Album Description:
Föllakzoid began in Santiago, Chile from what they describe as the result of, “a product of a trance experience between friends, sort of a soul abduction in which they’ve been living since 2008.” The band is made up of multi-faceted artists: Juan Pablo (bass, vocals) is a producer of the Sangre Fresca Music Festival in Santiago, Diego (drums) is a photograher, Alfredo (synth) is an architect, and Domingo (guitar) is also a filmmaker who just premiered his first feature length movie “Partir to Live”. They believe that there is some sort of gravitational force that makes South America able to dialogue directly with other places, times, and dimensions.
This album shows the band growing an enormous amount as songwriters, focusing on more developed songs and structures. Throughout these five songs, Föllakzoid craft one of the finest kraut-rock record in years. Let them take you on a serpentine journey through their mystical Chilean land. Föllakzoid will be making their US touring debut this spring.
“Awakening is not a thing. It is not a goal, not a concept. It is not something to be attained. It is a metamorphosis. If the caterpillar thinks about the butterfly it is to become, saying ‘And then I shall have wings and antennae,’ there will never be a butterfly. The caterpillar must accept its own disappearance in its transformation. When the marvelous butterfly takes wing, nothing of the caterpillar remains.”
― Alejandro Jodorowsky

I agree, that's why I love their music so much. It reminds me of the 1970s when people were using oscillators with the sound of synthesizers that were developing at that time, a combination of electronic experimentation & looping with analog play. It was electronica in development but also before all the instruments were taken over completely by electronics. It's a very unique combination. When I first heard follakzoid it was like you said, _"discovering something that was done long ago,"_ even though it wasn't.

reminds me of Bela Tarr's Turin Horse
The horse that Nietzsche punched in the face.
lmao
In Turin on 3rd January, 1889, Friedrich Nietzsche
steps out of the doorway of number six, Via Carlo Alberto. Not far from
him, the driver of a hansom cab is having trouble with a stubborn
horse. Despite all his urging, the horse refuses to move, whereupon the
driver loses his patience and takes his whip to it. Nietzsche comes up
to the throng and puts an end to the brutal scene, throwing his arms
around the horse’s neck, sobbing. His landlord takes him home, he lies
motionless and silent for two days on a divan until he mutters the
obligatory last words, 'Mutter, ich bin dumm!' ['Mother, I am stupid!'
in German] and lives for another ten years, silent and demented, cared
for by his mother and sisters. We do not know what happened to the
horse.
Nietzsche did not punch Horse in a face. He defended a hit Horse.

Just a copy of the Turin Horse's intro scene of Bela Tar. Not because you find something beautiful you copy it. You gotta change it, transform it. And the music the same... who knows rock knows the bands.
+Pedro Lacerda We are the copies of ourselves, and copies of everything else. That is to say, the extentions of the Original. Who knows the beginning, knows the end. But you are right. The resemblence, the "re-make" is obvious. However, it is made with different tones, and thats the difference. We need only small difference, to make something different. Thank you for turning the attention to fantastic Bela Tar
Boring ..
