- I'm starting to really enjoy the tigers after learning how to angle a little better. I bounce more shots that I used to but my priority is still to avoid getting hit. In this video, I'm mainly using the Tiger E and H1. Enjoy!

Even when angling properly, still common to run into things that will go either through your mantlet or just the angle, but at least other things won't do much anymore. It's an improvement none the less
people talk so much about "le invincible angled tiger" and here I am running into US tanks with guns so big it just brute forces its way in or 200 - 300mm+ pen HEAT rounds

@@mikhailkutuzov8051The Tiger isn't invulnerable by any means, but the armor is very consistent and the gun+reload is great for experienced players. When you compare it to something like a 75 Jumbo, you can see how much of a beast it is.

@@NeoMaddy 75 jumbo is reallly good, but in an uptier it is probably rough. speaking from a german main, the only way to really kill those (from the front) is the MG port. and if the jumbo is bushed up... well that fucking sucks. plus in a jumbo vs tiger H 1v1, the jumbo has the advantage of a better reload, and the tiger's copula is a massive fricking weak spot, and the tiger has to worry about perfect angling all while aiming for a tiny mg port which moves a whole lot if the jumbo is wiggling due to it being so far away from the center of rotation of the tank. the tiger cannot even wiggle to make the coupula harder to hit, as this would take it out of perfect angling :(

Essentially when poking a corner you point the corner of the hull at them and try your best to hide your side armor. When you’re in the open, angling can only really work at long range. You’re side armor is t strong enough at close range. All german tanks excel in long range. So position yourself on the battlefield where you can play to that advantage.
88s & 75s do the trick

My guide to the tiger for new players
To angle, imagine the an X through the tiger. You will want to align the gun along the X. Preferably, align the gun over the right front corner, as on the left side a penetrating shot will turn the driver into human salsa and detonate the ammo. You may also angle backwards, as the rear armour is only 20mm thinner and if the shot penetrates the engine will protect your crew. You will also be able to retreat faster this way. Of course, the rear armour is thinner and will be penetrated more often, so you will usually want to use your frontal armour. Only angle backwards if you are alone and a large group of enemies is approaching your position.
The gun is very good, I recommend taking no more than 30 shells. The primary shells can be either pzgr 39 or pzgr, it all comes down to personal preference. Twenty shells of aphe will usually last a match. Also, I recommend at least two HEAT and one HE, HEAT for open tops and HE for light tanks. HEAT will not overpressure most light tanks, but HE will. HEAT will overpressure open tops, but can also penetrate a fair bit of armour.
Notable enemies
*Jumbo 75*
This is a very fast, well armoured sherman. You will not penetrate it through by simply clicking on the middle. Shoot the hull MG port, it's on the left side from your point of view. Thankfully, the gun of this tank is very weak, and needs HVAP to penetrate your frontal armour. If you angle it won't be able pen your frontal armour at all. However, it has a very fast reload, and will most likely try to disable both of your tracks to keep you still, and then shoot your barrel. It is best if you dispatch this tank on the first shot.
*Jumbo 76*
Same armour as 75, but with a long 76mm that will slice through your frontal armour, even at slight angles. You must be fully angled to stop the gun of this tank.
*T34(American), T26E1-1, T26E5*
Avoid frontal engagements. You are completely outclassed. Their guns will cut through you even when you are angled, and their shells have large amounts of explosive filler, almost always killing your entire crew in one shot. The T34 uses solid shot though, but it will still usually one shot because it is a 120mm, and it causes a lot of spalling. All of these tanks are frontally immune to your guns, except for their MG ports. The T34 has a very large crew compartment though, so even if you manage to fire into the mg port, it will take multiple shots to kill the entire crew.
*IS series*
*IS-1*
85mm gun, average for the br, if you angle you will be safe. Fire into the turret or lower frontal plate for a quick kill.
*IS-2*
Extremely dangerous 122mm cannon, will cut through even when you are angled and a penetration is guaranteed to kill you. The armour layout is sub par though, having the same hull as the IS-1. Fire into the lfp for a quick kill, the turret is thin but volumetric may cause your shells to disappear, and the breech for the 122mm is very big and often catches shells.
*IS-3*
Thankfully you will not see this unless you add the jagdpanther or kanonenjagdpanzer to your lineup. If you ever do encounter it though, destroy its cannon and retreat. It is completely immune from the front. You must fire into the back of the turret, or at the lower hull side into the tracks.

German tanks are absoloutely one of the best when it comes to long range fights, especially Tigers. Your tecniuqe of angling the Tiger is really effective, yes. But if you constantly try to angle your vehicle you'll lose time in close range engagements so focus on the enemy tank first, not yours.

8:54 When the nametags are transparent, it means that you have no visual on the friendly tank. If they are opaque, it means you do. That nametag was clearly transparent, so you would know that that's indeed an enemy.
dont always have enough time to notice that. and also with the pixelation it somewhat looks like a tiger H1 from this angle.

It's awesome to see your improvement! I remember someone commenting on one of your videos a few weeks ago saying German 6.0 lineup was bad and I couldn't help but tell them they were wrong.
Now that you know how to play the Tiger, it'll make you a better player with every other tank, get you thinking about angles. Keep up the banger videos!
Really cool to see the progression of a new player in WT over the last months. First game was great, good use of the tiger. Sometimes you just get into uptiers and you are just fodder if you can't pen or don't shoot first. I feel that playing the same tanks for a longer time makes such a difference.
Always remember to listen for enemy engine sounds as you can expect them without them knowing.
Also, for the tiger, awareness is a must, as your sides are weak and your frontal armour can only defeat some guns. That’s also a reason why angling is great.

Don't forget that the lower side plate of the Tiger is much weaker than the upper side. It's 60mm instead of 80mm.

10:01 Learn when you can shoot the UFP. T-34-85s only have 45mm of frontal armour angled at 45 degrees. Even if they angle perfectly, It's only around 110mm~ effective thickness. Do not shoot the driver's port of T-34s, as they have 75mm instead of 45mm. If you can see their hull, and can penetrate it, almost always shoot that instead. This will save you the trouble of missing the cheeks and ending up shooting the extremely angled side turret armour.
the front of the t-34s are angled at 60°, not 45° this has a relative armor thickness difference of roughly 30mm.

@@Sh4quille0atmeal The side armour is just as weak as the front plate. Both are 45mm. Just that the lower side is unangled and is also 45mm. You can angle with the T-34-85 but it won't help that much, other than against guns with less than ~150mm of pen. This is not similar with the panther, as there is no reason to angle the panther due to its frontal armour being enough for most stuff anyways.

Most tank destroyers or Russian heavys at the same BR will smoke through your armour even if you're angled properly. Especially in an uptier. Angling works best if you're top tier

2:05 Alot of people don't know this but:
The T-34 hull armor is actually very weak. It's only 45mm flat and 80mm on the angle it sits at. Even when angled sideways too, the main plate is only about 100mm. All you have to worry about is not hitting the driver hatch and you can easily one shot it.
When I started with the tiger, I found that I could line up the corner of the box on the back of the turret and the smoke grenade launcher on the middle of the hull side (not on tiger E) and I put a decoration on the other side of the hull to also remind me how to angle properly. I adjust the angle as needed. It really helps as a visual guide to angling quickly. And I also learned that sometimes, the angle isn't everything, what matters more is not letting people shoot you in the first place.
with the russian heavies its more reliable to hit the lower front plate instead of going for the turret. hitting the turret usually has wildly inconsistent results. and as for the t-34s, you can go straight through the front plate. make sure to not hit the driver's hatch or the mg port they both have some issues with volumetric causing it to eat shells
Gibby in German tanks your can shoot t34s anywhere in the front plate and for the is1-2 you can shoot the lower front plate
Another tip: angle your right side if possible, because the last ammo is in the left, so if you angle to the right it will be harder to hit the ammo for them
You can pen T34 front plate with no problem
But still need to aim right or you will hit the drivers part

You're definitely improving every video! A small thing, but maybe try not to crest the tops of hills like you did at around 9:50 as it makes you extremely easy to spot, especially if there aren't any other hills behind you from the perspective of the enemy - that is to say, if the enemy sees your hill and the sky behind that, the contrast will make you very easy to spot, which is called "skylining". You oftentimes can't even react in time if an enemy does spot you in that circumstance since those kinds of hills mess with your gun depression. In this specific instance the enemy also shot your barrel, so I'd say it was very optimistic to go forward lol. Glad it worked out, since the damage models on barrels and breeches tend to be dogass. You can shoot someone's barrel red and they can still fire, but if yours is orange it'll immediately turn into a banana peel.
As for the plane, I was mildly confused why you used keyboard controls to try and kill him earlier... I feel like I would have fucked it up too if I did it like that, lol. Mouse for precision, keys for maneuvers works best, imo. The aiming reticles are a bit funky and I still haven't exactly figured out how they work, but they seem to just be pasted, like, about 600 meters in front of your plane like an object only you can see, which only works from the standard perspective. It gets fucky if you try to shoot the way you did because you can't exactly trust the aiming reticle... I *think.*

Angling the tiger 1 only works if you’re in a downtier, in an uptier almost everything will go through regardless. Not to mention that the drivers viewport and hull machine gun will casually eat rounds with almost 300mm of pen
Tigers are absolute beasts if used correctly, you can get a lot of things done even in an uptier, even if you're not the top dog the people will underestimate the sheer power of the 88 with the fat amounts of HE filler
angling is a bit of a meme. it's certainly useful and can save you in some situations, but perfectly angling can be a waste of time in situations like close quarters combat, where your priority is to get the first shot off in engagements and not be seen in the first place. there are plenty of vehicles that have the firepower to go through you even when you angle (like American 90s and Soviet 122s). even short 75 shermans can negate your angling by shooting your copula if you're in the H1.

I gave up griding the Tiger H1 after 4 days of Excruciating madness lol.
I found my playstyle suitable on American tank with faster response time and gremlins
With tanks like this (good/decent turret armor but big gun/muzzle break) always try to wiggle your turret until you reloaded, especially againts SPAA or low caliber guns. This is most applicable to the tiger II as the mantlet is small but can eat some nasty apcr/apds shell
another tip is to carry an ammo rack like 16 APHE shells and 4 HE shells this helps you so ur shells don't explode often

3:38 your mistake here wasn't putting your armor front on the T-34 there. Smoking again is also a good option when crossing, but you choosing to disengage and run away even though you saw the enemy first will contribute to your deaths.
how do you keep your head not moveing when you are turning the tank and looking around in the same time? default is C but if i hold C and i look around and i turn my tank the turret is not following the same direction as the hull is basicaly looking where i last aimed it
you could make the blue nametags for your friendlys a brighter blue it really helps, also with reading them.
As long as you learn how to use it and kinda like always drive side ways it is A BEAST. just takes some skill
yeah no, in some kind of update, the armour changed completely, before a panther couldnt front pen a jumbo and now it could, and before you couldnt kill a angled tiger from the front, and after you could. I also realised that its much easier to pen T30's and Super Pershings at spots that were previously impossible to pen, I dont know what update they changed all of this at but I'd appreciate if someone knew and could tell me.
a panther cannot pen the front of a jumbo mate what r u on about (atleast on flat ground) and wdym "couldnt kill an angled tiger front the front and now you can"? there's many tanks that always have been able to do that.

I mean genuinely when playing the Tiger I you wanna treat it like, say a hellcat with very big gun and decent armor (comparable to T 34). That means that play instead for it's gun and not it's armor
Tiger's gun and armor combo is what bother me the most because normally in a lower tier heavy tanks comes with very strong armor but a slightly sub-par gun, but for tigers and panthers they usually also has a high performance gun that doesn't care about anything, it's especially frustrating to face against in something that you traded all your mobility and weaponry just to face something literally better, for example Churchill VII which has to fight VK panther in just a 0.3 up tier, and IS-1 has to fight tigers with a basically useless armor at the same BR, and IS-2 really doesn't compare to the king tigers except for the 1944 one
the tiger has good armor and a good gun. if you suck in a tiger, it's a skill issue

Don't angle with the left side corner, your ammo sits on your left side so if you angle people can hit your ammo through your angle

6:02 Every time i start a new tank... HE in the main shell and you have to fire to change shell...
You can change the order of your shells. In the spawn screen just click the round and it'll open a drop-down menu of all shells you've unlocked. You can put whatever you want in whatever order you want.
@@NeoMaddy Yes i know that, but when i started playing WT i didn't know you could even change the number of shells. I went in with stock rounds for like a whole year, 22 and 23 AP to HE shells for the early Shermans...

Well you see you can angle all you want but the fact is that anyone with 2 braincells can shoot for weak spots. the trick is to expose a plate you know the enemy is going to shoot at and just a moment before you think enemy is going to shoot over angle that plate. Also you should keep moving, always wiggle
