to hear from you too. Not sure if these documentaries are a fit for a YT channel or not! At least I can now breath a bit, and get back to more regular content. And... get some fishing in. :) :) :)
Hi, FOLKES801. Yes, the documentaries are BIG projects. Love 'em. But... man, am I ready to get some fishing in. :)) Now that it's off my plate, I can spend my time on more regular programming. Good to hear from you. Paul
Hi, Johnny. Good, Hope it'll pan out for you, without breaking the bank. Awesome on the small boat. Although I LOVE fishing from shore, getting away from the confines of the shore will open a world of fishing up to you. On my list of to-do videos -near the top- is one on the advantages of both shore and boat fishing. Dying to get to it, and others. Feel free to share these vids with friends. The more the merrier. And someday I may actually be able to make a serious dent in my video to-do list. Cheers, Paul
Bass are always watching and learning. I had a largemouth in a 75 gallon fish tank in my bed room. I caught him when he was just 4 to 5 inches long, he was just little bit bigger than the beetle spin. Within two months I noticed the bass would mostly hang out in the front right corner of the tank where he could see into the living room. He would just float there watching and waiting for someone to go near the 10 gallon tank in the living room that had feeder fish in it. The moment someone was close to the feeder tank he would race from the top to bottom of the tank, sometimes breaking the top of the water and hitting the lid. When you fed him he would swallow just about all the feeders and hide beneath a plant in the middle of the tank for awhile before eventually returning to the corner to watch what was going on. I will always be amazed at how he knew his food was in the small tank in the living room.
Hey, David. Great observation. I was hoping some aquarium folks would chime in here and there. You are watching a fish anticipate, a potential future event. Yes, fish are "smarter" than most people would suspect. And it challenges us to define what "smart" actually is. It does not need to involve "thinking" exactly (defined by some as requiring language). But, there are wheels turning in there, well aware of what's important. Thanks for sharing that. Paul
If anyone deserves donations and patreon support..... Its this channel! With all due respect to the lure recommendation channels and the "as the reel turns" soap Opera guys, this is all killer no filler. Just the facts. C'mon guys let's show our support!
Hi, 300. We all enjoy, and glean things from, watching other people fish. But... there's more to it. There's a whole world down there. I was always curious, and never stopped asking, "But...why!" :) Best, Paul
Hi, Anthony. I enjoyed making it. A lot of time burned though. I really want to get the third out, the finale on adult hunting and feeding behavior. But the time it takes is daunting. Or, more accurately, I know it'll be some time before I can complete it. I've wanted to get this last one out before I hit certain fishing related topics. That way I can refer people to the doc when I inevitably say, "...depends on conditions & circumstances". Work in progress. Just can't wait to get back to that progress.
Thanks for studying the fish and letting us in on it. Neat videos. But I’m sorry to hear you including the evolutionary theories in your videos. Keep fishing
Hi, John. When describing how living creatures function, and the why behind it, I cannot ignore a perspective that is broadly considered, by scientists, to be the most significant scientific body of work in terms of understanding life. My focus here is in the science, and the fishing, not religion, or politics. Those are different subjects, even methods, altogether.
Hi, LL. Great to hear. Yeah, there's plenty going on down there. Hope my channel will help in your fishing. The channel has four playlists: -Documentaries that give us a better understanding of the fishes themselves, currently focused on LMB; -Fundamentals that provides important background information, in depth. Hey, BN. Thanks. Yeah... these docs are doozies. Love 'em. But... man, am I ready to get some fishing in. :))) (Big smile) And, yes, been planning a Patreon page for some time. Best fit I think for a labor-intensive channel like mine. Cheers, Paul
I have seen both. This production needs to get accolades from across the spectrum of nature series. As a viewer, I would help you find funding for future endeavors. I am an angler but a nature fanatic. You must receive funding for more adventures. The production is amazing. Your dedication is amazing. All anglers would just absorb this! This must go viral among anglers and naturalists. Now.... Do Muskies!
Thanks, Glenn. Muskies! Would love to. I'm thinking trout are next, if I can ever get through bass. I won't live forever! Other fish will also be determined by where we end up re-locating to.
Hi, Black Marten. Great to hear. It's kind of in a genre by itself, a nature documentary buried in a "fishing" site, and.... not quite a fishing video. Cheers, Paul
Hi, Kim. Thanks! Glad you enjoy the content. I can't do it any other way. And, yeah, I like my vintage gear. I don't call it vintage though, that's just my fishing stuff! :)) Cheers, Paul
Hi, Rich. Lol. I’m guessing it’s an automatic reaction to an incoming prey like object. “Reaction strike”, if you will. This can even happen with larger fish, the two getting wedged together.
Yeah, amazing anything survives out there. There's a lot of "wisdom" built into all those critters out there. That statistic is only generalized, only part of the story. Years vary quite a lot in terms of hatch success, from near nil to gangbusters, when many survive. Mortality rates are highest at the early stages and then decline most precipitously after the first winter. Those banner years, when strong year classes are produced, generally carry the fishing for the next 8 years or so. So, as I fish, I check my waters for strong year classes, evidenced by good numbers of a certain size class. I figure... "Ok, this pond is worth watching." I then do the math: Bass in my waters here, and in most throughout the north, grow roughly 1.5"/year, after their second winter. So I'll be slate a given water for... say, 4+ yrs out. Seems like a long time, but... I've already been watching other waters too. Plenty to do out there. :)
@@thenatureoffishing7591 where are you located primarily? I am a Delaware river northeast fisherman. I have fished all over, my favorite fishing by far is the lakes to my north. Squam lake still holds my pb smallie.
I'm in Colorado. Originally from upstate NY. I've fished the Delaware for trout, and the "Susky" for smallies. Stream smallies are the one thing I most here in CO.
Hi, . Thanks. Glad you liked it. Hope it helps in your fishing. Or, at very least, makes it that much more interesting. If you haven't already been around the channel, The Nature of Fishing (TNF) has four playlists: -Documentaries that give us a better understanding of the fishes themselves, currently focused on LMB; -Fundamentals that fleshes out important background information on stuff I don't have time to cover in-depth in our Video Fishing Journals (VFJ’s). -Fishing Tackle Know-How, where we take an in-depth look at the tools of the trade, taking the fish’s perspective into consideration, and that supports our Video Fishing Journals (VFJ’s); -Video Fishing Journals (VFJ’s), where we hit the water together and decipher the system, and the conditions & circumstances, in front of us. Baby Bass exhibit the same behavior of an adult from the egg when it comes to eating. With flake food they swim up and look then slowly swim away. With live baby brine shrimp they will devour them instantly. It only takes a few days for the babies to begin looking like miniature adults but the behavior is there from the beginning. It was in interesting thing to watch.
Hi Pete. It is cool to see. Sounds like you’ve kept some in aquaria. When I first started filming them I had no idea they were as active as they are. They look like a cloud of tiny gray threads in the water. But they are so capable. Fascinating.
Hi, Ernest. Thank you for your interest in supporting TNF. My time is spent producing hard-earned content rather than selling gear. For the record, I am not against sponsorship, but it can't interfere with my true focus. I'm not doing this to "run a YT channel" or "fish all the time". I'm sure that i apparent by now. So, I've currently chosen two ways for people to support my efforts: Patreon is a site that handlers monthly donations. You can choose a monthly support amount, and can put a cap on it, decide when you've given what you wish. The Nature of Fishing Patreon Page: www.patreon.com/The_Nature_of_Fishing For people who do not wish to have a monthly arrangement, I will also be adding a one-time donation button, likely through PayPal. Thanks for asking, Ernest. I appreciate the interest in supporting me very much. Although this type of content has been my passion for a long time, my largest supporters are my family. And... I'm a responsible guy. Just ask my wife! :) As she puts it, "Paul is not always "nice", but he's always "good". Cheers, Paul
Thanks, Fred. Documentaries aren't for everyone, and this one has a pretty dense start. Glad you enjoyed it. Hope it helps your fishing make a bit more sense, or at least makes it that more interesting. Cheers, Paul

I'm in process of adding a fourth, probably to be called Fundamentals, or something along those lines for background that supports fishing concepts that come up in our fishing journals. Share with like-minded friends! Cheers, Paul
Great documentary! I just bought some bass for my pond around 3-4 inches early July. It’s late Aug and they’ve grown 2 inches.
Hi, GSD. Very cool. They do/can grow fast, esp in their first year. Glad you enjoyed the doc, all that info. Best, Paul
This was a great video and i thank you for your efforts on this!
Hi, Albert. Thanks! I'm happy, and relieved, to have it out. I can now get back to more regular content. Cheers, Paul
Sir, this is an award winning production containing massive amounts of pertinent information!! Thank you very much & best wishes to you in all your endeavors
Thanks, Jcole.
Paul all these videos need to be up for awards
Thanks onemore.
Hi, Charl. Thanks so much. Best, Paul
Awesome work Paul.. keep it up brother.. I love these videos.. thank you for making them.
Hey, Johnny. Thanks! Feel free to share with friends. Cheers, Paul
Great job! It’s good watching a video showing such detail of Bass Development.
Hi, Lee. Great to hear. Glad you liked it. Cheers, Paul
As always, best channel for in depth information of our favorite game fish!
Hi, NH. Thanks. Feel free to share with friends. Cheers, Paul.
this kind of content is extremely important to me. this information can really help to increase the understanding of how to responsibly harvest from our environment and keep our fisheries healthy indefinitely. you should be sponsored by national geographic or something.
Hey, Brennan. Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. Feel free to share! Cheers, Paul
Captivating, I am amazed by the information you have provided. I truly have a new found understanding of Bass. Thank you.
Hi, Patrick. Thanks. Good to hear. Share with friends! Cheers, Paul
Have already started to share with fishing buds. I'm sure you'll be a hit in the Fort Sill OK area.
Thanks, Patrick.
Can’t wait to see the next part. Absolutely brilliant as usual
Hey, Gregory. Thanks. Right now, I'm going fishing!!!! :)
Hard to put a value on content like this. What an amazing video. Your hard work really shows.
Hi, MTXCraze. Thank you. Luckily, I've been simply fascinated by what goes on out there, and down there, fro a very young age. I can literally watch the sun rise and set on a puddle. Hoping to make this channel fly, so I can keep sharing what I do. Cheers, Paul
such a fantastic work, i will support your patreon for sure! cheers from spain
Hi, Sbchamo. Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. And thanks for supporting my work. Cheers, Paul
I was just in Alcaudete, Spain, a small pueblo in between Jaen and Granada. Beautiful country you have there.
Great documentary! Looking forward to part 2.
Hi, BASw. Thanks! I'm looking forward to episode's 2, and 3, as well. The story gets bigger. Not sure yet if I'll combine them. Anyway... Right now, I'm going to get some fishing in. And more filming. Wish me luck. Cheers, Paul
The Nature of Fishing awesome 👍. Tight lines!
You have answered some questions I can’t find anywhere else! Keep these videos coming
Hi, Mike. Great to hear. Yeah, I know what you mean, I've had to answer those questions for myself! Cheers, Paul
The wait is over, thanks Paul!
LOL. Hey, Paul. YES!! For me too. :))) That's a big smile.
Great job as always !... good to see you Paul !!
Hey, Troy. Good to hear from you too. Not sure if these documentaries are a fit for a YT channel or not! At least I can now breath a bit, and get back to more regular content. And... get some fishing in. :) :) :)
The Nature of Fishing ...well I certainly love details.... i’m sure we are not the only two lol
Post spawn 2023 let's gooooo! Thanks Paul for the amazing resource!
Thanks, Patrick.
I share all of your videos I have learn a lot about bass
Hi, Henry. Thanks. Glad you are enjoying them. Paul
I thought I was watching Discovery Channel. Very good and very informative, Thanks Paul.
Hey, BfSC. :) Thanks! Feel free to share. Cheers, Paul
Your videos are amazing! Thanks for posting.
Hey, GMF. Thanks. Paul
Nice video glad to see you dropping content again
Hi, FOLKES801. Yes, the documentaries are BIG projects. Love 'em. But... man, am I ready to get some fishing in. :)) Now that it's off my plate, I can spend my time on more regular programming. Good to hear from you. Paul
Amazing work! Thanks for the video
Hi, eastwoodccj. Thanks! feel free to share it with friends. Cheers, Paul
@@thenatureoffishing7591 I will!
Awesome, been making changes to my equipment. Scored a small boat also. Thanks sir
Great video bud, lot of good info and footage. Keep up the good work
Hi, Wes. Thanks. Cheers, Paul.
Wow! Your videos have always been head and shoulders above all other bass fishing videos, but this is a whole different level. BBC has nothing on you!
Hey, Phillip. Thanks! I've been a BBC/Attenborough fan for years. Glad you can overlook what my son calls, the iMovie look. :) Cheers, Paul
Amazing stuff. I been waiting for your next upload.
Hey, Trevor. Me too, believe me. The "wait" has been killing me. Working on changing that. Cheers, Paul
Tremendous content thank you for your time
Hi, Robert. Thanks. That's time I love to spend. Feel free to share it with your friends. Cheers, Paul
Another great video, I've learned alot today !
Wow... what a great resource of information. Big thumbs up, well deserved.
Thanks, RF. Can’t wait to get rolling again. Cheers, Paul
The greatest video I’ve watched on Bass! Thank you
Thank you so much! You make the learning process a beautifully immersive experience! :)
Hi, Brendan. You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it. Wish I could devote more time to it. Cheers, Paul
This is just fantastic. Absolutely awesome documentary.
Hey, EM. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks!. Stay healthy, Paul
Thank you for making this, Paul
Hi, Anthony. I enjoyed making it. A lot of time burned though. I really want to get the third out, the finale on adult hunting and feeding behavior. But the time it takes is daunting. Or, more accurately, I know it'll be some time before I can complete it. I've wanted to get this last one out before I hit certain fishing related topics. That way I can refer people to the doc when I inevitably say, "...depends on conditions & circumstances". Work in progress. Just can't wait to get back to that progress.
Most excellent! It built respect for the species for me.( and Nature in general...as if that needed any help! )
Thanks, Michael. Yes, it's been interesting considering what cognition is, or at least what it does. Best I can do to "think like a fish".
@@thenatureoffishing7591 Thank you so much for all the hours and hours you put into such a well presented ..lesson! Excellent video and content!
We may not need to know the Why's underneath those behaviors to catch some fish. But, I've been a why kinda guy, since... age 2. :)
Very informative
Hi, J Tiso. Thanks. Cheers, Paul
Awesome video sir!
Hi, TJ. Thanks!
These videos are gems. Amazing content.
Hi, Destro. Thanks! More to come. They just take some time to produce. Cheers, Paul
Man i love this vídeo all the underwater footage it's great good job .
Hi, Mauro. Great! Glad you enjoyed it.Thanks! Paul
This deserves another comment I'm so impressed by all the detailed work put into this documentary 👏 "WOW" .. jimi
Thank you for all your research i now have a lot more knowledge about bass.
Hi, LL. Great to hear. Yeah, there's plenty going on down there. Hope my channel will help in your fishing. The channel has four playlists:
-Documentaries that give us a better understanding of the fishes themselves, currently focused on LMB;
-Fundamentals that provides important background information, in depth. Info that comes up in our Video Fishing Journals (VFJ’s).
-Fishing Tackle Know-How, where we take an in-depth look at the tools of the trade, taking the fish’s perspective into consideration;
-Video Fishing Journals (VFJ’s), where we hit the water together and decipher the system, and the conditions & circumstances, in front of us. And to put our knowledge and decisions to the test.
Best, Paul
I figured it was a big one in the works. Amazing as always and glad to hear you got patreon going.
Hey, BN. Thanks. Yeah... these docs are doozies. Love 'em. But... man, am I ready to get some fishing in. :))) (Big smile) And, yes, been planning a Patreon page for some time. Best fit I think for a labor-intensive channel like mine. Cheers, Paul
Great information Paul!
Hi, David. Thanks. Glad you liked it. And thanks so much for the support as well. All the best, Paul
Thanks again for the videos they are well put together I am learning a lot
Hi, crunch. Great to hear. Fascinating subject. Esp realizing what we share with other creatures. All the Best, Paul
Great video! Thanks for sharing 🐟❤
Hi, Rusty. Thanks. Don't forget to share with friends. The more the merrier is the way the YT ball bounces. Cheers, Paul
As always a masterfully crafted video!
Thanks, Mike.
No thank you!!
Fantastic film!!!
Thanks, S.O.B. Hmmm... glad you spelled that handle out for me! :)
:)
What a great program, excellent!
Thanks, Tyler.
ty for the lovely and informative video. i wanted to know more about these beautiful fish!❤
Thanks, GP. I wanted to know more about these beautiful and amazing creatures too. Still at it actually! :) Best, Paul
VERY GOOD WORK AND VIDEO ON BASS.
Thanks, Dave!
Thanks for sharing your work 👍 I loved it! I subscribed, and look forward to seeing more of this...jimi
Hi, jimi. Thanks. I’m hoping to get back to producing videos. Right now I’m steeped in other obligations. Fishing is taking a back seat. Best, Paul
Wonderful, absolutely wonderful. Thank you
Great documentary, thx for that!:) nice made, very entertaining!:) keep up the good work.
Hi, Black Marten. Great to hear. It's kind of in a genre by itself, a nature documentary buried in a "fishing" site, and.... not quite a fishing video. Cheers, Paul
Superb video….
Enjoyed it so much
Thanks, Gary. Lots to wade through in this one. Paul
I like how you use vintage equipment 😁😁😁 great channel great content.
Hi, Kim. Thanks! Glad you enjoy the content. I can't do it any other way. And, yeah, I like my vintage gear. I don't call it vintage though, that's just my fishing stuff! :)) Cheers, Paul
Hey why do the bass like to ram into each other?
Hi, Rich. Lol. I’m guessing it’s an automatic reaction to an incoming prey like object. “Reaction strike”, if you will. This can even happen with larger fish, the two getting wedged together.
Outstanding video!
Hi, Kristine. Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers, Paul
Amazing analysis!
Thanks, Chris. Feel free to share it with others. Cheers, Paul
Awesome content!
Hi, Andrew. Thanks! Pretty cool stuff, eh? Always amazes me what's actually going on down there. Feel free to share. Cheers, Paul
Not only amazing, but the fact less than 2% of the eggs laid will actually yield a grown bass. So fragile, yet incredibly resilient
Wow....so good, so good, so good. Thank you.
Hi, . Thanks. Glad you liked it. Hope it helps in your fishing. Or, at very least, makes it that much more interesting.
If you haven't already been around the channel, The Nature of Fishing (TNF) has four playlists:
-Documentaries that give us a better understanding of the fishes themselves, currently focused on LMB;
-Fundamentals that fleshes out important background information on stuff I don't have time to cover in-depth in our Video Fishing Journals (VFJ’s).
-Fishing Tackle Know-How, where we take an in-depth look at the tools of the trade, taking the fish’s perspective into consideration, and that supports our Video Fishing Journals (VFJ’s);
-Video Fishing Journals (VFJ’s), where we hit the water together and decipher the system, and the conditions & circumstances, in front of us. And to put our knowledge and decisions to the test.
TNF is meant to serve as an archive that can be referred back to every year, like any good fishing journal. Things really do cycle around again every year, and each outing adds some new wrinkles. And, the more we learn, the more we can get out of re-visiting in-depth content.
Be sure to share with like-minded friends for me. All the best, Paul
Mr. Roberts. I truly enjoy your videos. How do I support you on your patreon page?
So, I've currently chosen two ways for people to support my efforts:
Patreon is a site that handlers monthly donations. You can choose a monthly support amount, and can put a cap on it, decide when you've given what you wish. The Nature of Fishing Patreon Page: www.patreon.com/The_Nature_of_Fishing
For people who do not wish to have a monthly arrangement, I will also be adding a one-time donation button, likely through PayPal.
OMG~! What a lovely content~~~~~ ! Amazing~~ Huge thanks
Hi, HJC. Thanks! Happy you enjoyed it. Be sure to share with friends. All the best, Paul
EXELENT INFORMATION!
Thanks, Fred. Documentaries aren't for everyone, and this one has a pretty dense start. Glad you enjoyed it. Hope it helps your fishing make a bit more sense, or at least makes it that more interesting. Cheers, Paul
Lifetime whanna be bass fisherman this is beautiful.
Hi, SD. Glad you enjoyed it. Hope it helps in your fishing. Or at least makes it that much more interesting. Best, Paul
