    I have a 675 R 2016 Street Triple, which I find is the best bike I’ve ever had. I love it. The sound is awesome, and the power is fab…….however………..as I recently saw the 2023 model at the dealers, and 2 of my mates have put a deposit on the R/S, ( Red & Yellow one ) I must say, that I really want one……..what a fab bike.

    Sounds like Triumph are going to hit it out of the park again. They look fantastic and one can hope that the new changes make the bike handle even better. I’d love to own one but for the cost constraints, maybe in the future who knows?! 😅

    Call me old fashioned if you like but you can't beat the old school speedo and rev counter for instant clear information at a quick glance, and probably safer as you can spend more time on looking where you are going.

    Great video cheers Toad! I can't stand that tacho layout Triumph use on this bike and a few others either... I mean seriously, mirroring the rev counter? What were they thinking. Shame about the wheelie control (or lack of) too, otherwise this bike looks mega.

    • @kignacio
      @kignacio Рік тому +1

      Yes, this was brought to Triumphs attention when they first released it years ago. Apparently they are being stubborn as the easy fix would be to revert to previous gen software where many different styles were available.

    • @VincentTL

      That tach on the RS is almost a dealbreaker for me. It’s one of the reasons I felt good about getting the 2021 R (plus the fact that I didn’t have the extra cash to buy the RS). I think there are enough improvements in the new RS that I would be willing to overlook the curiously ugly tach with the hope that perhaps a firmware update could fix the problem. I agree, the tach on the 2019 RS is quite usable and they should bring that to the new RS.

    • @rowdstar

    • @visordown
      @visordown  Рік тому +1

      Yeah the wheelie control is a shame, it's there, but doesn't act/can't be manipulated. It's similar on other Triumph's like the Tiger 1200 with electronic suspension. It has posh suspension, but the setting only goes from soft, to sporty, you can;t adjust ride height, preload f/r or anything else. On other models you can, and as a short small rider, that really helps me out.

    FYI, giving the R model the full top end power of the RS model, is a few clicks in TuneECU away. It's all done in software now. The first gen 765 had a different cam profile and tune for the R and RS model. From 2020 on up, its the same motor, same cam, same fuel and ignition tables, etc... They restrict the ride by wire tables on the R to close down the throttle plates to 80% after 8500rpm, while the RS keeps them 100% open till redline.
    That's why the RS has more top end power. The R is governed electronically, but you can flash the ECU from an Android phone to get rid of that and give the R full power.

      doubt they can pull out much more from a 765 cc engine without failing the euro 5 norms, also the unrestricted Moto2 engine makes only 15 HP more the the street version. The next one will probably go up to 850+ cc, also I dont think you need much more then 130 HP to have fun on the road and track, atleast not on smaller tracks most of the street buyers can afford, doubt any1 who spends 11 grand on a bike is also spending 1 grand to go ride the jerezes or the silverstones where you actualy benefit from the 200 HP bikes.

      Are you crazy?!!! :)
      I mean: You're obviously not particularly cash challenged. The Moto2 will no doubt be really special. You've got the money and managed to get on the list: The Moto2, regardless of how it turns out, will be "special" enough that it may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. You can always sell it later, for not much of a loss, if it turns out it's not for you. 890s will always be plentiful.
      Personally, I'm 6 feet. The STR is a bit on the tight side. My knees don't really get along with it for more than an academic hour at a time. But the Daytona works much better. By pitching the rider more forward, the posterior chain takes on some off the load which on more upright bikes goes straight through the knees. So your (at least mine, and I'm not the only one) knees can bend tighter for longer, without getting painful. Man, what an essay...: Point being, I bet the lower bar on the Moto2, for me at least, would make the bike _more_ comfortable to ride than the regular STRs. And that's on top of the Daytona being my favourite track bike ever. You're a lucky guy to be on that Moto2 list. Don't waste the opportunity!
