2 years ago we stopped buying any foods with modified ingredients, all seed oils, natural and artificial flavors, foods with yellow, blue and red dyes and all artificial sweeteners or the no sugar foods, . Our oils of choice are now Avocado and Olive oil. We switched to eating a more whole foods diet and Wow, it made a huge difference in how we all feel. For Breads we eat only sour dough bread. We cut out all chips, prepackaged foods as well.
I have eaten sweet potatoes for years in place of regular, but as someone who has gone from 339 pounds to 156-ish right now, I also learned that a small regular potato is okay. It was always seen as this "bad carb," but they are not at all. I also love squash, so I used spaghetti squash years before it was trendy, I just liked it, I never even thought of the low carb benefit, lol. I learned, through trial and error over the many years of up and down w/weight, that I can add some butternut or acorn squash to my morning oats, for example, as a great filler, and also a way to add fiber and vitamins. I am lucky because I love squash, I know so many people who either hate it, or who have ever tried it. As for Christmas morning, it varies, as I worked that day for many years as my kids grew up, sometimes by choice for extra money (I worked 3rd so I was home in the morning, but sometimes I worked another shift because it was how we paid the bills), so our Christmas morning was never the same. We let the kids alternate each year, so one year was tacos, one was pizza , etc. I liked giving them choices and it helped w/the variety.
Wow I am amazed at your weight loss journey. I have been trying for years to get healthier and I am making fairly good food choices ( lots of veggies, etc) but I have not come close to the success you have had! Congrats!
Answer your question that you just asked but what people eat on Christmas morning where are Mexican in my household we celebrate Christmas 24th of December and on the 25th we usually have leftovers
I have a container like the one you bought. It’s pretty nice but kind of fragile. It has a crack in it now and it’s only been like a couple of years since I bought it. I just store sugar in it. I was really disappointed in how flimsy it was
I love sweet potatoes! Have you tried the rolo treat but instead of rolos, use hugs? I always get my gifts from my husband to myself. He's not a shopper. So I totally get it.
Do you like it? I have been trying out recipes from instagram and keep finding these European recipes that tell how many grams to measure, so I thought this might come in handy.

That's the way to go. 🎉
That is very interesting and sounds like you put a lot of research into that

Nice, so what type of meal do you usually serve? Do you have a tradition of always having a certain meal?
@shannonsortore3251 we usually have leftover homemade tamales
Question how do you keep your bag of garlic fresh

Oh that stinks. I hope they last!
That’s a cute scale!
I know, I was tempted to get it just by how cute it was!!
It’s my boys and me. We warm up jimmy dean sausage, egg and cheese biscuits. My boys have hot chocolate and I have ice tea everyday.
Aww that is sweet. Love it
